Sinopse

A typical cold and handsome CEO? He is too adorable to be cold, and with a sharp tongue that would often leave others stunned speechless. Doting Husband? He loves to watch her enjoy a bowl of ice cream and listen to her soft snores while she is peacefully asleep in his embrace. A Slave to the Daughter? They met 17 years late but he showers her with 100 years’ worth of love and doesn’t let male hormones get 300 feet anywhere near her. Backstabbing friends and White lotuses? Hell yeah, and they will get their just desserts because karma is a 10 year old and she is unruly, unreasonable and unstoppable. Scheming Bitches and Arrogant, Narcissistic Jackasses? If they mess with the wife, they will feel the combined wrath of a possessive husband who has too much time and money, and a smart daughter with enough skills to destroy careers and ruin lives. And if they covet the husband, they will be dealt with by a cool headed wife who hides her emotions behind her icy eyes that could pierce through facades and freeze their soul. But if they dare cross a particular brat, that is when they will experience a catastrophe. Dogfood and Faceslaps? Plenty to go around, with a strong plot that balances other aspects equally for a wholesome reading experience. And then there is Domino. Who is she? Read to find out. Chapter 1Last Wish

The light brown walls and the warm lighting gave off a calm, peaceful vibe to the room, while the large rectangular window to the side displayed a busy night view of the city below.

The room was not big but spacious and comfortable. A couch was placed by the window and a small table to side with some fresh and colorful flower in the vase on top of it.

In the middle of the room, there was a large bed with some type of medical equipment placed on the side. On one end, it was connected to the monitor attached to the wall above displaying green and blue lines rising and falling in a pattern, along with the numbers corresponding to it.

On the other end, a bunch of wires were plugged into the machine that were then pulled over the bed and stuck onto the chest of the old man lying there.

He seemed to be in his late 70s as he lay there, weak and pale, in a white patient gown. He was nicely tucked in the bed with pillows under his neck and head, and a thin blanket covering him up to his chest. There were tubes attached to one of his arm and an oxygen mask over his face which he pulled down as he conversed with the young woman seated by his bedside.

"I'm afraid, Violette…" He spoke, his voice trembling and barely audible. "I couldn't protect your mother, and… And I wasn't there when you needed me."

"No, Charlie. It wasn't-" Violette tried to speak but the old man didn't give her the chance to complete her sentence.

"I'm truly afraid, Violette… "He continued, as he poured a little more strength into his voice. "I'm afraid to leave you all alone… I'm afraid that once I die… you won't let anyone else… into your life and… you will continue to punish yourself for…"

"I will be fine, Charlie." Violette finally seized the chance to speak, her voice firm but monotonous. "And you will be fine. Don't think about anything else now."

There was a moment of silence before Charlie slowly forced himself to open his eyes to take a peek at the young lady seated at his bedside.

Violette kept her head low as her shoulder length honey-blonde hair was a bit messy and falling over her face on one side. She was wearing a grey, long top over blue jeans with black, flat heeled ankle boots.

Charlie gazed at her through his blurry vision for a while and let out a tired sigh.

"Violette, we both know… I'm at the end." He spoke, the faint light in his half-open eyes fading further. "I don't want to die with regrets."

There was another brief period of silence as Charlie wanted her to consider his words carefully, while Violette was momentarily at a loss for words.

At the end, it was Charlie who spoke again. "So, would you… reconsider… the proposal?"

"Charlie, please. I-" Violette was interrupted as the door behind her was pushed open and a tall, lean man stepped into the room.

He was dressed in a black shirt and grey pants, and held a dark grey jacket in one hand. His dark hair was swept back while the light mustache and beard around his cheeks added a bit of a rugged look to his otherwise refined persona.

He dropped his jacket on a chair nearby and slowly made his way inside. He stood by the bed, just beside Violette as he observed the old man on the bed.

"Lucian…?" Charlie called out as he felt the man's presence in the quiet room.

"I'm here." Lucian answered curtly, his tone heavy and somber.

"Did you… decide?" Charlie asked directly without any delay, his tone a bit hopeful.

Violette who was seated by his bedside however, shifted uncomfortably in her chair and turned her face away.

That small movement attracted Lucian's attention towards the woman but he couldn't see anything past the curtains of her hair that was shielding her face.

And after another curious glance, he turned his gaze back onto Charlie and answered firmly. "Yes."

"Hmm..." Charlie muttered under his breath with a semblance of a smile on his face, as if he already knew what Lucian decided. Then he spoke again. "Violette?"

