Chapter 2

"Doesn't that sound pretty fucking serious!? How did I incur such damage!?"

Raven was shocked to see the information that popped-up from the module, much less from the time limit sitting under it.

'Damn, there's a time limit too. I only have less than two days to solve this shit and I can't even move...'

He then sighed exasperatedly while looking at the sky.

"I mean... this could also be me, hallucinating because of some crazy-exposure-shit from that relic right?"

He mumbled to himself while questioning his sanity.

And as if he realized something incredibly important, he froze for at least three seconds.

"T-the relic.. where's the relic!?"

He fumbled all throughout his body as he search for the said relic.

Until he managed to catch a glimpse of his right hand.

"Oh. My. God."

Staring at his right arm, he was shocked and confused. He then turned towards his left arm...

And now he's speechless.

Raven didn't bother checking the injuries of his arms as he was used to it, he was more shocked at the color of his skin.

Of course not being racist, but his skin was completely different from what he remembered it to be!

His skin was fair and white as snow, he almost can't believe that it was possible to have this kind of skin tone.

He then proceeded to stand up, albeit with difficulty, to take a good look at what was really happening to himself at the river.

'My goodness, what the hell is happening here?!'

As he was standing up trying to feel his body, he confirmed that something has really changed.

His viewpoint and angle of vision was different from before!

Suppressing the restless feeling inside him, he dragged his body to the edge of the river.

There, he saw a completely unfamiliar face.

A young, fair, and handsome face was reflected from the river.

A head full of ash-colored hair that reached the shoulders.

Bluish-green eyes, quietly gleaming on the reflection of the river.

And the tender face with some baby fats that further tells its current body's age.

"..."

Raven was dumbstruck for a good amount of time.

"Is this... me?"

Raven said, while staring at the reflection on the river.

Even for a great personage such as him, he can't help but lose his sanity for a moment due to the peculiarity of the situation.

"I mean, the face is quite well-defined. I definitely could pass up as a first-rate villain for any kinds of movie. Those eyes also adds up to the charm, the only problem was my skin. Why am I so white though? Am I some freaking ghost or something?"

Facing the pale-faced, white-haired reflection from the river, Raven was at a loss on what to do.

"There's no way that this is real, this must be a dream. Like some drug injected to me putting me in a deep sleep. Yep, I think that's the most plausible explanation I can think of right now."

Raven comforted himself from all the chaos that was happening right now.

'There's a pretty high chance that this is a dream. I need to wake myself up.'

He pondered while observing his injured body, and an idea popped inside his head.

He then removed some of the tattered clothing dangling from his arms and poked open his wounds with a twig he casually picked up from the ground.

***

Fifteen minutes of screaming, gritting and trying everything that can wake him up, he's now exhausted beyond belief and his injuries have gotten worse.

"Man... that explosion from before... did it really kill me? Or all those fucking shit on my memories were my dreams and this is my reality?"

He mumbled weakly, questioning the reality of his very existence himself.

"Fuck this shit, man. Looks like I have no choice, it seems the introduction I saw earlier from that thing was the only clue I got right now."

The situation might be bizarre, but still, Raven was a person with a strong mental fortitude.

He then closed his eyes to adjust his breathing and regain his focus. The weird sound from earlier was the only rope he can grab onto now.

'Hmmm, let's see... open..? notice open... introduct-'

Ding!

[Welcome,

This module will only brief you about basic information you need to know before proceeding on your own.

In your world's vocabulary, you are currently within a galaxy situated approximately 1.4 billion light-years away from Milky Way.

Cross referencing the data gathered from Earth to this world, there's an abundance of energy present here capable of boosting one's life rating. Different types of races exist that have beyond or comparable ability to think, learn and adapt like humans. Languages from both planets doesn't share any shred of similarities aside from being spoken orally...]

A full ten-minute read of the panel full of information regarding his current situation; from the world he's currently residing to all the general knowledge he needed.

Then the final message left by the system opened.

[This module's only goal was to provide some answers for the chosen, clearing up the confusion and provide basic knowledge about the world the chosen's currently living in. Finish the trial provided by the system to unlock all the system's functions. Good luck.]

The message panel collapsed on it's own after prompting the last bit of information.

"So that's it.. the orb found on Egypt was like a super-advanced AI trying to gather data about our world since the day Earth was formed. That orb was also the one responsible for protecting my soul from being completely destroyed and the one who transferred it right through this boy's body."

Everything is getting clearer now that Raven finally read the entire introduction module from the system.

"I can't believe it, this shit is really true what the fuck."

Although it was somehow hard to believe, he still firmly decided to follow through the course of events.

Well, as if he had a choice at the first place. The only good thing was, there's a system that can serve as his guide through his endeavors here in the future.

Sighing deeply, he shook his head to somehow remove all the useless thoughts.

"Now all the blurs that are currently bothering me are somehow settled, I need to look at that emergency module again first."

Beep!

['The Trial'

Soul is damaged. Needs immediate repair in order to function completely.

Find a living object and extract their soul.

Extracted soul/s: 0%

Time limit: 41:29:11

Reward/s: 'Host' Title

Penalty/s: Death]

"Wow... I don't even know how many souls I need to fill this shit up, great."

He sighed, thinking where can he get those souls.

"It seems I'm goin' to have a long night."

Raven mumbled, pretty annoyed at the fact that he has to collect large number of stuff with his injured and fatigued body.

'Wait... plants are living things right? Then, can I possibly extract souls from them?'

A brilliant idea then brewed in his mind as he began to perform his first step towards the extraction rites.

"System, how can I extract a soul from something?"

{Hold an object with your hand, and assign a default command for that specific action.}

Raven nodded, he was now ready to perform his first extraction.

He crouched down and plucked a strange-looking flower in his left hand as he concentrated deeply.

'Well... extract then.'

{Confirm 'extract then' as the default command?}

'No, no! Just extract!'

{Confirm 'just extract' as the default command?}

Raven's eyebrow faintly twitched.

Calming himself down again, he said.

"Extract."

{Confirm 'extract' as the default command?}

'Mm.'

{Acknowledged.}

After the small mishap, Raven felt a tingling sensation from his left hand flow upwards through his fingers as a cool, refreshing feeling permeated his hands.

'Did it work?'

He tried feeling his entire body but can't sense any noticeable change. He then decided to open the panel containing the quest information to appear.

"Eh?"
