Chapter Sixteen : Gift Of Rebirth

<p>Nephenia slowly opened her eyes, she looked around in utter confusion as she gently rubbed her eyes.<br/><br/><br/> ' Where am I? ' she asked inwardly.<br/><br/><br/><br/> Nephenia had just woken up in a different room entirely.<br/><br/> The room wasn't in any way looking like hers.<br/><br/> It was a bare room with only just a bed, a chair, and a table.<br/><br/>A mirror was hung on the old wall.<br/><br/> At the edge of the bed where she had laid, stood a scabbard.<br/><br/> Nephenia eyes opened wide in surprise as she stared at it for a while.<br/><br/><br/> She had always wanted a real sword since she was young, but her parent would never allow it.<br/><br/> But now she could see a scabbard right at the edge of where she had laid.<br/><br/> If she wasn't in this strange room, she would have been so glad and tried out the sword but now wasn't the time.<br/><br/><br/> She wasn't home with Dray nor her parent the thought of it brought about a sickening feeling as she wondered where she was.<br/><br/> <br/><br/> Nephenia had no idea how she had gotten to this strange place, different thoughts drifted in and out of her mind as she sat thinking of how she could have gotten there.<br/><br/> ' Have I been kidnapped? ' she thought<br/><br/><br/> ' They must have drugged me' she said inwardly as she rubbed her head gently.<br/><br/> ' How do I escape from here, without anyone noticing' <br/><br/> Sweat started streaming down her face as she became scared.<br/><br/><br/> ' Knock ' <br/><br/> ' knock '<br/><br/><br/> ' knock '<br/><br/><br/><br/> The series of knocking had interrupted her thinking.<br/><br/> She got up slowly picked the scabbard from the edge of the bed and walked across the strange room towards the door when she stopped.<br/><br/> She swallowed hard, as she perspired more.<br/><br/> She had taken a glance at the mirror when she walked past it, and what she saw had baffled her.<br/><br/><br/> Stopping in her tracks and slowly turned around walking towards the mirror to have a good look at what she had seen a few minutes back.<br/><br/><br/> Her eyes opened wide in shock at what she had seen.<br/><br/> The mirror wasn't showing her reflection, but that of someone else.<br/><br/><br/> Her ginger hair had been replaced with black short hair.<br/><br/> She looked nothing like herself in the mirror, everything around her seemed strange.<br/><br/><br/> She just stood there, touching her hair which in person seemed shorter. When she has woken up she hadn't noticed the changes in her body as she was so lost in thought on how to escape from this strange place.<br/><br/><br/> ' How did ....'<br/><br/> ' knock '<br/><br/> ' knock '<br/><br/><br/> The knocking had continued, for a while now she had forgotten about the persistent knock on the door.<br/><br/> She tightened her grip on the hilt of the sword as she walked closer to the door.<br/><br/> When she got to the door, she turned the doorknob.<br/><br/> The door was flung open as a gust of wind rushed in, on instinct she had closed her eyes as the wind was too much.<br/><br/><br/> She could feel the cold breeze on her face and soon it had settled.<br/><br/><br/> She slowly opened her eyes.<br/><br/><br/> ' How did I get here?' <br/><br/><br/> She was now standing afront a hut, in the middle of nowhere.<br/><br/> She swallowed hard as she felt the change of atmosphere.<br/><br/><br/> She could feel something in her hands so she looked at it to see what it was.<br/><br/><br/> She was holding in her hand a folded piece of paper, on seeing it she immediately opened it.<br/><br/><br/> And her eyes grew wide open as she read it out.<br/><br/><br/> ANNIHILATE ANYONE IN THIS HUT.<br/><br/><br/> ' What does it mean? '<br/><br/><br/> ' Am I a serial killer?' she asked inwardly.<br/><br/><br/><br/> The thought of being a serial killer brought about the sickening feeling again.<br/><br/> Strange things had been happening for a while now since she had woken up in that weird room.<br/><br/> She was devastated at the recent happenings and had no idea what could happen next.<br/><br/> With everything that had been happening, she was sure she wasn't in her world but a new world entirely and also in a different body... and she knew she wasn't in control of the things happening around her<br/><br/> She wished to be out of here soon.<br/><br/> Hopefully, the thing that had brought her here would take her home.<br/><br/><br/><br/>But now she was confused and needed answers.<br/><br/> " What is happening?" she asked no one in particular<br/><br/><br/> " Why am I here?" she asked again as she was utterly confused.<br/><br/><br/> A strange noise was made and the door to the but slowly opened.<br/><br/><br/> Nephenia knew she had to enter but hesitated a little before deciding to enter.<br/><br/><br/> She walked slowly towards the hut, as she got inside the door had closed by itself.<br/><br/> Nephenia swallowed hard in fear.