After a few seconds of silence, Charlie took a painful breath and continued. "Listen, Violette. Life… is a long journey… and… I don't want you walking it alone."

Violette took a sharp breath in and balled her fingers into a fist as she kept her head low and tried to keep herself composed.

"Let go of the past and… start your life, Violette. I'm sure your parents… would wish the same." Charlie continued as he willed himself to stay awake and conscious for just a while more. "Treat it as my… last wish. Let this old man… rest in peace, will you?"

"O-Okay, I… I'll do as you say." Violette finally replied, her voice quivering with multitude of emotions.

"Good, that's good." It was as if her words gave him new energy, Charlie opened his eyes with a bright smile on his face. Then he put the oxygen mask back on and took a big breath before he pulled it down and called out loud with vigor.

"Jake! We have a wedding to perform." The strength and intensity in his voice betrayed his fragile state and pale complexion.

The door to the room was slowly opened and a man with a short grey hair popped his head inside for a quick look before he let himself in.

Jake was a stylish and handsome man in his early 40s but with a youthful aura about him. He was wearing a black shirt with a grey suit vest and blue jeans. He had a couple of leather and silver bracelets on both his arms while a gold chain was hanging down from one of the suit vest button and going into the pocket on other side.

He exuded charm and finesse but with a hint of playfulness glimmering in his light green eyes. He had a bewitching smile on his face which added another layer of charisma to his unique temperament.

Lucian didn't even spare a glance to the newcomer as he kept gaze firmly fixed on Violette. She however, gave her whole attention to the old man lying on bed who now appeared to be much healthier than a minute ago.

Jake walked in with exited steps and gave two strong pats on Lucian's shoulder before he looked at him with a proud expression much to the other man's annoyance.

"I knew you'd agree, Lucy." Jake spoke with a big grin spread across his face.

Lucian gave him a deadly sharp look and unceremoniously threw Jake's hand off his shoulder. "Are you so eager to die?"

"Hey, watch your words. We are in a hospital." Jake reprimanded him with a mock serious expression.

Lucian thought it would be beneath him to continue bickering so he decided to simply ignore him. Jake also didn't continue as there were more important to do so he went and stood on the other side of the bed.

"Did you prepare everything?" Charlie asked as he briefly closed his eyes and took a short, heavy breath.

"Of course, Professor. The documents are all signed, stamped and officialised." He replied with a grin as he lifted the briefcase he carried in and opened it.

He took out a small sheaf of papers and put the briefcase down as he looked at the couple on the other side of the bed. "The only things missing are their autographs."

"Let me see those." Lucian asked as he stretched his hand to grab the documents from Jake.

Jake let Lucian take the documents as he reassured him. "Don't worry, I filled all your details properly."

"That's what I'm worried about." Lucian replied as he began to go through the documents.

"What? Are you really doubting your senior disciple brother?" Jake feigned hurt as he closed his eyes and shook his head as if he couldn't believe those words.

"Yes." Lucian answered without any hesitation while Jake looked at him with an exasperated expression and simply threw his hands up in surrender.

