The beast king

As the carriage left the person sitting in the tent carefully came out to inspect and then ran towards the Captain. He woke the captain up and said to him

"Captain Ville, how was it possible for that boy to beat everyone? You especially." The man asked

"Second young master Laine, that teenage boy is already at intermediate yellow rank if I'm not mistaken. The only person that can fight him here is the young mistress and she's currently in the clan under house arrest" Captain Vile said groggily

"About that, it was not me that decided to come here in search of the mysterious artifact. The idea was brought up by Lillian herself, so right now she is on her way to the lair." Laine said nervously

Captain Ville immediately became scared and nervous because if anything happened to the young mistress, the clan leader would have all their heads on stakes.

Laine then said "I'm sure she has a shadow guard with her, she does not know that father has a shadow guard on each of us, so she should be relatively safe, isn't that right?" and then looked up waiting for a response.

After waiting for three breaths of time, a sigh was heard and a dark silhouette appeared "Yes young master, but you are mistaken about something. We are not supposed to come out till your lives are in danger. And I have a bad feeling about this, the boy was clearly in intermediate yellow rank, but I could not feel the person in the carriages' cultivation bases which means he is of a higher rank than me or does not have a cultivation base at all and the chances of it being the latter are almost null."

"WHAT??!!" Laine exclaimed "Which means the person in there is either at peak blue rank or above?? But that is clan leader level. What is a figure like that doing here? Except they are here for the mysterious artifact that little sister is looking for."

"We need to go there now. Wake everyone up. We need to go and help Lillian before it's too late" Laine said to the shadow guard and Captain Ville.

They went in the direction that Midas and the carriage had taken.

The people they were following and trying to stop were already at the lair of the beast king and Midas could sense an aura that he was gut-wrenching. The only person he had felt this aura from was his master, albeit it was a bit weaker than his master's.

The carriage started to dissolve into the earth as Licht floated softly to the ground using the wind attribute.

"I can sense the fragment inside. Let's go" Licht said and walked into the lair, leaving the horses outside.

As they continued to walk, they reached a turn and bumped into a woman.

She had black hair and a face as if extracted out of a painting. Her eyes were golden brown and her lips were thin. She had a startled look on her face and then it turned into a pondering look.

"For you all to be here, my people are either dead or incapacitated, which means you clearly have the ability," The woman said

"We just knocked them out. You are not our aim. Leave our way" Midas said forcefully.

"Ohhh, I sense you are at the intermediate yellow rank like me. You do not think I would just let you pass and probably take what I have been stalking out here for over a week. Prove to me you are worthy." As she spoke, she unsheathed a rapier from her side and the temperature became very chilly. She had the frost attribute

Midas just sighed and summoned the frost python in its weapon form. It was in the form of a 2-meter-long spear, emitting frost from its tip.

Midas had been trained in the basics of swordsmanship and the way of the spear in this short week he was with Licht and Licht planned on making him adept in every weapon.

Midas dashed forward with the spear and was in front of the young woman. He struck forward and she parried it then attempted a counter-attack which Midas dodged.

He moved backward with a flip then swung his spear, she ducked and was about to stab Midas but the spear turned into a snake and coiled around the woman.

She could not move. Midas might have won the battle but he lost in the experience. She had years of training with weapons and fighting while Midas only had a week of training under his belt.

She was actively trying to escape but she could not. Midas released her and walked towards his master who then continued onwards into the lair without saying a single word throughout. He looked towards the ceiling then smiled but still continued forward.

"That guy is dangerous. He saw through my shadow skill." The shadow guard assigned to Lillian thought while sweating.

Licht just continued forward into the lair till he saw a giant space around four hundred meters in diameter.

In the center of the lair, there was a huge scaled behemoth. It looked like a mix between an alligator and an elephant.

It was over 50 meters tall, and it was scaly with claws that could rip through a house like a hurricane. It was currently sleeping and was not bothered with anything in its vicinity.

In its grasp laid a blue crystal that was almost neglectable due to how small it was. It was the aura emanating from the crystal that brought Midas attention to it.

"Master, is that the fragment you were talking about?" Midas asked

"Indeed it is" Licht nodded

"How are we going to get it from that massive beast, master?" Midas asked quite fearful of the size of this behemoth

"I just walk up to it, beat it up, and take back what's mine," Licht said without fear in his voice.

Midas grimaced, looking at his master and the beast over and over again.

Licht walked up to the beast. As he got closer, the beast was roused from its sleep.

It arose groggily and it looked even bigger than before. It roared immediately it saw Licht and waved its tail towards Licht.

Midas saw the colossal tail come towards his master.

"Master, watch out" He yelled

Licht smiled and stretched out his hand and a collision occurred.
