Ever since Tearia had dropped off those extra crystals she was making, Aeon had kept an eye on her. He knew this was the time she couldn't be disturbed the most and he planned to keep it that way whether she asked or not. So even if he had to be a little sneaky about it he would push away visitors that had occasionally tried to come to Tearia's room while also looking for anything weird. "There's no way this place is as safe it seems." It didn't matter who poisoned these people, any of them would have left some kind of insurance behind to make sure it went smoothly.
"Yet they evade my gaze, maybe there really isn't anyone here anymore but that doesn't seem right. I don't think we've heard any reports in other places yet so they haven't gotten to other places so what am I missing here?"
He had been to most rooms with patients and checked on most of the people still moving but nothing had felt off from them. The patients were some people he ignored since they were all too sick to even stay awake long enough for anything leaving him stumped. "Maybe I should double check again." He could never be too sure especially in this kind of situation but he couldn't walk away just yet. His best time to check again would be after her second phase. After that while she took a small break he could quickly go around and see if he could find anything again. until then he would stay in his chair and patiently wait as he guarded the hallway.
"Hopefully Telan is having more luck than me."
Most likely he was running around the city trying to get any drop of information he could while running extra errands here and there. "Haa, whoever did this sure made a lot of work for us." Resting his head in his hand he let time pass by as Tearia continued to work. Grabbing some small yellow crystallized plants, Tearia melted them with some heat and let it drip into her pot to wait to be mixed together. Within a couple more hours she would be ready to start the second phase.
"Just a few more things and we're good to go."
Passing by another landmark that Tearia wrote down, Xilo's group was quickly reaching their target. "Just a few more hours." Relia seemed to be doing fine now and Xelfia still wasn't having any problems. They already finished their last planned break so Xilo hoped they could make it in this last run. He didn't know what awaited him there but since their enemies already knew about them he couldn't be too sure of what was coming. "We'll have to be a little careful." With the sun setting the three ran as much as they could while time passed in silence.
None of them had any words to say to each other anymore and that was fine. Xelfia was still lost in thought as her body moved for her and Relia had finally managed to push back the wave of voices in her head that were splitting her apart. Azalu had sadly gone back to sleep though leaving her alone once more. "She sounded really weak so this is for the best." Those few words she heard sounded like she was barely conscious at the time and Relia didn't want to disturb her anymore. "I forced her to wake up trying to interfere." She was still a little worried about Xilo and Xelfia but they had seemed fine for the most part so far.
"Haaa..Haaaa"
With two more hours passing Xilo's group was finally coming up on their location as a meadow filled with flowers started to enter their vision. "Is this it?" Looking down at the piece of paper he had with him he made sure the last landmark was correct along with the description of the area. "A field of flowers and a giant gravestone in the center." He only saw a giant rock left in the center but he assumed it was the gravestone she was talking about and that he was just too far away to see it properly for now.
"We're finally here, Took us a bit longer than I would have liked but we made good time."
"I don't see anyone else here so let's get looking, Xilo what does the thing look like that we're after?"
"It's a flower with purple and red petals that grows short and close to the ground. It's quite rare apparently so with this sea of flowers we might have some struggles to find it so let's get searching."
"Yeah, hopefully this doesn't take too long. We should probably split up a bit and look for it but try to stay in each other's view. We don't know who's really here or not so it's better to be safe."
"You're right, you okay with that Relia?"
Shaking her head she let them know she was fine with it as the three of them split off in different directions and began to search the ground for that flower. "So many flowers." With a myriad of colours in front of his eyes Xilo remembered back to the forest where he had found Xelfia. "Red, blue, yellow, green." Colour filled his vision as he carefully scanned the floor looking for the one he was after. None of the flowers here seemed to have any rules to them either, they just grew and tangled together as they wanted.
"I should check that stone in the middle too just in case."
There was always a chance this was a wrong place so while the others were searching he wanted to make sure.
"I wonder if this was a monument created for someone."
A single Gravestone surrounded by flowers wasn't normal for a gravesite so he assumed this made for someone special.
"Who though?"
Approaching the giant stone he saw little words pop up the closer he got.
"In memory..."
