Chapter 40: Rewards?

  "Eternal Glory" does not have a novice village in the strict sense.

Players can choose where they want to enter the world, well that is for VIP players like Qin Feng.

Their avatars are born nobles from the start and are to choose from the existing noble clan's in any of the camps.

If you choose from the chivalrous clans, you automatically join their camp, same goes for the Guilty (Evil).

the Neutral camp on the other hand wasn't optional for the VIP players.

    All general players are randomly born somewhere and would slowly cultivate and dabble through Jianghu, surviving through tribulations until their deeds and reputation decides their camps, Neutral camp included.

No one knows how the 100 thousand VIP players were chosen, just like how the selection for beta players was wrapped in mystery.

Qin Feng looked at the familiar interface and could feel all sorts of emotions welling up within his body.

The character model was just a lightly edited version of himself, black hair, brown eyes and a slim build.

The game "Eternal Glory" adopts a real name system and your avatar can't be too far off from your real self.

You can only modify your appearance by 20% at best.

All players cannot modify their IDs in a strange way that would seem rude or weird, your character either get blocked by the system or the way NPCs react to you would be very 'interesting'

Qin Feng remembered a few incidents during the Beta testing, one player was hunted down repeatedly by a clan because of his Avatar's looks, he had made a character model with an overly enlarged nose and shifty eyes.

Another had used a name which translates to 'Shit eater' and automatically blocked after a while.

So the government has 'advised' players to use their real names.

And then, when encountering players with the same name in the same area, in order to avoid problems, they would immediately expose a number similar to an ID above the two player's heads.

When Qin Feng was done with the basics, he got a random personality and trait but then he kept re-rolling until the button turned gray.

After that, a cinematic video began to play, showing different Martial artists from all over Eternal Glory.

The camera hovered over the South before zooming in and speeding across different scenarios with different combat scenes.

Qin Feng wasn't in a hurry as the game wasn't starting till tomorrow. So he watched the videos in excitement.

He saw a man in a fishing village, wearing a bamboo hat and fishermen clothes, fighting off some black clothed people with a paddle for his canoe.

Then it moved to what looked like a sect with a large amount of disciples dressed in black and green as they practiced with their daggers.

Haa! Haa!

Several other scenes appeared before the camera view moved west at a blinding speed.

It showed a blonde haired man battling a team of armored knights.

Another scene had a red haired woman teleporting behind someone and stabbing him ruthlessly.

Qin Feng has always known the East was riddled with constant strife, it showed a battlefield with people fighting over something, but the leading fighters was a man with yellow hair and wrinkled face, he was fighting the other lead character, a teenager dressed like a scholar, he seemed like the one with the treasure.

Then it moved to a battle going on, between two airships and their crew.

Next was the North, this was also the place Qin Feng played during the Beta testing.

He travelled at least 45% of the map and fought many bitter battles as an external cultivator.

So he had a lot of feelings for the map.

The video began from {Youyun prefecture}, somewhere he knew very well at a first glance.

Some Shaolin and Wudang disciples were fighting off a group of red clothed men who proceeded to beat them half dead and castrated them.

Qin Feng couldn't help shuddering at the sight as the disciples were dragged away to be forcefully initiated.

Then the video moved on to the {Dragon pass} where a Yanmen general was fighting an ugly man with crutches next to a village filled with corpses.

He swung his saber ruthlessly but seemed to be of equal strength with the enemy.

Then it moved to {Iron Crow City} in the far north, at a crowded hall, a man in black robes ruthlessly shot out with a blood red Palm, murdering everyone in sight until someone came to stop him.

His enemy looked like a bloodline user, as the figure of a golden lion condensed behind the man.

"Mad Lion Zhao Ye ma!!" Qin Feng was happy to finally see a character he knew.

He soon saw the assassination that happened outside and felt his blood boiling!.

Then the scenes switched to a chaotic city, with battles going on everywhere.

"Looks like a lot has happened, so the game continues even when the players are offline?... AWESOME, So realistic!" Qin Feng spoke sheepishly, "It seems a lot has been happening in this {Iron Crow City}".

The scene switches once more, till it played a battle with the same black robed man, albeit dressed in a different attire.

He battled two other people and won.

"So the game uses the in game incidents as cinematic trailers?!" Qin Feng continued watching until the end before the system asked which area he would like to start from.

"The north of course!"

Then different clan names began to appear, with the ones with available slots being at the top.

Apparently, each clan mostly had about 20 VIP players registered to them but those on the verge of declining had higher number of slots.

So Qin Feng went for the latter, since he felt he'll be able to get much more important tasks in that kind of environment.

Upon clicking any clan name, it would open up a new tab, showing pictures of the leaders and other features.

Then at the end of the page, you see

And so Qin Feng continued to weigh his options until he saw the black robed man from earlier.

He raised an eyebrow and said, "and I'm supposed to feel bad?, This Bish hmph.
