Getting used to it
It had been hours since a lie had been uncovered. It had been hours since Genesis sobbed in her brother's arms. And it had been hours since she felt anything at all. Most of the time in between she just ate junk food and stared at the tv, often making jokes with Ethan but not saying anything about it earlier.
She had taken a warm bath and had changed clothes. She then enjoyed the rest of the evening with Ethan. Nothing about earlier was said. No one cried, no one even recalled it.
After a good 3 movies and half of the fourth one Genesis fell asleep.
The lease Genesis had signed with this apartment was yet to renew and she still had a few more months, so there really wasn't a problem with her coming here. She had not canceled the lease for this exact reason, because sometimes she wanted some space. And spending the afternoon with Ethan here had done her some good at least.
