Choi Sa-Rang suddenly heard something that sounded like a sack of nuts that fell from a truck. She looked around but there was no truck nor sack of nuts, she could only see something, A lifeless soldier's body laying on the ground.
Her lifesaver instinct triggered her to try to save the body. She unhooked her hands from Hu Na-mu's and ran to the tip of the river and the latter followed instantly, chasing after her but she was kind off faster than ever and he couldn't catch up with her, she couldn't get to the lifeless body laying on the other side of the river and she started preparing to jump into the river and swim to the other side.
"What do you think you are doing?" Na-mu shouted at her and pulled her back from diving into the river. He was so awed by the fact that she wanted to jump into the river just to get to someone who might end up being an enemy. He yanked her to his back and pushed her off the river bank as she struggled to free herself.
"That soldier is our brother, he is putting on our uniform, I need to perform my duty, let's save him." Sa-Rang shouted back at him and struggled to get out of his hold but he tightened his hold, restricting her from moving.
"What if he is an enemy in disguise, what will you do then?" He asked and was surprised by her response. "Then come with me?" She replied without a care. He knew well that she only said that so that he would let her go, he knows she is hell-bent on getting to the other side of the river. But what could he do to change her mind, NOTHING.
"I will make sure to shoot him dead if he acts strange." He said and she nodded her head in agreement at his words when he discovered he won't win the argument. "Stay here!" he added and went to get a raft that transported them to the other side of the river.

Yoon Chi-Won's eyelids twitched and he slowly opened his eyes to a blurry view. He could mark out two people staring at him but he couldn't see the faces clearly. One of them stood cross-armed by a pillar, and he emited some kind of angry aura. The other knelt down beside him and was looking at him and he could see the blurry white teeth appearing from the person's smile. He swallowed his saliva and he frowned due to the bitter taste that filled his throat.
When Choi Sa-Rang saw the scowls on his face she spoke immediately. " Uhm, I gave you herbs when you were still barely conscious. I also treated your wounds, don't move your body or the wounds might open again. " About a split seconds after her speech, Chi-Won heard the voice of the other man who stood at the pillar asking him a question. "Who are you and what's your name, why are you here?" Na-mu questioned seriously, not minding the state of health of the patient.
Before Chi-Won could raise his voice or even find his words, Sa-Rang snapped at him seriously, "Na-mu, let the poor man relax, and quit acting like that." Just as she finished talking, the wounded soldier, Yoon Chi-Won tried to stand up from the fluffy mat he laid on.
"Where do you think you are going?, you are still not strong, you can't last a minute out there if..."
*Slump* He slump back to the ground the same moment he stood up, even before Sa-Rang could reach out her hand to stop him from leaving.
"You are going to hurt yourself, just lie like this and don't move,...you seem to have some temper, are you going because of his unwelcoming attitude, Mn?, Just forget about his existence, I have gotten used to that." Sa-Rang said.
The patient shook his head and said, "I have to get back to the front, I can't stay here recuperating when more men are dying."
*Shush* Sa-Rang shushed him by placing her index finger on his lips. He became angry for how she just shushed him, no one deared to do that, Even though he was just a brigadier leading a troop, he hadn't risen to more higher ranks but he is so egomaniacal already. He just couldn't show his angry side to the one who saved his life. He stopped talking and layed down relaxed on the mat as she instructed while he dived deep in thought.
He was wandering who this two are?, He didn't know if they are friends or foe but either way, he has a debt to pay them, the debt for saving his life. Still confused about their identity he decided to ask them.
After discovering that they are mere Lieutenants, a very low rank compared to his, a Brigadier with a star, his ego boosted.
"So stranger I am Choi Sa-Rang, he is Hu Na-mu, what's your name?" Sa-Rang asked and passed to him a bowl of soup and a tray of food. "You've had nothing for almost two days now, eat."
"Yoon Chi-Won, that's my name." He replied after a little hesitation and she didn't miss how weak he sounded, she felt relaxed she thought it right to get him something to eat, he might have been starved for so long from his long journey. She was curious to know what lead him faraway from the warfront to their little village. Perhaps he could know her father and he could have news about him so she decided to ask him.
"So, how did you get here, we found you near the riversi..." Na-mu came over and pulled her away, "The man is sick, yet you are still chit chatting with him." He said as he pulled her out of the room. He didn't let go of her until they left the room finally and got to the wide training room in the dojo.
"Na-mu, do you really care about the patient or your silly jealousy is back, I was only questioning him to know his experience at war, I also want to ask if by any chance he is from Zone 802, I am desperate for news about my father, that's all, what's wrong with you?." Sa-Rang barked at him. She wondered why he showed no sense of hospitality at all to the patient when he knows well that that's what their master, who is her father thaught them to do. She wandered if he is so much infected with jealousy that he couldn't control his actions. If aside being her father's apprentice, her guide and training partner, Na-mu is also the one her heart belongs to, and he wasn't the jealous type, but she didn't understand why he changed without notice.
