Zion looked at them carefully as they went through the stuff that he and Rivar brought, just in case someone tried to trick them because those types of things happen a lot, especially if one doesn't want to pay the right amount to the workers.
Rivar looked at Zion as he paid close attention to them and his brows furrowed.
'All this time that I have been with him, I noticed that he is always like this, he always pays attention even though some around him, may think he is not, sometimes....' Rivar thought before exhaling deeply, snapping out of his thoughts.
The guy with the glasses smiled then looked at both of them with his eyes narrowing and a sly smile appeared on his face.
"Why are you smiling like that? Is this not what you wanted, sir?" Zion asked and the guy chuckled.
"No, that's not it, it's not like that, Zion was it?" He asked and Zion nodded.
"I see, well, everything is exactly the way it should be, that's great, I will pay you guys the right amount of money," He responded as he placed a bag of money which would be equally divided between the two then he looked at them.
"Another thing, seeing the way you guys are, it's obvious that you guys are the types that change jobs often and are struggling a little, is that right?" He asked and Rivar clenched his right fist.
'Yeah, that's right," Rivar responded and the guy, turned his back, walking away from them and the young man that was there, glanced at his master.
"Then, would you guys like another job with double money?" He asked and Zion glanced at him and Rivar left staring at him.
"What do you mean?" Rivar asked and Zion glanced at him as well.
"A job that would be risky, you could get hurt and if things go wrong, you can even get killed, it all depends on what you are capable of doing," He responded.
"A job like that? Only adventurers and hunters along with the others within the other guilds, would do such a job, we are not from any guild," Rivar said and the guy turned around to look at both of them.
"With this mission, if you accept you will be going with other experienced people, it's a job in a broken-apart dungeon that was here years ago, you don't have to be in any guild or have an official title for this, just permission if you get through on this mission, I will triple the price," He replied and Rivar's brows furrowed.
Rivar looked at Zion, who seemed to be more focused and Rivar sighed, knowing that they needed the money to do many things, since so far, since they had known each other, all they had been doing was constantly working.
"Think about it, you have until tomorrow after, take the money," The guy said.
"Thank you, we will think about it," Rivar replied then the guy nodded and Rivar collected the money and both of them left his office.
After leaving the office, they went to the lobby within the guild and Zion came to a halt.
'I have to move forward, more forward...' Zion thought with a piercing look in his eyes and Rivar glanced at him and his brows furrowed, wondering what he was thinking about so intently.
Rivar tapped Zion on his shoulder and the boy sighed, then glanced at him and Rivar smiled a little before asking him what he was thinking about and Zion smiled at him.
"Just about a few things and we need the money as well, don't we?" He asked and Rivar lowered his head.
"Yeah, it's true that we do, but the job, this is not like what we are used to doing," Rivar responded and Zion sighed before looking at his hand and removing part of the bandage.
"Then, I will go alone with them," He said as his eyes narrowed and he clenched his fist then Rivar looked at him.
"Hey, are you crazy? You don't have the type of skills needed to go in there, I know we need money, a lot of us do, not everyone has luxury but..." Rivar replied and Zion scoffed.
"Ah, I know I don't have what that is, as yet but I intend to, I have no intention of staying the way I am, for the sake of my survival, I have to grow as well, we cannot remain the same, if we do, we will always be pushed around by those around us," Zion said in a slightly harsh tone and Rivar lowered his head.
"I know that, very well, but..." Rivar replied and Zion placed his hand on his shoulder and Rivar glanced at him.
"I understand if you are worried and you have every right to be, but this opportunity, relax, leave it to me, I will be back, perfectly fine, it's not like I haven't learned anything from the life that I have lived until today, I have no intention of living this life for longer, there are things I want to do," Zion said and Rivar smiled a little.
'For the sake of my freedom and to get what I want, I have to get rid of every obstacle, I have to get stronger if I want to get out of this miserable life,' He thought then glanced at Rivar.
"I get it, believe me, I do, then if that's what you want, I won't stop you even if I still think that it is a terrible idea, experience is necessary and maybe just maybe, this path is indeed our way out of this life, we might be able to finally leave all of this," Rivar said and Zion chuckled.
"Then, give him our answer, I will be the only one going, you stay here," Zion replied and Rivar sighed then nodded before leaving to go give the guy their answer and Zion clenched his right fist and his eyes narrowed.
'Things are going to be different this time, I am not the same person I used to be, I will not be used by anyone, never ever, I am going to have to get stronger, gain the skills I need, after all, survival of the fittest is a rule in a lot of places, this is one of them,' He thought as his eyes narrowed with a piercing look in them.
