LOG 25: Their Return

At the deck of the ship, our eyes set forth towards the city of Schubert. Valery described the place as though being in a cruise heading towards Castelia City. I've never seen Castelia City from a ship, and hearing how magnificent it is, I'm willing to try one myself.

"You have to ride a sea taxi?"

"Yes! They've got loads of those at Virbank City."

"But haven't they closed already? I'm sure they have a bridge that connects eastern to the middle Unova and western."

She leaned on the railings. "Oh, they closed? How... How brutal is that?"

"Brutal?"

"A bridge? In replace of a boat that gives you access to good sceneries? Now you get to only see cables and lights! Right?"

"Well, I haven't been on the bridge before as haven't I visited the other towns and cities of Unova. Unlike the other regions I've visited, Unova's quite vast compared to them."

<Ches!> A large Pokemon barreled towards us.

Our hearts raced faster as we turned to the side, dodging the Pokemon that rolled as if it was a boulder. It bashed into the railings and uncurled itself.

There is fluffy white fur on its belly and fringing its face like a beard. It has a small, pink nose with a three-pointed patch of brown fur extending up its short snout, and four pointed teeth. On top of its head is a plate of beige armor, similar to a helmet. It possesses a prominent domed, armor-like shell similar to that of a chestnut. The armor is beige with four large spines jutting out of the back. The armor is trimmed with red and green bands; the green is on the outermost edge.

There is an additional spine protruding from the armor over each of its shoulders, which are connected by a green breastplate. Its body is colored similarly to the shell, and its long limbs and tail are banded with plates of armor. The top surfaces of the tail and arms are protected by green armor, and each arm has two small spines. It has three brown, clawed digits on its hands and feet.

"Surrender to us those shards! They're rightfully ours," demanded the old man. His secretary Claudia came and blockaded the access to the deck so no one else could jump into the conflict.

"What? They're not yet dead?" Valery said in shock.

"Assuming the light house was built towards the sea and them collapsing towards the sea, I guess, it's dumb luck." I clenched Mismagius' Pokeball. "We'd never surrender it!"

"You're all members of Team Rocket! I should've known. We will take back what's rightfully ours. Chesnaught, Pin Missile!"

"Mismagius, dodge!"

Claudia joined in. "Bellossom out and use Stun Spore!"

Stun Spore landed on Mismagius, paralyzing her.

"Not today!" I said, putting out a paralyze heal and applying it on Mismagius. "Maybe now is the good time to show me your mega evolved Aerodactyl?"

"Hmm... No, I won't!"

"Wait what, you're not going to fight with me?"

"I will, but no mega evolving. I'm not wasting precious energy and kill ourselves by being sank to the bottom of the sea with a haywire Aerodactyl!"

Nevertheless, she sent out Aerodactyl but didn't push through with mega evolution.

"Bellossom! Venoshock on Aerodactyl!"

"Mismagius, Mystical Fire towards Chesnaught!"

"Chesnaught, Dodge it!"

"Aerodactyl soar to the skies!"

Aerodactyl dodged the Venoshock as Valery followed it with a Brutal Swing, lifting Bellossom to the air and using the foe as a bat to swoop Chesnaught, cancelling out its chance to dodge as mystical fire hits them both.

It was Aerodactyl's turn. Valery commanded it to use Giga Impact on both of them which struggled to stand. Having to recharge, I took over with Mismagius dealing damage with Charge Beam.

"Leave now. We don't want to do more harm," Valery gave a warning, however, they didn't listen and persisted on claiming the shards.

Security guards started bashing through Claudia's blockades.

"You'll be arrested when these men come in. Give it to us and we will let you free," challenged Arthur.

"We're not the only ones going to be arrested," Valery said confidently.

"I'm afraid, in terms of superiority, we have the upper hand. Sir Arthur and I are diplomats. We can't be arrested or forced to be testified in front of a court. Need less to say, we are merely people helping police work by stopping criminals like you."

Valery devised a plan. As we were near the city anyway, we decided to abandon them by escaping with her Aerodactyl. At that exact moment, the guards were able to enter, staring to the skies and only being able to see the fragment of our diminishing shadows.

"Those two don't have any idea who I am right?" Valery asked me. She drove Aerodactyl to shore.

"Probably, but they know I'm Luna. Now if they testify, they would also be looking for a woman with a bun hair!"

"Then we have to change your name."

"No, no! I'm not going that far in my career!"

"These officers--"

"I've dealt with them before, I'll deal with them again. The faster we arrive to Schubert, the faster we can finish the mission and return to headquarters."

"Alright, but this is the bureau we're talking about."

"Trust me! We've passed through dozens of their checkpoints and still nothing."
