Those Moments

Slashing Xelfia aimed for its legs as it began to switch positions to attack them and slashed her dagger right through them. Feeling her blade cut through flesh she watched as the Bunny was torn in half as its body split in two fell in the abyss. "No blood?" A little shocked that she actually was able to do it the first thought that ended up coming to her mind was the fact that no blood or anything else spilled out of it when it died but soon that was replaced by worry as she kept her guard up to see if anything else would happen. She had seen it come back multiple times before and she wouldn't let that take her by surprise again.

"But nothing is happening."

After waiting a couple minutes and keeping an eye on all the platforms around her the Bunny still didn't end up coming back. Calming down she let her guard down assuming it was over as a small sense of satisfaction finally started to bloom inside her when she realized what she had accomplished. "I actually did it." Staring down at her dagger she watched as it soon disappeared from her hand however she could still feel it in her grip as if it never left as she flexed her hand a little. Feeling happy for herself she brought her hand up to her face and felt the smile that was stuck there refusing to budge.

Thankfully Xilo wasn't in the right mind right now or else she probably would look like an idiot to him at the moment with a silly grin like this. "Oh Wait Xilo." Nearly forgetting the situation they were in and how Xilo currently was, Xelfia turned to him with some embarrassment as she grabbed his shoulder and started to shake him as her smile finally started to fade. "This should be the end of this test, now there's only 2 left. Hopefully then we can leave." Gently shaking him she waited until he finally started to show signs of coming back from what he was feeling now that they had a moment to relax.

"Xilo."

"...hu-What, where, what happened?"

Stuttering about a little Xilo looked around a little confused about what was going on until he spotted the ice on his arm again while his chest was slowly feeling more cold under his shirt causing panic to instantly rush through his entire body. At this rate he was going to be frozen solid. "Calm Down, you know what you need to do." Trying to stabilize his thoughts a little he looked around the room remembering they were currently in a test at the moment but no matter where he looked nothing was to be seen anymore except an empty room with only him and Xelfia.

"You better now?"

Letting go of Xilo's shoulder Xelfia stared into his eyes as she watched the clarity return to them over time and finally breathed a sigh of relief. She understood a little how she felt at this moment so she didn't blame him in the slightest. Fear was a hard thing to handle and she was learning that first hand and even though Xilo seemed so fearless most of the time it was hard not to forget that he could be afraid as well here and there but just like herself he would also have to learn even more to get a better control of it or else unlike this time the next time they might not be so fortunate.

"I'm sorry about that really."

Feeling ashamed with himself he hung his head after figuring out the situation as he spoke with guilt in his voice. He wasn't afraid of dying or anything of the like but he was afraid of letting Xelfia die along with him and letting her and even himself down and it turns out he let that get the better of him this time around. "Guess I need more practice." He thought he had prepared himself pretty well for what the world was going to throw at him but it seemed he was wrong about that and because of that he could have possibly been the end of them. He didn't know what to say at that moment but sorry. "I can't let that ever happen again." Staring at that ice he made a promise to himself to never let that happen again before feeling Xelfia's hand lift his head.

"You don't have to worry about that okay? It's like you said after all. Fear isn't an easy emotion and it takes time to get past it besides this is what I'm here for XIlo. Sometimes you need someone else's help and I'll always be happy to provide it just like you do for me. Though I can still do better that's for sure but try not to take it to heart too much okay?"

But hearing those words Xilo still wasn't happy, instead he just felt more guilty then before as he struggled to look Xelfia in her golden gentle eyes.

"But."

Seeing him still refuse to look her in the eyes properly Xelfia sighed a little on the inside seeing him like this but an idea came to mind that might help her change his attitude.

"Haaa...Silly boy."

Hearing that name come from Xelfia's mouth in a slightly mocking tone after so long a slight flash of irritation grew inside him as he started to look her in the eyes. To him it felt like she was looking down on him slightly whenever she said that and that wasn't something he wanted. He wanted to be equals in their relationship. As some of his guilt faded from his mind he stared at the smile on Xelfia's face and looked her in the eyes. But a part of him knew what she was trying to do so all he could do was be thankful and accept it.

"What did you say?"

"Oh did that get a reaction out of you...boy."

"Don't call me boy."

""......""

Silence washed over them staring into each other's eyes before....

"Ahaha."

"Hahaha."

They both broke out in laughter as Xilo finally stopped feeling so much guilt while Xelfia finally let go of his face satisfied with the results as they laughed for the next little bit before finally calming down again. Now with some energy regained and his head in a better place Xilo could finally think a little better as he spoke up what he should have said from the beginning.

"Thank you, Xelfia."

"No problem alright we're in this together. Now let's go complete this test and get out of this place. Tired of feeling like I'm going to fall any second."

"Sounds good to me."

Smiling they both faced the end where the Bunny spawned before a couple platforms away and began jumping towards it.

Enjoy
