Pokemon: Blood Bonds

Twenty-two years old, a young man named Alan dies but is born in a new world due to his good karma. What world, you may ask? Of course, it's the world of Pokemon. Will he keep his memories? Will he get a system or a cheat like other Mc's? Well, you will have to read to find out. Follow Alan on his journey in the world of pokemon. ***Disclaimer*** I am not knowledgeable about pokemon games and this is how I always imagine myself in the world of pokemon. The story will be slow as I don't want the mc to grow super op in just few chapters. I hope you give my book a chance. I do not own anything related to pokemon except my Oc characters.

Prologue

In an empty room, coloured in white, two figures sat facing each other with a table between them and two cups of tea placed before them respectively.

"So, I died?" the boy, who was 22 years old, asked the man who was sitting in front of him.

"Yes."

"Then why am I not freaking out?" he asked back with confusion still written all over his face.

'Am I in a very realistic dream? But the last thing I remember is a truck hitting me at full speed, so maybe...'

His thoughts were interrupted when the man gave him an answer to his unsaid questions.

"Alan, 22 years old. Nothing noteworthy, just a normal guy who lives as life goes," he spoke as he looked at a sheet of paper that appeared in his hand out of nowhere, "you died after being hit by a truck while crossing a road when you were too engrossed in your phone."

After he was done reading through the sheet, it disappeared, and he raised his head, looking Alan straight in the eye, "as for why you are not panicking, it is because that's how things work here in the afterlife. We don't want you, mortals, to freak out and waste our time; hence we make sure to use our powers to keep you calm."

With each word the man spoke, Alan's face went through a series of expressions, but every time, it would turn back to a calm face, where he would once again become surprised and return to being calm. But it did not take long before Alan truly relaxed as he accepted his new reality.

'So I died, huh? Even though my life had not been as eventful as others, I still loved it. I bet mom and dad would be crying; I hope someone deleted my desktop history before they find out about it.'

As he thought through many things, the man sitting in front of Alan made sure to stay silent not to disturb him.

After he was done thinking things through and coming to terms with his death, which made him oddly at peace, he looked at the man and asked the obvious question, "now what?"

Will he be sent to hell or heaven? Or will he be reincarnated in those fictional novels he had read while he was alive?

'I had never done anything terrible or never have I been harmful to others. So my chances of going to hell should be negligible, but...'

His thoughts came to a pause when he remembered how he stuck a pencil up the butt of his best friend when he was about to sit on a bench right in front of him during a math class.

"...surely that doesn't count, right?'

"We have our ways of calculating your good and evil deeds; once you die, they turn in Karma Points which if negative send you to hell and, if positive, may lead you to heaven or reincarnation depending on the amount you have," the man explained with a professional smile, "as I said earlier, we don't have a lot of time to waste on you so shall we proceed with the results?"

Even though he asked, it did not mean he would not check the result if Alan refused as the man already had another sheet of paper in his hand, which according to Alan, was about to decide his fate.

He would be damned if he said he was not nervous; if not for the 'magic' this man was using to keep him calm, he would be freaking out like he never had before.

"According to your points, you shall..."

*Thump*

*Thump*

'Will you say it already,' thought Alan as he saw the man take a brief pause, 'I bet he is having the time of his life and judging by his expression, it's not the first time he has done it.'

"Going to hell..."

"WHAT!!"

"...of a ride since you will be reincarnated. Heh."

The man finished his sentence with a slight smirk at the end of it, 'as much as I say 'we don't have much time,' I love seeing the expression these mortals make.'

"Will you stop playing with me!" finally Alan snapped; he almost died while being dead. From what he could imagine, hell was not a place you wanted to be in.

"Anyways, your Karma Points are positive, so you are not going to hell, but they are too few to send you to heaven, which means you will be reincarnated. Of course, it would not be the same world you came from but something different."

As the man spoke, he did not care about the turmoil Alan had just gone through.

Once he was back to being calm, Alan gave the man a hateful look before he asked a fundamental question, "where would I be sent to? Will I also get three wishes? Can I choose the world...."

"No."

"Huh?"

"Did you think you are a protagonist of a fictional novel?" asked a man with a smirk.

"Then would I be randomly thrown into a different world?"

"No, there is a small process for this all, which we will begin right now. You better pay attention since this will lock your fate for the next life."

The man waved his hand as he spoke, and a giant spinning wheel appeared right beside him. The number of sections on the spinning wheel was uncountable, but there were many that Alan could recognize.

"MHA, Naruto, One Piece, Harry Potter, DC, Marvel, Pokemon...."

Alan read through as many as he could recognize while there were many, making him feel a chill down his spine. E.g. World of Zombies or many similar to it.

"So are we going to spin the wheel to decide my fate?" he asked; with all the options that are written, he was sure his luck might send him to the worst possible place.

