Chapter 39

It's been 8 days, and my two pokemon already finished learning all of the moves I wanted them to learn.
It was about time to go to the pokemon gym, and see if I can challenge it now. For the past few days, I've been walking around the town. I can say that this town heavily focuses on researching. They like researching about pokemon, berries, items, and many more. All of the people here are curious, and I can see how Professor Oak must have been raised with a community like this.
I tried looking for him though since it would be cool to see a young professor Oak. Unfortunately, I didn't find any kid with a Samuel Oak as a name but I did find some people with the same surname of him though.
It was a family of three, and they like studying about pokemon. I'll visit this town again next time, and maybe I can meet the future Professor Oak in here once I return. I plan to kidnap the young Professor Oak, and raise him to be my own tool. I don't care if the future will be messed up by this since having a genius person as an underling is much more valuable in my eyes. Or maybe I should just befriend the young Professor Oak and make him trust me. Either of those two plans can benefit me.
Professor Oak has great talents and is also great in finding people with talents. He would be a valuable asset for my benefit. I'll also like it if I can find other significant people, I'll benefit alot from having connections with them.
Well, this can only happen though if I have the adequate strength to do it. For now, I have to think about getting stronger.
"Liz, I'll be going to challenge the pokemon gym after this breakfast. You want to come with me?" I asked after chewing my food.
"Hmm… I'd rather stay here to read more books, master." Liz answered.
"Alright, remember to read about Golbat's methods in increasing his potential. There are many valuable books and information here compared to the two cities we have visited so far." I replied to her. We found a library here which only has a cheap price to pay for one to get access to. Liz was in that library for many days now and I let her be since that was a part of our deal.
"Yes, master. I'll make sure to find a cheap and effective method for Golbat. Can I request that we stay in this town for about 10 days after you finish your pokemon gym? I want to read more and I think it will be helpful for us, master." Liz asked.
"Of course, I'll let you stay here but I'll be going to the Pallet Forest after the pokemon gym. I plan to catch more pokemon for us to sell. I need to raise money for my pokemon to grow stronger." I answered.
"Alright, master." Liz agreed. She might have stopped me from going before but she believes in my current capabilities and trust that I'll get back safe.

After having breakfast with Liz, I went towards the pokemon gym of the town. It was located at the center most part of the town.
A few minutes of walking, and I arrived at the place. I walked towards the entrance of the pokemon gym but it was closed. I looked at the note on the door, and found out that the gym leader isn't available in the meantime.
"Are you here to challenge the pokemon gym, kid?" A voice asked from beside me.
"Umm… yes." I told to the man asking me.
"The gym leader is currently busy taking care of the rampaging pokemon in the Pallet Forest. It was said that a Grand level pokemon is rampaging in the forest 3 days ago. The gym leader with some of the police officer jenny went to the forest to hunt down that pokemon. Apparently, the grand level pokemon was hurting other pokemon in the area. This made the Pallet Forest turn into a chaotic place." The man said.
It looks like a dangerous situation is happening right now. I can't go in the forest since I still can't handle a grand level pokemon. I'll be dead if I meet one so I'll be stuck in this town for quite sometime before I can move out of here.
"Thank you for the information, mister." I replied while bowing my head.
"No problem, kid. Don't go out of the town yet, it's better to be careful. It will take about 3 days before the gym leader Sam returns. You come back here after, and I'm sure that Sam will let you challenge her by then."
"Yes, mister. I'll be going back to the inn then, mister. Have a nice day." I replied to him and walked away from the pokemon gym.
"Alright, be careful too kid." The man said as he waves at me.
I went back to the inn and go to the training grounds to just train my pokemon. I can't do anything than to just wait for the situation to be fixed. I'm not an idiot to just go to the forest and look for trouble.

3 days passed and I just poured my time in training my pokemon. I looked around the town everyday, and I noticed how the town people are being restless about the situation.
I am too since the gym leader, and the other police officer jenny have not returned yet. I don't know what is happening but I feel like something bad is about to happen.
I was training my pokemon in the training grounds of the inn when I see a blinding light coming from the center of the town. I got curious and went towards in that direction. I saw Liz walking to that direction too so I walked together with her to go to the place where the light is coming from. The light was actually coming from the direction of the town plaza.
Many other town people was also in the town plaza and I can see an Alakazam making the light that attracted our attention.
