Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Being Prepared

Seeing the end so close, Xilo pushed himself a step further while sleep threatened to over take him. For around two weeks straight now he had been walking nonstop not even bothering to sleep and his body was starting to feel it. Every action he made felt slow and clunky and he had trouble keeping his eyes open but he still continued regardless. "At least there's no more Astral Beasts." Along the way he had to fight a couple wild dogs that came out and attacked him. Normally it would have been easy to kill them but with his condition at the time they managed to leave a couple scratches and bite marks on him before dying.

"That was just sloppy..."

However now sleep was so close in his grasp and he couldn't be afraid of it. With how many people were already in the town up ahead that he could see, Xilo knew there were going to be a lot more people at the castle and he needed to be in the best shape possible. "Or at least not tired." So even if he was afraid of sleeping he needed it, though he did have something else in mind. Ignoring the town in front of him and the time it would take to get in Xilo looked around for a tree that was a bit of the way off to the side on its own and walked towards it.

"I think I want to sleep here."

If he was out in the open he could enjoy the quiet of the night while also keeping his senses sharp while he slept and recently with all the inn's he had slept in they had definitely dwindled but mostly this gave him some time to mentally prepare himself. Nothing he was doing felt right anymore and he still wasn't quite ready to walk into a hoard of people on his own so this should give him the chance to think about things a little more. "Doesn't look comfy at all." Arriving under the tree's shade he leaned on the trunk as he sat down and felt his eyes quickly shut as two weeks of exhaustion came crashing down on him all at once, Instantly he fell asleep.

"Disgusting pig."

Trying to shake off the grossness she felt Tearia walked into her room at the inn she had chosen after arriving at the town. "I really hope I don't see him again." Remembering his black hair that covered half his face she recoiled in disgust, about twenty minutes ago she was just trying to have a peaceful dinner by herself but of course someone just had to come along and ruin that for her. "They always do, why didn't I just stay here?" Remembering how he rudely shoved himself onto her table and instantly started to try to hit on her she felt sick. "I'm almost surprised he didn't chase me down after leaving..." She knew those types of men and they were persistent, after introducing himself he started bragging about all the things he could give her or the likes while smiling cheerfully yet his eyes said otherwise.

"He'd kill anyone in seconds given the choice." So she tried to forget about him as she rested on her bed. "That's just going to keep happening." That was the third or fourth time today it had happened after arriving at the town. "At least nothing bad happened and tomorrow I should be good to go to the castle." Even with the disturbances she had faced she had been visiting all the popular places that had been recommended to her and had been carefully scouting out the people that were there. She figured most of them would be showing up there as well, so it was her best opportunity to grasp their strengths a bit and for the most part her results had come back satisfactory.

"Most seemed to be around the fourth and fifth level so It shouldn't be too hard tomorrow. Of course if I don't count the outliers but if I avoid them I should be fine for the most part."

She knew not everyone was there and that there was definitely going to be people above those levels at the castle but she wasn't too worried. "That bastard was one of them." The pressure that man emitted when he sat down gave her a giant scare that kept her from leaving instantly due to the pressure. "At least sixth...maybe even seventh." She wasn't too sure about that but she knew he was strong and that's what worried her. "He's definitely going to try again and if so How can I avoid him." It wasn't like she could fight him after all, at least alone that is.

"Right there is her..."

She remembered the girl that had tried to talk to her earlier as well. "She wanted me to join her group it seems and they seem to be all women so it should be safe" However a group of only women was a walking target that Tearia wanted to avoid even if she seemed strong, but at the moment she couldn't think of anything better. " If only my Grandparents were here or even Xilo.....and Xelfia. She had tried looking around for him a little bit in hopes of spotting him but she couldn't see him anywhere, which was to be expected. "He may have talked about it but it doesn't mean he's here." So it looks like she was on her own and for the first time in a while going through a test of her own.

How to take care of herself.

"Whatever, I'll think about it a little more tomorrow."

Feeling a little tired she made sure she was all ready for bed as the sun began to set. She wanted to go to bed a little early today so she was fully prepared for tomorrow. After all, each bit of strength was going to matter a lot regardless of the situation. It was something she learned a little about in the competition before and she was going to take full advantage of it as well as the time she had now.

"I can do this!"

Feeling sleep take over her she smiled as she thought about Xilo and waited for the next day to come. With some time passing soon the sun rose as both XIlo and Tearia awoke from their sleep.

Enjoy.
