Chapter 37: Revenant
"What do you mean?"
The two began questioning him about the disappearance of his colleague, the neighbor, and the assault on four cops.
"Assault?" he asked, tilting his head.
"Yeah, you attacked several of our officers. Gave them concussions and permanent head injuries. None of them can work day shifts anymore, the light hurts their eyes too much."
"Huh," Kemal said, trying to hide his smirk. "Look at me, though. Do I look like someone who can take on four police officers?" He held his hands out. They assessed his size.
"I'm a professor at Columbia for god's sake. I sit behind a desk and lecture students. I'm not at the gym every day."
"It takes all sorts," Arnolds said. Kemal nodded.
"I understand, but I think I'd better get myself a lawyer. Best to be on the safe side," he said and gave them a polite smile. The detectives tried to get him to talk again, but he put his hand up and shook his head.
