59. A Matter of Life and Death

Noises were everywhere and got Cleo close to lose her mind, she wanted to sleep more after all she had to go through but there, she was having it hard to fade away to sleep.

She groaned and jumped from the bed, but she gasped when she looked at the direction of the noises. Dybbuk was changed into different clothes by some strange people with animals' heads, they all suddenly turned their attentions to hear when they heard her gasp. She was surprised at first but when she digested what's going on around and who those might be, she sighed and rubbed her forehead, "couldn't you do it somewhere else?"

"We're sorry" a man with falcon head approached and kneeled in front of her, Cleo pulled her legs to the bed but when she saw what she was wearing, she blushed and hid her thighs and up with the light fabric she's wearing.

"Wha- What am I wearing?!"

"Our clothes of course!" Cleopatra came and yelled back, System 0 came after him with a small boy, when the two saw her, they were in an astonishment by her current look. Cleo was wearing light white fabric dress; it was open from both sides revealing her slim legs, as for the upper part, it was cut and open from the back, so her arms and back were revealed.

"Isn't this too revealing?" She mumbled, everyone kept staring at her getting her more embarrassed, she tried to hide her face, but she could still see their staring eyes on her.

"C- Can you all just... Stop staring?" Everyone leaned closer to hear her clearly, but they couldn't comprehend a single word.

"Uwaaaah!! Master is very beautiful!!" The small boy jumped to her arms after he changed his size to that of an adult.

"Che- Cheche?" Cleo held his two cheeks and stretched them hoping she's still asleep and the small black thing is really small and not this old, "I'm sorry master~ But I feared you'd get too used to my small form and forget that I am actually very old"

"Che-?" She added some strength into her nose bridge sensing an approaching headache, but Cheche stopped her before she even started, "master are you going to tell me you're not my master?" Cleo watched as his small eyes turn big like a puppy's and his lips pouting and even trembling warning her he'll cry any second.

"No. No, I won't"

"Excuse me you two, but there's a matter that needs to be discussed" Cleopatra folded her arms and watched the two in disgust, Dybbuk and the others understood what she meant except for Cheche who glued to her, System 0 walked to them and pulled him away, "I'll teach some stuff so he won't cause any trouble in the future" Cleo and Cleopatra nodded their heads and allowed him to leave.

"What is it?" Cleo stood from her place and walked to Cleopatra who was taller than her in five centimeters, she didn't have any energy in her, so she went straight to business hoping after they finish, she can get more rest.

"I know what you're thinking about, and I need to apologies to you earlier that you won't be able to taste it"

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is that there's a matter of life and death, and you my dear? You are now in that matter now" Cleo looked at her in shock not believing what she just heard. Life and death? Why? By whom? And for what reasons? Cleo's brain started to process everything it had received with all she had known so far hoping for some reasonable reasons to pop in her head.

"Zeus" she mumbled, and when she turned to look at Cleopatra, she saw her sad face and her pity eyes staring at her.

"You had got his attention, especially after you got Dybbuk who's the Destruction sister, on your side... This easily..." Cleopatra started after throwing her heavy body on the bed like chair, she leaned to the table and picked some grapes and ate them one by one slowly. She's not doing this on purpose, no! She just doesn't know how to keep going, she's afraid to keep going, scared that Cleo will give a bad reaction and put herself and her in danger.

Cleopatra had been an ancestor for her children for thousands of years now and she wasn't willing to die and disappear forever just because of a mistake that wasn't even worth it from the very beginning.

But Cleo was different, she had always been different, the moment she set her eyes on her, she asked the previous one she was watching over to teach her as much as he could, and luckily the results were amazing so far, she just missed few things and happily they were filled through those months of training and fighting.

Yet the worst part of all, was the fact she wasn't the only one who had her eyes on Cleo, there was also the Greek Gods like Zeus and even Ra himself!! Ra never got interested in anyone or anything, and out of nowhere, after Cleo was chosen to be the next warrior for Egypt, he had kept an eye on her and each time he gets more and more interested in her and everything she does.

"Cleo, please listen to me closely, and please! Remember every single word I'm about to say!" Cleopatra looked at her seriously making the young lady get more worried.

"In Gods we believe, but beware of few things, nothing will be hidden, and you and me will never make it. The truth must remain hidden, from the eyes and ears of the deities, mission impossible it's not, for it's a matter of life and death"

Cleo's eyes opened widely with each word Cleopatra said, fear grew within her, and her body started trembling. The whole idea of being safe but not by those Gods she's controlling terrified her.

"We'll never be safe" she mumbled.

"Until hunted day comes, make sure you control the dark mana inside you. It'll help you a lot. Actually, I don't remember the last time the darkness master showed up but... All I know it won't be easy with all those eyes on you" Cleo dropped on the bed and released a long and tired sigh, she didn't know what she's feeling, all her emotions weren't mixed and with no meaning. As for her mana, it suddenly went feral from anger and excitement, the dark mana sitting inside her sighed and proceeded with what it has in mind.

'If this child doesn't make a decision, then I'll need to make one on her stead' the dark mana thought already getting worried from the unknown future.