<br/><br/><br/>The hut had just a room that was barely small and could accommodate more than one person.<br/><br/><br/> At the far corner was a small single bed, the bed was slightly scattered and it seemed like the owner had just gotten up not quite long.<br/><br/> She could hear movement at the dining section and had decided to check it out.<br/><br/><br/> Nephenia walked slowly towards the dining section, her hands pressed firmly against the hilt of her sword.<br/><br/><br/> <br/> " I see you've arrived so early " She heard an unfamiliar voice, and looked towards where the voice had come from.<br/><br/><br/> Sitting at the dining section was a small human on a black mask with red lining covering some part of his face, he was eating through the opened hole at his mouth region.<br/><br/> At first, Nephenia had thought he was a small kid but on noticing the voice. She realised it sounded more mature.<br/><br/> And Weird.<br/><br/> ' Who is he? ' <br/><br/> She thought and had decided to ask him if she wants to know.<br/><br/><br/> " Who are you? " She asked drawing her sword, in case the small human<br/><br/><br/><br/> " How did you know I was coming here? " She asked curiously<br/><br/><br/> " You see your master had a lot of people on his death list and I knew I was one of them," He said<br/><br/> " I knew that one day he will send his killing machine to come looking for me, so each day I wake up prepared to welcome you to my home " <br/><br/> " Put back your sword dear one, Come sit and have a meal with me"<br/><br/><br/> ' My Master? ' Nephenia thought as she walked towards where the small human had told her to sit, sheathing her sword.<br/> <br/> <br/> " What does my Master want from you," She asked.<br/><br/><br/> She knew she had to act like she knew what was going on.<br/><br/> Nephenia had realised that the small human wasn't talking to her but the body she was in, so she had to act along as she doesn't want to get caught.<br/><br/><br/><br/> " Here " He said handing her a cup of tea.<br/><br/><br/> " Thanks, I am good" She replied declining his offer.<br/><br/><br/> <br/><br/> " This thing you are rejecting would be the cause of your demise " he replied wearing a smirk on his face.<br/><br/><br/> Nephenia eyes opened wide in terror.<br/><br/><br/> " What do you....." <br/> <br/><br/><br/> <br/><br/><br/> " But don't worry, I will give you freedom from the horrible life you've been living serving your master" he cut in, ignoring her expression <br/><br/><br/> " Why are you doing this?" Nephenia asked<br/><br/><br/> " I am here to kill you and you are offering to give me freedom" She continued <br/><br/><br/><br/> " I have watched you kill Sophia and I have watched you save lives also..... I know that even if you are a killing machine, it's all because you were trained to kill and be void of emotions "<br/><br/><br/> ' Sophia??... Maybe that's her name ' she thought<br/><br/><br/> " But I see you have a lot of emotions inside of you " he continued <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/> " You might be confused now, but soon enough you will understand what I mean" he continued <br/><br/><br/> The small human stood up and walked towards where Nephenia sat.<br/><br/><br/> " Your Master's pet will be here soon, You should get going" <br/><br/><br/> " But before that, Open your hands" <br/><br/><br/><br/> Nephenia Opened her hands, while he placed his on hers.<br/><br/> It felt awkward as his hands were a lot smaller than hers, but his grip was like that of 10 men.<br/><br/> <br/><br/><br/><br/> " This gift will free you from all your guilt and this is the gift of A second chance " <br/><br/><br/> " The gift Of rebirth in a new world" he continued<br/><br/><br/> Nephenia was confused.<br/><br/><br/> " What do you....."<br/><br/><br/> A strange glow could be seen emitting from both their palms and Nephenia began to feel dizzy as the glow had turned to a bright light surrounding them.<br/><br/><br/> Soon Nephenia had passed out as the bright light had turned to total blackness.<br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>**********<br/><br/><br/> Nephenia Opened her eyes as she quickly sat up, she looked around and a smile had appeared on her face.<br/><br/><br/> She was in her room.<br/><br/> Sitting on the bed relishing her room, she had a weird thought and immediately stood up and walked towards her Mirror.<br/><br/><br/> As she walked towards her mirror, she was really scared even though she has touched her hair.<br/><br/> She needed to be sure that she was in her own body and not someone else's.<br/><br/><br/> As soon as she stood afront the Mirror she sighed.<br/><br/><br/> She was relieved she was herself and jumped from where she stood to where her bed was.<br/><br/> She had a different kind of feeling inside her, she felt stronger. <br/>She sat heavily on her bed reliving the dream as she tries to figure out what it was all about.<br/> <br/><br/><br/><br/> </p>
