Think Positive

On XIlo's palm a small ordinary flower started to take shape. Thankfully he had some practice with elements already or even this might have been a struggle for him. After a couple of seconds of gathering the Elemental Energy in his body it finally bloomed into a small icy flower that radiated coldness all around it. Unfortunately his control wasn't perfect or even that wouldn't be happening.

"As you can see the first element that works for me is ice. Suit's me quite well don't you think?"

Elements were always relatively linked to the user's personality so when he discovered he had ice affinity it didn't surprise him so much however it was still a little shocking to basically be told by his own body that he was a cold person. The only thing that helped ease that is there was always a chance for it not to mean that like how water didn't always mean gentle. Elements had all different sides of themselves just like people.

"Ha, My elements don't fit me either so don't worry too much about it Xilo."

"Xelfia's right and since you have multiple elements that also affects it a lot as well."

"You're right."

Feeling some comfort in their words Xilo settled down a little as he started to channel his other element. But truthfully he didn't think the other two besides ice matched his personality in the slightest and he couldn't even begin to guess what his other element meant because he had never read anything about it in documents before but maybe he would find out in the future because someone else was bound

to have it as well.

"And here's the other. Though I don't even know how I can really use it well."

He had thought of a couple methods to use his darkness but none of them quite felt right but he would figure that with practice. Thinking that he showed a small ball in his other palm that he had created out of pure darkness as it sat there and quietly hovered above his hand.

"The second element I can use is darkness apparently, Which makes me Ice and Darkness Dual Type and the third type that I can't use for some reason is fire."

"So ice, darkness and fire...Tearia do you know what darkness is about?"

Xelfia turned to Tearia to ask her since she was probably the one with the most information out of all of them especially thanks to her grandparents who had lived way longer than any of them even if combined from their looks.

"Nope, I asked my grandparents about it after figuring it out but all they said was that it was rare like many other elements in the world like Space, time, gravity etc But well elements like those ones have appeared before quite a bit not everyone has figured them out completely because their hasn't been information divulged about them. Simply put they said the best thing to do was just simply think Xilo was just lucky and forget about it."

"Then what about his fire not working?"

"that...even they couldn't give a guess as to why that was happening. My grandmother even took a look at his body and didn't find anything unusual. So your guess is as good as mine."

"Nothing we can do then I guess."

"So it seems but you shouldn't be worried about it. Some things just take time to figure out is what my grandparents said. So we all just have to be patient."

Though Tearia herself at the moment wasn't feeling patient in the slightest as more time passed on.

"Tearia is right and besides it's not like it's hurting me to not know what's exactly happening."

"Okay..."

Even if Xilo himself didn't treat it as a big deal that didn't stop Xelfia from still feeling some worries but that wasn't unreasonable. She just didn't want anything bad to happen to him.

"Oh yeah, what about your ring ability Xilo, you forgot to show that."

"Geh"

Xilo kind of hoped they had forgotten about that because out of all the things he had gotten after hitting the Transformation Stage it was probably the most normal and plain thing of all. Though it wasn't fair to not show it since he was showing everything else anyways.

"I forgot as well, what is it?"

With that the final nail was pushed into the coffin as Xilo silently deflated hearing Xelfia's voice.

"Haaa...Fine."

Honestly he wasn't really happy with what he had gotten nor did he think it would be an especially useful ability for him to have at the moment. But maybe he could find some uses for it the future hopefully. Taking his index finger and grabbing it with his other hand he focused on the ring until eventually a dagger appeared in his hand.

"This is what my ring gave me. I tried everything and anything but this would appear everytime. Honestly It's a little dissapointing. Even a defensive ability wcould have been better maybe".

But Xelfia had other thoughts seeing the dagger appear that eased some of her fears. To her it meant Xilo wasn't this giant wall that was impossible to climb over and could even catch up with some day. It gave her some hope. Though that didn't mean she didn't want Xilo to be upset about it either so she felt a little guilty thinking that.

"It's better then getting something you aren't comfortable with right? You've used a dagger in past for a little bit."

"Xelfia's right XIlo imagine getting a weapon you weren't familiar with like an Axe, Bow or a broad sword. Those weapons would probably be even more useless to you know until you learned to weild them.

"And Who know's maybe one day it'll evolve into something else. Just remember usually everyone's Ring Ability is useless or weak at the start until later on when it starts to ramp up."

Hearing Tearia remind him of that fact helped ease Xilo's worries a little bit. Getting out of that mindset he gave himself a mental slap. "Not everything is always as bad as it seems. I haven't even used it yet. At least give it a chance before putting it down Xilo..." He had to get better at thinking positive about things.

"That reminds me, What about your innate ability that you were talking about earlier. What is it?"

"Oh that...I lied."

Returning to his good mood a cheeky smile swept across his face as he had succeeded in making Xelfia believe him. Unfortunately there were still no signs of him getting an ability any time soon and while it was sad to think about it wasn't too surprising in the long run. "I mean it took others years to get theirs." He was for the most part happy with everything he already had and it wasn't like he couldn't go out and buy another weapon for him to use as a replacement in the mean time while his dagger slowly evolved as well.

Xelfia was a little disappointed hearing that but when she saw his cheeky smile she no longer felt bad for him as she turned and walked away to sit on the grass by a tree.

"Hmph."

"haha"

Seeing her stomp off Xilo laughed as he turned to Tearia on the other side of him.

"We should be good now."

"Yes I think so too."

With that Xilo started to walk to Xelfia to cheer her up. But as he was walking he felt An object fly at him at an incredible speed. Unable to dodge with Xelfia in front of him not prepared he took the brunt of the impact in his back as he turned around to see whoever or whatever had thrown something at him.

Honestly this chapter was going to be a bit longer then this but I changed some parts here and there. to make it more consice and compact and it felt better to read thankfully.

Now What or Who threw such a thing at poor old Xilo

Enjoy