"You do not have enough Karma Points to decide your world, so this is the method we will use to determine the world you will go to for your next life."

"Can I keep my memories, or will they be whipped off?" this was a million-dollar question for Alan. If he could keep his memories, it would be a great boon to him, but if he could not, well, it is what it is.

"Yes, but you will have to use your Karma Points; we will come to that once we have decided the world you would be going to."

As he said this, without wasting any time, he spun the wheel so fast that all the letters written on the wheel disappeared, and it took it a full three minutes before it finally started to slow down.

'Please be something magical but also something I know of. One Piece, Naruto, MHA, any one of these, please, please, please.....YES!'

Alan, who was praying in hopes of a world he knew about, became happy when the wheel finally stopped at the world he loved the most. But,

"FUCK!"

"What did you say?" asked the man as he saw Alan shout at the top of his lungs.

"Ahem, I am sorry about that," immediately apologizing, Alan kept looking at the wheel; he did not know if he should feel happy or cry about the final result.

[Pokemon]

The world that Alan would go to was Pokemon.

"Why does it seem like you are not so happy about it?" asked the man, confused as he saw the varied expressions from Alan.

Giving a wary smile, Alan explained his inner turmoil, "as much as I love pokemon, even to the point it is my favourite anime of all, I still don't know anything about it. I have never played any pokemon game, nor do I know which types counter each other and all the things about pokemon. The only thing I have watched is anime, and I bet the real world is not as simple as it is shown on a kids Tv show."

And this was true.

Alan loved pokemon as it was the anime he grew up watching. Still, he had never played any games related to pokemon, so all the knowledge he had of pokemon was shown in anime where Ash would fight even against type disadvantage and win due to his 'bond' with pokemon and also plot armour.

Alan also knew he was not smart enough to strategize his tactics as other people would. He had read a few pokemon fanfics, and he could tell how smart some of these authors were with their tactics, and he was sure he was not even close to that level.

"Kek."

Suddenly a tiny laugh was heard in the silent room, and Alan raised his head to see that it was from the man sitting in front of him.

"Kid, did you think you are going to be in some kind of a game?"

"Huh?"

"The real world of pokemon is very much different to what you think it to be. I won't say much, but just that you are in for a ride once you find out how different and similar the world of pokemon is to what you have known about it."

Surprised by the man's sudden aspiring words, Alan felt better, but then again, the decision had already been made, and there was nothing he could do about it.

"Now then, without wasting any more time, let's balance out your Karma points. So tell me, what do you wish for yourself in your next life? I can't tell you the exact amount of points you have but what I can tell you is the percent of it left after you have used them."

Accepting his fate of going to Pokemon world, Alan thought deeply about using his Karma points to make the best use of them for his unknown next life.

"For starters, I would like to make sure that no one could look into my memories."

"Change your wish, I would suggest. Only you are the one who will ever know or see the memories of your previous life; no one else will be able to unless they are the very god of that world, but they too won't interfere as this is all in a pact made by the gods; that's the rule set by the almighty one."

"Thank you, then please change it to not being able to look into my memories of the next life, as well as not being able to listen in to my thoughts," with a grateful look, Alan asked the man to change his first wish.

"Ok, done. Well, you don't have many Karma Points left; your life was short, and you did not do much as well, and I don't think you can get many things with the amount left to you," said the man as he glanced over the remaining Karma Points left.

Alan was not surprised; Karma points depicted the good and bad deeds one had done; he who had never gone out of his way to do anything would indeed not have much of these points.

"Is there anything you would suggest?" he asked the man himself.

The man may be a jerk, but Alan had a good impression of him.

"I would suggest having some increase in talent with Aura; with your points, it might not be much, but it would still be significant if you end up with a low in-born aura talent at birth. I will also recommend 'special sight' for understanding pokemon potential, of course it would be very limited but would grow if 'you' got stronger. "

"With that, almost all your points would be spent; I would throw in the remaining points for good looks and also the same name as your last life," suggested the man and waited for Alan's response to it.

Nodding his head, Alan agreed to the suggestion.

Having a talent in Aura would be really beneficial since he could train himself along with his pokemon, it might not be much but it could always save his life at some point. As for the 'special sight,' Alan did not know what it would be like but it would at least be better than nothing.

"Alright then, it's time for you to go," he said before waving his hand and a small portal opened up right next to him, "enter this portal and you will be sent to your next life, just a heads up, the 'special sight' would unlock when you try to choose your starter or get your first pokemon. Now go, I need to guide the next soul."

Alan looked at the portal with amazement as he stood up and walked towards it. But he paused right before he was about to enter. He turned towards the man and gave him a small bow.

"Thank you for helping me out."

With that said he jumped into the portal.

"What a dumbass, you asked for your memories to be kept hidden but never to keep your previous life's memories."

"Huh?"

This was the last thing Alan heard before everything became dark
