In an effort to alleviate the embarrassment, Floyd focused his attention on making Pokéblocks. As he did so, his points increased once more, surpassing 1 thousand. Floyd understood the reason for Bianca's presence; she was there to keep watch over the sleeping Starly on the bed. Initially, when he first arrived, Floyd hadn't noticed Starly, but as he sneakily glanced at Bianca while preparing a Pokéblock, he happened to see the Pokémon.
Bianca's other Pokémon weren't there, except for Poochyena, who had just arrived a few minutes earlier and lay down beside Bianca, surprised to see Floyd there.
Bianca, meanwhile, struggled to focus on her work, feeling uneasy. She tried to steal glances at Floyd, who was absorbed in his task, and attempted to regain her composure and concentrate on her weaving.
…
"Boss, you're here! I missed you. Haven't you played with me anymore?" Swablu greeted Horsea with a cheerful flutter of her wings.
"It's not that I can't play, but I haven't had much time. Master has been strictly training me, and I'm so pitiful ಠ_ಥ," Horsea responded with sadness.
"Yes, boss, you are indeed very pitiful," Swablu sympathized, her eyes suddenly lighting up as she remembered something important. "Boss, I have something to tell you, I have a secret."
"A secret? What is it?" Horsea, previously immersed in sadness, now perked up, intrigued by the 'secret' that Swablu mentioned.
Swablu leaned in and whispered into Horsea's ears. After a moment, Horsea's eyes widened in surprise. "Really?"
"I'm not joking, I saw it," Swablu assured her.
"Now that I think about it, earlier, it did feel weird. There must be something going on with them," Horsea speculated, sharing her thoughts with Swablu.
"Boss, how about we…" Swablu suggested, whispering again with a mischievous gleam in her eyes.
"You little bird, you're so cunning," Horsea chuckled.
"Ku ku ku, of course," Swablu laughed proudly.
"We should definitely make a plan," Horsea said, and they both started to brainstorm.
After a few moments, they agreed, "Okay, tomorrow," nodding in unison.
They both began to laugh, looking forward to their mischievous plan for the following day.
…
An hour later, Ursaring awoke, confused to find himself in an unfamiliar setting. He saw his son sleeping beside him and noticed Floyd busily making Pokéblocks, while Munchlax lay sleeping.
"Chansey," Chansey had returned to her clinic with Happiny. Seeing Ursaring awake, she greeted him happily, relieved to see he was fine.
"Oh, you're awake. Let's go back then, young one. Wake up; we're heading back," Floyd gently tapped Munchlax's head.
"Mu-mun-munchlax," Munchlax slowly opened his eyes, saw Floyd, and questioned, "Munchlax?"
"We're leaving. Let's go," Floyd urged and then proceeded to head outside with the Pokémon. He also noticed Bianca sleeping with Chikorita and Starly, while Poochyena silently guarded them and nodded at Floyd. Floyd returned the nod and continued on his way.
A few moments later, they returned to the Safe Zone. The wild Pokémon there looked at them, surprised to see Ursaring perfectly fine and without any visible injuries. They were somewhat astonished, knowing that Ursaring had been severely injured before and that healing him might have taken several days.
Ekans joyfully greeted Teddiursa. Floyd then offered food to Ursaring and Arbok. "I keep my promise. Here's your reward for being the first to challenge my Fraxure and helping him. I'm giving you a victory prize, even though you lost," he said, adding a bit extra, considering what Fraxure had gained was greater. The Pokéblock was of intermediate grade, specifically tailored for Normal and Poison Types, ideal for Arbok and Ursaring.
Both Ursaring and Arbok were surprised and sighed in relief, seeing that Floyd really kept his promise and even did more. They had already started to trust Floyd's credibility and began considering whether they wanted to fight again.
Other wild Pokémon, envious of Ursaring and Arbok's treatment, couldn't contain themselves. Beedrill rushed towards Floyd, eager to challenge him. This was followed by others like Onix, Rhydon, Weepinbell, and almost all the wild Pokémon there, but unfortunately, Floyd didn't have his Pokémon with him other than Munchlax this time.
He excused himself, saying they would fight later at night, reasoning that he didn't have his Pokémon with him.
When someone gestured towards Munchlax, Floyd shook his head, refusing to let him fight just yet, stating they should wait a few more days. The wild Pokémon, feeling regretful, accepted this and returned back dejectedly.
After returning to his own Pokémon, Floyd resumed their training. Upon encountering Linh, he asked her for his guidance in martial arts. They sparred again, and Floyd defeated her even more quickly than in their fight the day before. Linh, feeling unwilling to accept this rapid increase in the gap between their skills, sighed dejectedly, thinking enviously about Floyd's talent.
She also sought advice for her Pokémon. Floyd suggested she decide whether she wanted her Tyrogue to focus on Attack, Defense, or be Balanced, considering Tyrogue's potential evolutionary paths. He also mentioned that her Tyrogue seemed close to evolving, so she should think carefully about her choices.
For Mankey, he suggested training it to control its anger, warning that extreme rage could be harmful. For her newly caught Machop, Floyd recommended practicing boxing as a foundation, considering its final evolution into Machamp.
Linh took his advice seriously and then left. Shortly after, Kang Jihoon appeared, challenging Floyd's Pokémon. Horsea and Elekid fought again, and despite a type disadvantage, Horsea won the battle. Kang Jihoon felt a bit dejected, realizing he was still far from Floyd's level in commanding and training Pokémon.
Floyd looked at his newly caught Squirtle, which was silently watching. He teased Kang Jihoon, "I really thought you were going to catch Wartortle?"
Kang Jihoon sighed helplessly, explaining, "The Wartortle I wanted to catch defeated my Elekid, and others I tried to fight wanted to battle, but my Elekid was injured, and I didn't bring healing powder. This little guy was the only one who willingly went with me, so I chose it."
"I really doubted if Electric really suppressed Water types. I fought Wartortle and lost, and I fought your Horsea and still lost," Kang Jihoon added sadly.
"You're just unlucky you met a strong Wartortle first," Floyd reassured him. "But it's actually good catching the initial stage. Although it might be a bit weak at first, you can improve its foundation, and commanding it is easier than an already evolved one."
"I know, but it will take more time," Kang Jihoon sighed.
"It's your responsibility as a trainer to improve them quickly. Initial stage Pokémon are a good choice because they're like blank paper, knowing only a few moves compared to middle-stage and fully evolved ones who have already developed their own habits using certain moves. It could cause conflict if the trainer and Pokémon have different beliefs and perspectives, you might be the one who needs to adjust, otherwise, the Pokémon might not listen to you," Floyd advised.
