Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

The Scores

Standing over Xelfia, Xilo reluctantly stopped her from reading. He wasn't sure if he should have interrupted her at first since she seemed in a good mood but since it was getting closer until they had to leave he had choice but to stop her or else they wouldn't even get time to count their own scores. so pulling on her sleeve slightly to get her attention he waited for her to turn to him.

"Yes, what is it?"

"It's almost time to go in a bit, we should start counting our points for our little game. You didn't forget, did you?"

Slightly edging her on a bit just in case she forgot he barreled straight into the main point of their visit of today.

"Oh it's already that late huh? I didn't realize, Thanks for the reminder"

She had gotten to absorbed in her information to realize the time. Thankfully Xilo came and pulled her out of it or who knows how long she would have kept reading more information. But at least she had gotten the most important information she was primarily looking for so even if she ended up losing the competition in the end she was quite happy with the results. Reaching out and grabbing the books that had scattered around her in a mess she tidied them up since she would probably need them in a second. Xilo had already done the same himself but unlike her he had been counting his points as he was reading so he had no need for them anymore.

"Do you have your points counted up or do you need more time."

"Oh yeah, I forgot give me a second"

Turning around Xelfia grabbed her books and started to skim through what she had read and tallied up her points in total. Seeing her turn around to count her points Xilo patiently waited for her to be finished. If he said he wasn't nervous though that would be a complete lie. Well he was confident in the amount of points he counted in total himself that didn't mean there was zero chances of him losing either and he was seriously worried about such an outcome. Especially since he knew Xelfia was a smart woman herself who easily picked up and learned things as she had been taught by him from their previous travelling experience. Underestimating her was stupid plain and simple.

After a few minutes she was done.

"Ok I've counted them, I hope your ready."

With a slight smile she turned to Xilo so they could state their results. Now was the big moment for the both of them and each of them had their very own goals for such a competition but now they had to see who would win.

"So how do we do this?"

"Hmm...Let's write numbers down on paper and show them to each other afterwards? seems the most fair."

"Alright sounds good to me."

"Thought so."

Quickly writing down the results they had on some loose paper they found they handed each other their slips of paper. After that each one slowly opened it up to see the results. Xelfia was the first to see the results. The number she saw when she opened it was 42 well Xilo was the second one to open up their papers and the number he saw was.

"40...Haaaaa. It wasn't 1 point but it sure was pushing it." He had actually managed to win by just a tiny inch but thankfully it was still a win regardless and now he could take advantage of such a thing. Meanwhile Xelfia realizing she had lost wasn't totally upset about it but a part of her was a little sad. "But my reward...." Now that she had lost she couldn't get her reward from Xilo and the thought brought some slight bitterness to her. It wasn't like she couldn't still ask or try herself though but she didn't quite know how unfortunately and that was why when Xilo offered up such a game towards her she was pretty happy about the opportunity it gave her.

"So I win."

"Yes just barely."

With a slight pout she acknowledged his win.

"Don't sweat it to much, I'm sure we'll do plenty of stuff like this in the future again but I hope you didn't forget our little promise though."

"I remembered, so what do want from me since you've won?"

With a slight smirk he brought a hand to his face for a couple of seconds to take a second and figure out how exactly he wanted to go about asking such a question.

"Well actually I wanted to talk but he isn't really an appropriate place really."

"Why not here, it shouldn't be too much right?"

"Privacy is better even if no one is here right now we can't be too sure. Plus we're almost out of time anyways and this conversation might take a while. I'd like it to not be interrupted if possible."

"Alrighty then"

Well Xelfia didn't really care where they talked. She did find it slightly suspicious that he asked for such a simple thing but a part of her had a feeling it might not be so simple but she just couldn't put her finger on what exactly it was. Nonetheless she was happy to oblige to such a simple request. Not like she had a choice to say no anyway.

"Great, but before we go maybe we should exchange the information we learned now well we still can just in case we forget anything."

"Do you want to begin or shall I? Up to you?"

"How about you begin? I'd like to know what you learned personally, seems...interesting."

"Haha, interesting you say? I would say it's more headache-inducing than anything else, especially since you'll need it the most soon."

"I will?"

"Yes, you are almost at the Transformation Stage are you not and I know you don't know much about it."

"You're right, But why is it headache Inducing?"

"Because there's a lot to learn XIlo, I hope you're ready."

With a slightly Sadistic smile she began to explain to Xilo some of the things about the Transformation Stage to Xilo and boy was she right. It was a lot of information to take in.

Enjoy
