Let's make Sandwich

'I guess I can understand why he wanted to hide the truth. Nobody wants to die because of winter.' Rose sighed as she entered the kitchen alongside Stain and her maids. But, as soon as she entered the kitchen, she was shocked.

It was designed the same way as her home. It had a huge table with lots of cooking utensils over them and there were many seats in front of that table. It was just like her restaurant.

"We have gathered all the ingredients we could. We didn't use our ingredients rather brought these from the Human State." Stain spoke as he saw her lips widening with surprise.

"Wait, human state? Isn't that the same place where my mom and dad are staying? By the way, if everyone lives in humanoid form, why not ask my parents to live with them?" Rose asked with confusion. She thought they lived like wolves so Alan asked her parents to live with humans.

But, now everyone was living in humanoid form. She didn't even feel that she was living among wolves. That's why she was confused why Alan suggested them to live with other humans.

Suddenly Stain rose his hand and lift his index finger. After that, he lifts his middle finger and finally the ring finger. When he lifts the ring finger, a sound rang throughout the royal palace.

Aoowwwww!

"Your highness timing for asking a question was perfect. The royal meeting has started. It could get a little ugly now. When her highness attends the royal meeting, please stay by his majesty's side. We still inherit the genes of the wolf race."

"So, whenever we get angry or talk loud, we tend to release the killing intent. Since your highness doesn't have strength, it would be the best choice to stay close to his majesty for protection." Stain spoke as everyone heard the howl of a wolf.

"Do I have to attend the royal meetings?" When she heard the killing intent, her body trembled. She looked at Stain with teary eyes and asked.

"It is impossible to skip the royal meeting unless her highness has an urgent issue to face." Stain spoke as he looked at her eyes and sighed.

He turned his head at the maids and told them "Stick out your tongues!"

As soon as those maids hear those words, their aura changed. Rose was surprised when she saw those sharp eyes. And, when they stick out their tongues, she got even more shocked.

They had a black cross on their tongue. Stain walked behind them and looked at Rose "Your Highness, they are one of the best guards. They are trained to protect our future queen. They are now your personal guards."

"Except them, trust nobody! You have seen the joy and happiness of the kingdom when his majesty brought you but you haven't seen the cruelty. This world is not black and white. Everything is gray. Wolf Tribe might die to protect you but some people of the same tribe might die to kill you."

"Whether you leave the royal palace or stay inside, don't leave their sides."

Rose was shaken when she heard his words. She thought she would be safe inside the palace. But, it seems she was wrong.

'Die to kill me! They will surely get killed for killing me. But, if that is their objective then, it would even more dangerous. I can't stay weak. The only way to save me is to get stronger.' Rose clenched her fist she thought.

'But, first, let's make the breakfast!' Rose nods her head at Stain and walked towards the table. She saw a bunch of different utensils. But, for the food that she was going to make, she didn't need a lot.

She looked at the meat of a chicken placed on one side. She thought for a moment and looked through other ingredients. She was surprised when she saw the bread. She thought for a moment and finally decided on making the sandwich.

First, she had to cook meat. Unlike the previous time, she took a few slices of chicken breast and puts it on the hot oil. Then, she started making the paste. This paste was for the taste. Using several seasonings alongside salt and chill powder.

She mixed everything with water. After she made the paste, she took out the half-cooked meat and dipped it on the paste.

She kept it there for five minutes and then put it right back. After that, she cuts some onion and tomatoes, and cabbages. After that, she took out a few pieces of pieces of bread. She spread the butter on the inside of the slices of bread.

After that, she took out the meat that was cooked. She placed the meat on it. Then, she looked for the cheese. She thought she wouldn't find it. But, Stain had brought even these. She placed it above the meat. Then, she placed all the veggies.

Finally, she covered everything with another piece of bread. Like that, she made ten more sandwiches. Stain walked away to call Alan while the maids looked at her with curiosity.

"Do you have any questions in your mind?" Rose turned her head at the maids and asked while placing the sandwiches on the table.

"Aren't you going to cook those vegetables, your highness?" Erie looked at her with confusion. She thought humans eat everything after cooking them.

Rose smiled after listening to them and shook her head "Nope! We do eat cooked food but that doesn't mean we have to cook every single food before eating. Some of the vegetables can be eaten without cooking them."

After a minute, Alan entered the room. He looked at the maids and swing his hand. Erie and others swiftly left the room leaving Rose and Alan alone in the room.

"So, what do we have for breakfast?" Alan walked closer to the table as he asked with a smile.

"Sandwich!" Rose passed the sandwich to him and held another one with both of her hands. Alan looked at her closely and observed her eating it. This was the first time Alan was eating something like a Sandwich. He was very curious about the taste.

When his teeth bites the upper layer of the bread and pierced inside, he got the taste of the butter. Slowly, the taste of onion, cabbages, and tomato also entered his tongue. But, none of them excites him.

Only when he got the taste of the covering the meat, his excitement rise. After taking the first bite, he savored the taste of the sandwich with his eyes closed. But, when he opened his eyes, he noticed Rose was already eating the second one.