Devilish secretary

After centuries of ruling the underworld with terrifying power, Lilith dies in an epic battle, only to be reborn in the human world. But instead of a grand rebirth as a queen of darkness, she's reincarnated as something far more mundane—a secretary. Rather than despair, Lilith finds this new life amusing. After all, who would suspect the devil herself to be working a 9-to-5? Settling into her new reality, Lilith embraces her role, living in a luxurious apartment and working diligently in her office. Though her devilish instincts are hard to suppress, she's determined to be the perfect secretary. But when people push her too far, the devil within still comes out to play. When a creep in the office dares to look at her the wrong way, she calmly fixes her gaze on him. "You keep staring like that, and I'll show you what a broken wrist feels like." The man quickly scurries away, leaving Lilith with a satisfied smirk. Even the rich, entitled girl from accounting isn't safe from her wrath. "You think you can push me around just because you've got money? I've burned entire kingdoms for less. Don't test me." She says this with a calm smile, her eyes glinting dangerously. The day continued like that—stopping creeps in their tracks, putting rude heiresses in their place, and being the flawless secretary she intended to be. But, of course, her boss—the CEO—had his eyes on her, more curious than ever. And while the entire office might fear her or wonder about her, she remained blissfully indifferent. This was fun. And she wasn't here to impress anyone but herself. Who knew being a secretary could be so... interesting? Author here, to say something good about the story. Hehe Writing Quality and Stability of Updates: I have confidence in my writing and storytelling ability. I may not be able to write a chapter every day, but every chapter I publish will be thoroughly edited and free of grammatical errors and inconsistencies. I take extra time and make sure my readers have a smooth reading experience. Currently, I'm updating one chapter per week but I'm working on providing more regular updates and will try to update as frequently as possible. That being said I guarantee the quality of my writing and the story will not deteriorate. Story Development and Character Design: I tend to start my novels at a slow pace. The first 15 or so chapters will be slow, as I like to take my time establishing the tone and personality of the main leads and the other important supporting characters. As such, the later chapters will pick up speed. And don’t take the main characters at their face value, as Lucian is not just a CEO, actually its just his temporary title. He is much more and his actually profession is something cool and interesting. In similar way, Violette is not just a damsel in distress and she won’t join the entertainment industry which is a go to in almost all such novels. In fact, she is an architect and most of the story will revolve around the fields of building construction and business administration. Every other character also has their purpose, backstory and will have their happy ending. But maybe not all characters. Some of them deserve to be face slapped and taught a lesson, right? Hehe. The characters all have diverse personalities and are grounded with their own life events happening which will tie in with the main plot later on. Speaking of main plot, it isn’t all about romance and fluff, but there is a major plot brewing in the background with all the intrigues of mystery as we unravel it slowly one layer at a time. Also, the kids will be the highlight of the story. Yes, there are more than one kid and no, the focus of the story will still be the husband and wife, but the kids will play a significant role which I’m sure will be very entertaining to read. World Background: Story is set in the few fictional cities located in Canada and parts of Europe. We will explore those when we get to it. And lastly, I would love to read serious critique tearing apart my book than an obligatory 5 star review. Im not saying I dont like 5 star reviews, I love them and I will be humbled if you feel so. But dont think too much about how to put together a proper review. Even a silly comment saying 'LOVE THE STORY SOOOO MUCH. PLEASE UPDATE MORE' will be appreciate just as much. Thanks for reading my story!

Pursuit of Love: Adorable Husband and Precious Wife, is a work of romance by KCChary. It was a pleasure to read the novel. The title itself evokes a sense of relationship. The book revolves around the life a woman named Violette. After a final wish from Charlie, an old man who is treated as family for the two parties, Violette was persuaded to marry a man whom she is bitter to. The man goes by the name, Lucian. Personally, what I love about the book is the contrast between the two. One is prideful and a bit bitter to her husband, the other is caring, patient, and sweet. I've read novels similar to this, and so far, it's a great read. The book itself contains all the elements of a good romance novel, but it follows a common trope. Just by the synopsis, one could easily predict what will happen next. When writing a synopsis, your aim is to gather the attention of readers, not describe and predict what will happen or what the characteristics of the characters are. If one would read the synopsis, they would automatically figure out that in the end, they get together even if they were once far apart. As much as possible, characters should be hidden, plot shouldn't be spoiled, characteristics shouldn't be shown. I will give an example of what a synopsis should be like: "The romance of the desert has the power to seduce. I ask you, have you ever loved so much? Been so possessed by jealousy, that you might kill?" -Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie, movie adaptation. Another way to make a great synopsis is through figurative language. I will give an example: "The people applauded as their hearts raced to see who would triumph over the final flames. Then came the men who couldn’t live by their mistakes and there, the truth was revealed; she couldn’t accept it. Time fell under these men as they aimed to repeat what was forgotten." -Time and Order by NK_Cruz The synopsis above can grab the attention of many. One would ask: What was forgotten? Who were these men? What did the author mean by the final flames? What mistakes did these so-called men do? Who is this "she"? This is only a suggestion that I would like to say. You can still keep it if you want, or you could change things up a bit. The important thing when making a synopsis is that it makes the readers wonder or question themselves. It motivates them to read. When it comes to grammar, I couldn't find any flaw. Most are correct, some are technically correct. Punctuation marks were used properly except for the "over-dosage" of ellipses in the first chapter. The descriptions are vivid; this includes character design and world building. Overall, the plot is good, though it follows a common trope. Nothing wrong with that; I can see the author has written some twists of her own. As for the stability of updates, I'm uncertain of whatever that means since I'm new here. I'll just rate it five. To close my criticism, I would like to compliment the author for his or her novel. Word choice is absolutely brilliant. -Dann Giovanni.