"It's true, I won't let you talk to any other man, especially someone like him" He admitted and this surprised her greatly, she could not but ask what had gone wrong with him. "When did you become this jealous, the fact that he is my patient means I have to talk to him, if you are not okay with that then get lost!!! Or maybe I can be the one to get lost." She shouted at him angrily and walked out on him, leaving him alone in the empty training room.
A few days passed and neither Na-mu nor Sa-Rang decided to be the bigger person, they stopped talking to each other and ignored one another more. Meanwhile, Yoon Chi-Won was recuperating well and a lot of his wounds where getting better. All the gunshots wounds have almost healed completely but some machete wounds are still in the process of healing and he was feeling better, Sa-Rang had been the one keeping check on his urge to get back to the warfront and made him rest instead.
In place of making up with Na-mu, she has been keeping Chi-Won's company and getting to know him more. It was in the process that she knew that he was a higher officer, a brigadier and that at this age, he already had a star to his shoulder. She also discovered that he was the only heir of the Yoon family, the son of the Head of the Treasury Department of the ministry of finance.
Within a short time they had gotten fond of one another and they are always together talking about what happened at war and the situation of the country, but sometimes the discussion gets personal like presently.
Yoon Chi-Won and Choi Sa-Rang sat at the same riverside where she met him, he accompanied her to have some fresh air since he was almost fully recovered. He stood by her side and watched as she stared at the water and he liked her face when she is completely lost in thought. He just wasn't okay with how all her attention was on the flowing river. He hit her shoulder with his and when he got her attention, he opened his mouth for a while before he decided to talk.
"Sa-Rang, you saved my life and I owe you a lot..." He said to break the weird silence. He loved talking to her and she also did but nowadays she wasn't as talkative as she used to be.
She shook her head and replied him, "You don't owe me anything, that's my obligation to my country." She turned back to follow the flow of the river with her eyes.
"You don't understand, two of my comrades who survived with me died after walking the forest for two days straight with no food nor water. If I wasn't lucky to have been here at the same time, you will not have saved me, I am not scared of death, but I am glad I met you. Just let me do you one favour." Chi-Won said and brought out a flower from behind him.
"Sa-Rang, I am leaving tomorrow, come with me, I can give you more than what he can, I like you so much, please let me show you what love means because you are a precious gift and he doesn't appreciate it, I will treat you better than he does if you come with me." Yoon Chi-Won held her hands and placed the flowers in them, "I will give you till morning to think it through" he said and turned to stroll away but she stopped him immediately.
"Chi-Won!" She walked up to him where he halted and passed the flowers back to him. "I am sorry but my heart belongs to Na-mu alone, I only take you as a brother, we both made an oath to die for our father's land and that's what's common to us, aside that, I can't say I have another bond with you, Na-mu has being by my side since I started to walk, we learnt from my father together, and we understand each other. I love him" she said and this time around, she was the one who turned to leave.
"Tell me, if you love him then why have you always been with me, you never for once talk to him for a long time now, is that how you explain love? Or are you just pushing me away. That's a dumb excuse." He shouted as he followed after her.
Feeling irritated, Sa-Rang halted and turned to him, "That's non of your business. It's a matter between two people, you are just a third wheel here." She said and finally left him for the house.
Calling him a third wheel trampled on his ego but he couldn't get angry at her because he loved her, well he thinks he does, he just needed to convince her to ditch her boyfriend, that sounds bad but that's how desperate he is for her.
He followed after her angrily but made no more fuss as she wasn't giving him attention, they walked back quietly, but as they got close to the settlement, he heard a loud bang followed by gunshots. Before he knew it, Sa-Rang was heading to the direction of the explosion which was the place where they lived. Seems the enemy noticed that they were soldiers and attacked their house.
He ran as fast as he could to catch up with Sa-Rang but even with his speed he could not catch up with her as sge was tremendously fast, he could only watch her dashing forward in front of him.
On getting to the area, to their surprise the enemy not only attack their house but also they were shooting civilians too. The place was a little community that had no more than a few soldiers stationed there since the war had only a tiny bitty possibility of spreading to this location. They were greatly shocked by the attack but as unprepared as they were, the military responded quickly, armed from head to toe, trying to repel the enemies forces.
Na-mu tried to pull Sa-Rang to a safe spot for her protection immediately she ran back to him but she rejected him and immediately grabbed a gun, handed another to Chi-Won and joined the gun fight. Even though she was just a medic, as a soldier, she also wanted to fight with them to protect the people and Na-mu saw her determination, therefore he didn't stop her anymore.
