~ Akira's Pov ~

I launched myself at Rivera, then quickly releasing a claw attack. She dodged out of the way, sending some of her own to slow me down. Rivera had learned from our earlier fights that it wasn't wise to fight me in a hand to hand battle. So she opted for long ranged bouts instead, but if she thought she could do this with someone stronger than her, she's mistaken...

*RAHHH!!!!*

She shouted, charging at me. I readied myself for her onslaught. I had to admit it. She was a capable fighter, even though she knew she couldn't truly beat me. She was always close behind, not making me ride too far ahead. No doubt she was training when I'm not here.

She was fierce, and it showed i her technique. Eve thought she was hot headed. Her moves were almost flawless in execution... Each strike thrown by her had the intent to end the fight instantly, but I wasn't going to give her that luxury...

*SWOSH*

I ducked and dodged her punch. However, the wind behind me indicated that it wouldnt be pretty to be on the receiving end. However, it didn't stop there. As soon As I ducked, a knee strike came towards my blind-spot...

*BOOM!!!*

"I would suggest you fight a bit more seriously, Akira. Although I love you, I hate it when you don't take me seriously." Rivera said.

Me on another hand, felt searing pain n the left side of my jaw.

I set myself straight. Then using my right hand to rub my mouth. Blood... I then licked the blood that was dripping from my lips... smiling.

"That was a good strike Rivera... a very good strike. You're getting better and better. That was a move I used a while ago... However, there wouldn't be much of a competition if I really tried, you know."

She glared at me.

"Stop your tomfoolery. Fight me, I wan't to know my limits."

"... Alright.. Have it your way"

I said, charging towards her once more...

~ Rivera's Pov ~

'It's just like that time. I can't hit him.'

I continued throwing kicks and punches, but none would connect. I felt hopeless. No matter how much I tried, it was like he could read me like an open book. It was like he was telegraphing my very next move.

He dodges my blows before they even land. As if he had known where they were going to go before they were even properly thrown...

I backed off to catch my breath. And he never gave chase... ever... and that was another variable. His unending stamina. No matter how long we fought for, no matter the attack, he was always in peak condition, like he wasn't even fighting me to begin with.

I need to know how he does it... how can he go for this long? Even if he is stronger, it isn't by much I know that, and it definitely still doesn't explain his seemingly infinite stamina. Especially his ability to track my movements with ease spontaneously.

Thinking everything over. There had to have been some kind of trick here that I wasn't aware of. Could he be that much further ahead in sheer talent?

I need to stop this for now...

I raised my hand, signalling that we both ease off for a bit.

"Akira... we need to speak."

~ Akira's Pov ~

For the first time, Rivera stopped the match...

"What do you want to know?"

"... It's about you, Akira... never in my centuries of living have I seen one with capabilities such as yours. Your sheer endurance is, above all, werewolves known, and your ability to read my movements... It can't just be skill... there has to be something more... I want you to tell me."

So she finally caught on. It wouldn't hurt to tell her. I would feel the way she does if going against an opponent like me...

"... Remember when we first met, my eyes... they were brown?..."

"Yes, I do... and now they are blue... what does that have to do with anything?"

"It has everything to do with this situation... It's also the reason I can dodge all of your moves with ease." I said.

I could see confusion written on her face. I would be too if I were in her shoes.

"Listen... I'll cut the story short. A couple weeks ago, I woke up with my eyes like this. I chalked it up to be some sort of mutation, or evolution in a sense."

"Alright... It's not like I haven't seen mutations before, albeit rarely... Some of our kind dveloped extra tails, higher bone and muscle density, larger ears and so forth... but, it's a first for me to see one with the eyes... what does it do?" Rivera asked.

"Well, for me abilities, let's just say it enhances dynamic vision... and gives me multiple ways to 'see' things, and more..."

"Hmm... Just how much more does it enhance your perception?"

"... By my estimation... it increases my perception up 60 times greater than the norm."

"..."

"..."

"You are lying... what kind of mutation is that!? There's no way... that isn't just a simple mutation or evolution. I might as well consider you an entirely new species with an ability like that. I can't rap my head around this... 60 times... I might as well be movng at snails pace while fighting you!... And you said it gave you other perks? What more do you even need!?"

Rivera ranted. I took it all, I completely understood her frustration. I knew know that she decided she didn't have a chance in hell to truly beat me, not with an ability like this...

"Well... I can control my perceptive abilities, it was the reason you managed to catch me off guard earlier. It wouldn't be fair if I really used all my perks in our spar. Hence my earlier statement... 'it wouldn't be fair', and as for the other abilities... you'd hate me if I told you..."

I told her truthfully.

"Still, better now than never, Akira. Plus, I wouldn't hate you. That's next to impossible. However, I would not like fighting you, even if I get some eye candy in the process..." She said.

I chuckled at her response.

"Well, do you know why I tend to not tire in my fights against you?"

She gave me a confused look, then a look of realization...

"Don't tell me it's because of those eyes!?... Now that you mention it... when we faught the second time... you had those eyes... are they also the reason why you never ran out of energy?!" She shouted.

"... Maybe..." I responded. Looking to the side.

Her eyes were starting to twitch violently...

"Wow!! would you look at the time. I have... someone to meet up with... I'll see you later Rivera, I'll bring you some ice-cream when I come back. See ya!"

I said, dashing out of there...
