Hu Dongtian only accepted the tea without thanks.
He had been acting cold with Mo Aini these days. He wanted to distance himself, to save himself from further disappointment. And the only way to do so is through lesser interaction. He needs to see Mo Aini less and less, as less frequent as possible despite him being his secretary.
So, he would only reply shortly to him.
No small talks.
No eating meals together at dinner.
His actions to be as dismissive as they are harsh and frosty.
And that proves to be quite easy to do, but not at the same time. It is easy to do the deed, but it's difficult to not feel guilty or want to give up doing it. It's hard to resist being open with his thoughts and becoming vulnerable to Mo Aini. He suffers that everyday.
Little did he know that Mo Aini suffers the same.
