"Were you talking to me? I didn't hear you say anything." His red-head ikemen* roommate blinked, pointing to himself. "Don't worry, I'm still here. You can tell me anything."

A new hologram screen visible only to Mo Aini came at the side of the red-head character.

BACKSTORY

Gou Manchu is the undefeatable star player of the Nushen Red Hounds Soccer Team and had also been its team captain since his freshman year. He came from a middle-class family and with his talent at sports, he can get to any university he wanted to using an athlete scholarship.

He likes mantou and dumpling noodle soup the most and cannot get enough of them. He is scared of cats and easily gets sick when he gets caught in the rain.

A very extroverted guy, he is known to treat his friends old and new to a meal whenever he gets the chance. His downfall is that he may get too sensitive to other's feelings and he never knows when to give up.]

Mo Aini thinks that the 'too sensitive to other's feelings and never gives up' shouldn't be counted as a downfall. This guy is the picture-perfect jock that gets along with everyone!

From the descriptions alone, Mo Aini could tell that Gou Manchu is the complete opposite of Hu Chuntian in this game. Therefore, he's definitely NOT his sister's type!

It would be very difficult to convince her to play his route.

The profile has no promising features of him being a bad boy in the slightest, he's the good genki boy. Which is a shame, because he honestly prefers this type more than the arrogant Hu Chuntian if it was him.

Gou Manchu has a very likable face and a nice build, you can tell at first glance that he really was an athlete. The contour of his muscles stretch his thin clothing, he was wearing a red soccer uniform. His jersey had the logo of a dog's open maw and inside the mouth was his name and his number, 01. His high socks covered his thick calves and he was wearing red and white rubber shoes.

He was the epitome of manliness, except for his puppy-dog eyes.

His thick eyebrows were constantly upturned, like he was always concerned with something. When he smiles, deep dimples add to his boyish charm. His bright red eyes that are only possible to have as an anime character have light shines that make it appear sparkly. If he was a dog, he must be constantly wagging his tail whenever he sees his friends.

Mo Aini felt like was being blinded by this dazzling Yang energy, his aura might be even brighter than the sun!

"I'm alright, Gou Manchu." Mo Aini replied. "I was just dazed from waking up.... I had a bad dream."

Mo Aini came up with excuses quickly on the go. He was used to doing that with his parents all the time.

"Oh, what's it about?" Gou Manchu asked curiously. "Was it scary? I heard that if you change your lighting at night, it might help with nightmares. I have a multi-colored dim light exactly for this purpose so I wouldn't have nightmares and lose sleep! Coach said we should have a nice and comfortable sleep so that we would be energized in the day! You can borrow it if you want! You can try out different colors to see which would help you calm down in your sleep the most!"

He sure is talkative and eager, Mo Aini would give him that.

"Really, it's fine. You said we'll be late for school, so we better get ready." He waved Gou Manchu away and left his average bed with average sheets and pillows. It's like they were just gotten from stock photos of economy class single beds.

"I'm already all set up, I'm just waiting for you so we could leave the dorms together." Gou Manchu said, sitting at his own personalized special bed. It fits his character palette along with the decorations at his desk and the walls on his side of the room.

"You don't have to do that, you can go if you want." Mo Aini searched around the room for his towel and things.

His clothes in the closet are just multiple copies of the same outfit, and he had three outfits in total. One for school uniform, one for casual, which was just a black hoodie, and one set of pajamas.

He really was just a side character.

"I always leave the dorms with you. What kind of friend would I be if I leave my roommate behind?" Gou Manchu peered over to him. "Are you really sure you're alright? You're taking too long to choose your clothes."

Mo Aini's rolled his eyes, thinking: (Yeah, it's really difficult choosing between School Uniform No. 23 and School Uniform No. 24 that looks completely the same.)

"I'm really fine, you can wait outside while I take a shower."

Gou Manchu nodded cheerfully. "Okie-dokie, Ai!"

It really bothered him to be called 'Ai' by someone he just met. After taking a shower and wearing one of his copy-pasted school uniforms, he joined Gou Manchu outside and locked the door with the keys.

"Here, I bought you an egg sandwich while you were showering since you haven't had breakfast yet!" Gou Manchu handed him a plastic bag, flashing his celebrity-worthy smile.

Mo Aini felt nostalgic and remembered his high school days when he really had thoughtful friends like this, before they separated ways in college. He really was too old for this kind of heartwarming gesture, he forced himself not to cry. "Thank you."

"Don't mention it, Ai!" Gou Manchu wrapped his arm around his shoulder like the big buddy he is.

"You shouldn't really call me Ai, though." Mo Aini smiled sheepishly, looking if there was someone else around. "People might misunderstand."

"But your name is Aini, right? I always give my friends nicknames." Gou Manchu said. "Ni doesn't sound good, it's like I'm just calling out to you rudely."

Mo Aini's thoughts: 'Curse my parents who gave this stupid name!'

"How do I commonly refer to you?" Mo Aini asked.

"Eh? Just Gou Manchu, really. Why?" Gou Manchu answered.

"Then you should just refer to me as Mo Aini, since none of us is a senior to the other."

"Aww, I wanna give you a nickname!" Gou Manchu complained as they walk down the steps of the dormitory building and out to the school fields. "How about Da Ai*?"

"Sounds too much like a popstar girl group's name." Mo Aini shook his head.

"Ai-Er*?"

Mo Aini's flinched. "That is much worse than just being called Ai. It sounds like I'm your concubine or little kid or something."

"Then something manly like Mo-gongzi!*" Gou Manchu suggested.

"You really won't give up with the weird nicknames, won't you?" Mo Aini sighed, biting on to his egg sandwich. It tasted heavenly. "Anyway, where should we go for the first class?"

"It's the first day of our senior year, so I guess you wouldn't be familiar with the new classroom. It's right over there, I'll take you over before going through our morning soccer practice." Gou Manchu said.

As they walked, they heard a few students whispering among themselves.

"Hey, have you heard of the new theatre goddess that moved to our school?"

"I heard she was crowned the most beautiful student on her previous all-girls school."

"I follow her on Instagram and Tiktok, she's really good at acting! And very pretty too!"

"Look she's over there! She looks as pretty as a lotus flower!"

The mob student characters pointed and cheered as a girl came walking 20 meters away from them. She had a high ponytail and clean-cut bangs, looking plain as hell yet still have a halo effect around her. An arrow pointed to her that can only be seen by Mo Aini, showing the character's name.

MO JIAGEI (MC)

Mo Aini pursed his lips: (What the heck, it's just my ugly sister.)

"She's really beautiful, isn't she?" Gou Manchu said beside him, practically drooling.

"I don't think so." Mo Aini answered honestly.

"You have a strange taste if you don't find her attractive, Mo-gongzi." Gou Manchu chuckled. "You've been here since grade school but you never had a girlfriend."

"No one here catches my interest, that's all." He said. He preferred more mature women anyway than girls his age.

"I'm going to approach her." Gou Manchu said excitedly. "What should I say?"

Mo Aini had an idea. "You know what? I have a better plan than just approaching her like you're some random guy who's interested in her."

Gou Manchu tilted his head to the side, confused. "But I am interested in her."

"Girls like that don't like eager men. They want to be the one chasing after you, not the other way around." Mo Aini spoke like a true expert. "You need to make a good first impression that you're not just a loser fawning over her like everyone else."

"How do I do that?" Gou Manchu asked.

"I have a plan."
