When he opened his eyes again he saw a grey ceiling, the room doesn't look big but it's not small either.

So this story is set around early 1981, the pitiful heroine is only child of a working class family of a single parent. Her father is an assistant director.

The heroine lived a good life and is considerate and lively but her nightmare started after her father died of 2nd heart attack.

Her grandmother only cares about money and other relatives are even more of a headache and might eat her alive. Knowing his family very well before his deathbed he entrusted her to his director and old friend to be married to his youngest son and in turns his family will overtake his position while a single room home in her name is kept by her.

His arrangements were well but the said youngest son named Fu Sinian is a scum.

When he was 17 he was send back to countryside by his father while his 19 yrs old second brother was allowed to take over his mother's job and lived in city. As a vengeful person he remembered this debt and hated his father and 2nd brother a lot.

But only after going down for 4 months college entrance exam restarted. He took leave and got back to city to prepare, at that time heroine's father died and his father got him married to heroine Tang Xixi. His father used connection to get him long approved leave so that he can take 2nd exam in spring as he need to jot the knowledge, on condition that he will marry Tang Xixi.

After passing the exam he was admitted to Heicheng University and leaved home to stay in school and after that he rarely comes home.

She wanted to get away from the situation but was unable to do so, many rumours

were circulating against her and her reputation took a toll , what she doesn't know that all this is pre arranged by her scumbag two faced fiancee. He deliberately let them be seen by his troublesome admirers, even spread gossip that she is shamelessly hanging herself on him. Even the lecherous second generation rich was deliberately led by nose to her by him.
