Silver Conference

Early morning Vidal decided to return to the sanctuary. There were few days left until the start of the silver conference. A check on the sanctuary's status was a smart idea.

Landing in the canyon, loud roars welcomed Vidal and Dragonite. Dragonite growled to keep the hostile Pokemons at bay. There were lots of brand-new Pokemon in the sanctuary.

Legendary and mythical Pokemons as well as other Pokemons arrived at the scene to control the hostile Pokemons.

It turns out these Pokemons around the canyon followed Celebi to the canyon. They were basically the new addition to the sanctuary. Vidal didn't have any issue with that.

"It is good that new Pokemons are joining. But you should be more careful while roaming far from the canyon. Don't get spotted by trainers if possible." Vidal said. He let his other Pokemons out to join the training as well.

Vidal scouted the area around the canyon with Celebi on the tow. There were many wild Pokemons, but he didn't come across any humans.

On the Sanctuary, many Pokemon from his two batches have started to evolve and get stronger. Vidal also made a new rule. "Celebi, you should make sure that those Pokemon entering the canyon are compulsory to take part in the training regimen."

With Celebi abilities, it wasn't too difficult to create a few entries and exit for Pokemons. The Pokemon can enter the canyon more easily, and leave when wanted.

Vidal stayed till dusk, and found that not a single Pokemon was leaving the canyon. They were sleeping wherever they found a place.

"Well, this works as well. Having more Pokemon around the island is a good thing. For now, the canyon will be able to accommodate them. But if I wanted to add more from outside, I needed to create holes in those hills." Vidal had to open quite a substantial part of the hills around the canyon to open it to the outer region of the island.

Vidal returned to his home for the night. Ash was planning to leave for the silver conference next morning. Vidal could just directly fly there. So he rejected the offer to go with them.

Next morning Ash left for the silver conference. Vidal returned to the canyon with large bags carried by Dragonite and Alakazam.

Zapdos and Starmie were followed by Flaffy and Pupitar, respectively. Flaffy and Pupitar were both going to start using Vidal's main regime.

In the morning, Vidal used to run, so he didn't take a break. As he was now in a canyon, he started hill climbing with his bare hands. Well Celebi was there for safety purposes.

For three days, Vidal spent most of his time on sanctuary. He had even decided which two hills were going to be removed from the canyon. The job of removing the hill fell on the shoulders of newly evolved Tyranitar.

His Starmie used to be the most abnormal Pokemon in the party. Flaffy snatched that status from Starmie.

The way Flaffy evolved was the first abnormal thing. Zapdos supercharged Flaffy to the point where it started evolving. However, evolution stopped in the middle.

Flaffy's condition was carefully examined by Vidal. He took him to the Pokemon center and even to Professor Oak's lab, fortunately there were no issues.

And the next day, when Flaffy was using his basic moves, it evolved. It was a normal evolution. But the Ampharos was abnormal. No, it should be called a miracle.

The evolved Ampharos still retained the mane of wool in its head and there was new wool in its tail too. Vidal tested the power of his Ampharos, it was phenomenal.

Zapdos and Ampharos compared the power output, and the gap doesn't seem to be that big. "Well, Zapdos you need to train diligently from now on. Otherwise, you might have to learn from your own students." Vidal chuckled.

By the end of the day, Tyranitar created a whole big enough to connect the canyon with the outside as one. Celebi did the decorating part and the Pokemon got a large area to play around.

It surprised Vidal on how fast he was expanding around the island. With Celebi and Ho-oh, the island was green. With the current expansion speed, people will eventually take notice of the island.

Vidal needed to add some security measures around the island. Maybe I should ask for help from someone else.

Vidal left the sanctuary at dusk. It was time for him to leave for the silver conference as well.

Silver Conference

Vidal signed up for a screening match, while Tyranitar was going to debut with a trainer.

"Vidal, this way," Brock called after noticing Vidal.

"So, how is it working out Ash? When is your screening match?" Vidal asked.

"I have already won my screening match just now. What about you?" Ash said with enthusiasm.

"I am waiting for my turn." Amidst the talk, an announcement called for a Vidal match.

Vidal entered the area for his match. Through the computerized system, Vidal got selected to choose his first Pokemon. He was already prepared to use Tyranitar.

The opponent used Croconaw for the type advantage. And the match started.

The opponent started with a water gun. Tyranitar just stood there. Tyranitar used a leer to intimidate Croconaw while holding the water gun in his face.

After that a hydro pump blasted Tyranitar on the face. Vidal still didn't give any instruction and just watched.

The trio and his opponent were baffled to see a rock type Pokemon taking water type moves without any reaction. But it did some damage to Tyranitar, it was inevitable due to type advantage. But the level of power wasn't enough to worry Vidal.

"Tyranitar, use sandstorm," Tyranitar raised his hands to summon a sandstorm covering the entire battle ground.

"Finish with focus punch." Inside the sandstorm, Croconaw didn't get a chance to prepare for the punch and took it to the face.

"Croconaw is unable to battle. The winner is Vidal from Pallet town." The match ended.

"Vidal, you Pokemon give me strange vibes during battle. How do you train them?" Brock asked. His intuition towards Pokemon was really high.

"Strange… I don't know what is strange about them." Vidal didn't want to talk about this matter anymore and got out of the battle area.

They waited for the tournament list to appear. And Ash's opponent was Macy and Vidal was Harrison. It turned out Harrison and Ash were acquaintances.

At this point in time, Vidal had the same question in his mind, which he asked himself before the Kanto tournament.

'Should I win or lose?'

Since Ash's battle was going to be before his own. Vidal waited to see the performance of Ash in the matches and make a final decision.
