The morning sun shone brightly in the sky as Ye Jin followed her mother to the market, her basket of herbs balanced on her hips. The market was filled with the sounds of chatter, haggling, and the occasional clatter of carts moving along the dirt-filled roads.
The walk with her mother was quiet, as usual, and Ye Jin appreciated it, as it allowed her to think about her next course of training.
When they finally got to the stall, Ye Jin helped her mother, as usual, to arrange the goods. Just as she was about to slip away, she heard Su Hao's soft voice.
"Xiao Jin, do you still resent me?"
Ye Jin paused, feeling anger course through her. She was feeling the original Ye Jin's emotions.
Su Hao, on the morning before the original Ye Jin had died, had screamed at her, saying that she wished she had a boy instead of Ye Jin and that she was tired of the taunts the other women threw at her every day.
