Chapter 4: Feng Xiuying

It took Yin Ping 2 hours to finish reading *cultivation fundamentals * and it ignited his obsession right away.

"Interesting, interesting! God didn't abandon me! This world is actually tailor made for me! Cultivation, what a fascinating practice.

Starting from Body Strengthening, building a solid foundation for a body to host supernatural energy and powers, using the energy Qi as a medium to achieve the impossible, heaven defying strength!

"Using Qi as a guide, refining all those parts is not hard but it is bad for kids under age of 6 to do so, since it is a painful process. Kids will not tolerate that kind of pain level.

But what if it is an adult in a child body? I think it is worth a shot, though it has to be done in secret, since my parents will absolutely refuse even if I am a genius, it is written that some kids gone mad, others were crippled because of pain, which resulted in misguiding Qi into the right places for refinement" Yin Ping, a researcher in his previous life is more than willing to go through blood and tears to find the truth, he decided that he will experiment it on himself.

Yin Ping who was considered a science genius graduate will definitely do a thorough study before starting his experiments, hence he started reading basics of body strengthening techniques, there are more than one and he decided to read them all to get a better 360 degrees picture on the task.

"According to what I have read most middle-class families and above teach specialized body strengthening techniques to their children along with fundamental Qi refinement technique, which will ensure them to be top-notch cultivators.

There are basic techniques here but I'm sure there are better ones in the sections above 6" grumbled Yin Ping as he was eyeing Section 6 shelves.

Taking a look at the back, seeing Elder Jin holding his mouth with tears in his eyes confused Yin Ping for a moment, but he quickly ignored him and walked to Section 6 stealthy, fast and study.

Since he is short, the further he can see is the 6th shelf from the bottom, out of 10.

Running his eyes quickly over the shelf levels, he found what he want.

Yin Ping quickly picked up these books and hid it inside his robes and walked back to section 5 as fast as he could.

Just as he was about to reach Section 5, he found Elder Jin standing right in front of him staring at him with interest

"What were you doing there?" staring intently at Yin Ping's eyes.

Yin Ping was starting to sweat, he was worried that he will take away those books from him

"Ehm, I saw a beautiful butterfly that look like a fairy so I followed it, but she disappeared all of the sudden" Lied through his teeth.

What he didn't expect was Elder Jin's expression to change "What?! Are you sure?!" he started looking around for awhile then finally looking back at Yin Ping with suspicious

"Yes! Why would I lie to Uncle?!" Since he believed it, then keep pushing it, judging from his reaction there really are fairy-like creatures in this world, lucky guess!

Elder Jin mumbling something then looked at Yin Ping again "well, since you seem to be bored, you can leave now, I'm sure you know your way back right?" said meaningfully.

"Understood, thank you uncle! I will come back again." Yin Ping said as he was running back to his room.

As Yin Ping was running back to his courtyard, he happens to bump into his father, carrying a little girl who looks around the age of 1.

Yin Ping looked at her, then looked at his father, who was looking back at him with curiosity "Ping'er what are you doing here? And why are you in such a hurry?"

"I was in the library reading some books after Mom dropped me there, now that I'm done I'm going back to digest what I learned.

Though I happen to run into something rather interesting" Yin Ping eyes were darting between his father and the red haired little girl, who looks like she was curved out of the highest quality Jade stone while looking at Yin Ping with big blue eyes that were slightly red from the dry tears that she had shed.

"Ping'er! It is not what you think! Do you really believe your old man is such a person?" Yin Yang started sweating when all of the sudden, a cold chill run down his spine.

He can feel it, there is a life threatening person right behind him.

"Oh? Then do you care explaining yourself, dear husband?" Dongfang Xue appeared behind Yin Yang all of the sudden causing a chill to both father and son together.

Praying in his heart to that he can explain before he dies, he braces himself and start narrating what happened.

On his way back to the city after completing a mission in the mountain range near the area, Yin Yang heard a terrifying roar resounding through the forest, followed by a baby cry.

Curious and worried about the baby, Yin Yang followed the sound and what he saw shocked him.

There was a couple on their last breath, shielding their baby from what appear to be assassins, judging by their corpses around them.

Couple of steps away from them, there was White Tiger sitting while staring at their little girl, although the couple were vigilant, they were hopeless as they were dying themselves and they even can't move.

When Yin Yang arrived, the White Tiger shot him a glance and then left, Yin Yang recognized that White Tiger and cupped his arms to him, he was one of the overlords of the mountain range and was quite smart and friendly to humans.

*WAAAAAH!*

*WAAAAAH!*

By the time Yin Yang approach them, the father already passed away.

The mother gathered all her strength to take one last look at her daughter and then looked back at Yin Yang with difficulty.

"F-Feng Xiuying…" the mother followed her husband. Yin Yang can see her extreme worry and unwillingness about her daughter.

"I swear to the heavens on the name of my clan, Yin, and on my name, Yang, to raise and ensure your daughter safety along with my own child and make sure she live the life you wished for her." Yin Yang solemnly swore decisively, as he can see she can't be saved.

Heavens rumbled, thunder struck, attesting that the Heavens accepted his vow.

The mother finally closed her eyes with a visible relief as she nested next to her husband.

As a father himself, Yin Yang understands her worry, especially with her daughter's current situation.
