Chapter 36: Shifts in the Atmosphere

“Maria! You’re awake!” said Vulcana who almost hugged me but stopped in case she hurts me.
Around my bed are Vulcana, the Archmage, Valareia, and Alymar. Smokey is sitting on my lap, making sure to stay as close as he can to me. Currently, I have enough strength to sit up and properly greet my guests. That also allows me to the see the flowers around my bed. Most of which are from Aren based on the note.
But I do notice someone is missing.
“Where’s Sara?” I asked.
“Visiting Olivia, can you believe it? She’d rather visit that…person instead of you.” Vulcana said with barely contained fury.
I’m not going to lie, not seeing Sara sucks but I understand. Actually…
“I’m glad Olivia gets at least one visitor. I imagine she isn’t very popular right now.”
“That the least she deserves. I can’t believe you’re actually glad about it. Do you…really forgive her?”
