Chapter 9- A Fortuitous Encounter

After Wan Long finished making breakfast for his parents, he proceeded into the deeper regions of the Purple Berry Mountain.

Since he was already a Third Level Body Refinement cultivator, added onto his heaven-defying battle power given by his Power of Gluttony, Wan Long had the ability to kill Demonic Monsters with the strength of at least Fourth Level of Body refinement cultivators with one punch.

This meant that he could enter Purple Berry Mountain's inner region whenever he pleased. However, he still had to be careful when he entered into the core region of Purple Berry Mountain. This was because there were Demonic Monsters in the Core Region that could kill even Eighth Level of Body Refinement cultivators. Wan Long had no intention to tussle with these Monsters as the current him was not strong enough to fight them.

As he was sprinting through the forest, trying to find more traces of martial energy, and at the same time, train his God's Eyes to the initial success stage.

"Hmm?..." Wan Long ran across the trees, and encountered a pack of Star Wolves, an extremely dangerous Demonic Monster that was very dangerous to cultivators who did not have cultivations of at least the Fourth Level of Body Refinement. But to Wan Long, they were simply sheep that were awaiting a slaughter by him.

With just a single punch from him, the entire pack of four Star Wolves had their skulls caved in and died instantly.

As he was tidying up the carcasses of the Star Wolves, he noticed something that he had never seen before in the Purple Berry Mountain. A Demonic Monster Core.

In Long Du Er's memories, he had seen some Demonic Monster Cores that he had used and knew that Monster Cores were extremely, extremely precious and rare. Monster Cores could be used as cultivation materials, cores of weapons and armour, and could also be used in the making of pills.

"Hmm?!.." After placing the Core into his chest pocket, Wan Long immediately noticed a large strand of martial energy flowing in the air and its nature was extremely icy. Wan Long had never seen this dense amount of martial energy appear in the Purple Berry Mountain.

He became excited as he wanted to know just what item could cause such a dense amount of martial energy to be condensed. Was it a cultivation resource? Was it a weapon? All he knew for sure that it was going to be a treasure.

As he headed for the source of the energy, the amount of martial energy grew denser and he revolved his Divine Devouring Technique to devour every bit of martial energy that was in the air. Wan Long accumulated enough for himself to immediately breakthrough to Sixth Level of Body Refinement realm, but he had to keep himself from having a breakthrough in the middle of his search for the source of energy.

When he reached the location of the assumed source, the amount of martial energy present was abundant and was so pure that the Spirit Grasses and the Star Wolf Monster Core paled in comparison.
