You still love her

Chantel stood outside and looked around. She had been trying to find Adiepena ever since they had their little argument but could not find her anywhere around the house. She was about to return to the house when Adiepena stepped inside, closing the gates behind her.

"Adiepena, where did you go? I have been looking for you everywhere," Chantel said as soon as she set her eyes on her friend.

Adiepena looked at Chantel without smiling. "I just went out for a walk to clear my head. Listen, Chantel, I am sorry if I allowed Kevin into your home. I am not going to do that mistake again. I am really sorry," she said and tried to walk away from Chantel when she got close to her.

Chantel quickly held her hand and turned Adiepena to face her but she looked away.

"Adiepena, please can we talk? Please. I don't like it when you are mad at me. Let's talk, please."

Adiepena breath in a sigh and nodded lightly. Chantel smiled gently at her.

"Can we go to the garden? It's much more private there," she said and led Adiepena towards the garden.

They sat on the white metallic chairs in the garden.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about? If it's about last night, forget it. I understand I should not have allowed Kevin here without your consent. And, I am very sorry about that. But you should also understand that I had no choice. You were being harassed and if Kevin had not being there, I don't know what would have happened to you..."

"Wait! What do you mean I was being harassed last night? What happened? Why can't I remember anything?" Chantel looked quite shocked when she asked those questions.

"You really don't remember what happened, right? Well, Kevin said when he came to get you, you were with a man who seemed too close for comfort. And you were happily engaging him. He also said the man looked like he wanted to have sex with you right where you were standing, well, those were HIS words, not mine," Adiepena explained.

"What? I don't understand anything. Kevin came to get me?"

"Yes. I asked him to. Actually he offered to come get you because I was busy with Cynthia. And that was when he found you with the man at some part of the dancefloor. You two were very close for comfort so he got in between and even fought off the guy because he was being an ass. Wow, I can't believe you can't remember all that. Anyway, it's all in the past now."

"So, what happened after that?"

"You really want to know what else happened after we left?"

Chantel nodded with a smile on her face.

Adiepena started to smile when she saw the look on Chantel's face.

"You kinda mumbled that you still loved Kevin on our way home and even called him handsome," Adiepena said as she laughed.

Chantel suddenly frowned. "That can't be right. I hate that guy. I would never say such a thing to him."

"I know that. But that's what happened. The thing is, he was holding you whilst I held on to a sleeping Cynthia. You kept moving and giggling a lot. We were scared you would hurt yourself that's why he held you so that you don't do anything stupid. That's when you started saying those things to him. Initially he did not even want to hold you but I guess he could not resist at the end."

Chantel began to blush but quickly regained her composure. "Wow. Thank you for bringing I and Cynthia home last night. And I am sorry for snapping at you like that. I shouldn't have. I am really sorry about that," Chantel said to her friend.

"I should rather apologise to you for allowing Kevin into the house. I just did not have any choice. But, I promise not make that mistake ever again," Adiepena said and held Chantel's hand.

"No, my friend. There is nothing for you to apologise for. I really appreciate what you did for us. I can't believe I rather embarrassed myself when I was the one who took you there for us to have fun. I feel so terrible now," Chantel blushed again. This time her cheeks turning a deep shade of pink.

Adiepena laughed harder and shook her head. Then Chantel hugged her, catching her unawares.

"Thank you for being there for me. Even when I slip up real bad, you are always there. I love you very much, AD."

"I love you too, Chanty. And you are also my best friend. I would do anything for you," Adiepena said and hugged her back.

After both girls broke the hug, they began to laugh hysterically. Anyone who would be passing by at that moment would think they were both going out of their minds, but they did not really care. They were both happy to be there for each other.

Meanwhile, Kevin and Bismarck were also home having some coffee by the dinning table. Actually, Bismarck hates coffee and prefers to drink tea. Kevin is the one who loves the black liquid more than anything in his life. He can just drink coffee and not even eat his breakfast, lunch or supper. And he loved it without milk or sugar. Which, Bismarck found irritating as hell.

"I have always warned you about this. You need to stop drinking that black stuff. It is detrimental to your health. Why do you always take it?" Bismarck said with a disgusted look on his face.

"I like it because it helps me think straight. My head hurts a bit and I need to work on a fee things. I will need all the energy I can get," Kevin replied.

"Especially since you got yourself into a fight because of Chantel. I really bet you need all the energy you can get," Bismarck winked and teased his friend.

Kevin rolled his eyes. "Not now, Bismarck. It's been a terrible night. I could not even sleep a wink last night."

"Were you thinking of her? I mean, it's really obvious you still love her," Bismarck said.

"I do love her. I love her a lot, Bismarck. And seeing her again just brought back lots of memories. She doesn't even want to have anything to do with me so I guess there is nothing I can do about it," Kevin said as he sipped on his coffee.

"Listen man. I don't know but maybe it might be the alcohol talking, if it is anything to go by, I think Chantel also loves you. You saw the way she was behaving around you. She might be angry with you now but that does not mean she does not love you. She cares about you. Just give it time, okay?" Bismarck said.

Kevin nodded his head lightly. He hoped Bismarck was right about what he said. He hoped so much he was right.
