"Luna," a damp cloth wiped my body, "Luna." I heard him calling for me, but I felt too weak to speak.
"Is she okay?" Damian asked someone.
"Hmm..." a wrinkled hand held my wrist, I assumed it was the Shaman, "what did you do to the poor lass?"
"Nothing," Damian growled defensively, "what should I do now?"
"We need to reach our destination sooner, rather than later," the Shaman sighed, "she just needs rest."
My mind wandered thinking about where this safe place was.
Another hidden cave maybe?
For a while, I slipped in and out of consciousness, feeling Damian's hands constantly stroking at my skin, cupping my face, his lips kissing my forehead as he spoke gentle words of reassurance.
Yet, no matter how hard I tried, I could not lift a single finger, let alone open my eyes and speak back.
I wanted Felix and Cass. I wanted to feel safe.
The carriage came to a stop at a jolt.
