S4E6: Island Challenge Part One
So with a plan figured out and with his pokemon and a new companion at his side Foxx got ready to take the first step in his journey to completing the Orange Island Challenge. First up was Mikan Island where they would be going up against Cissy. Now Foxx wasn't completely sure exactly how different the challenges on the islands were really going to be.
Thus with a sigh Foxx selected a pokeball from his bag that he'd hopped was the Gyarados he'd won in battle. He then tossed it into the air releasing him into the coastline to which it let out a huge aggressive roar. Foxx then slowly approached him holding out a hand only to stop just as the water covered his ankles letting Gyarados come the rest of the way.
He slowly leaned down and allowed Foxx to rest his head against his before moving to allow for Foxx and Silvia to climb aboard to carry them safely to their goal. As they traveled Foxx mostly comforted Gyarados in hopes of building a trusting bound with him like he has with Joy and Eevee. Thus Foxx didn't one bit rush their trip to the first island.
Upon reaching the shores of Mikan Island Foxx thanked Gyarados for a smooth ride before recalling him back into his pokeball of which he then returned to his bag. Foxx and Silvia made their way inland towards the gym to seek out Cissy for her gym challenge.
"So Foxx do you know which pokemon you're going to use for this gym challenge?" asked Silvia with a flirtatious smile and a slight flutter of her eyes.
"Not sure, I'd have to see what the challenge is first I guess." replied Foxx not really paying much attention to her flirting ways mostly because those things never really lured him in either that or it could be that Dawn never had to use them on him, either way it bug Silvia that her flirting was just ignored.
"Welcome to the Mikan Island Gym which of you two are here to challenge me or who wishes to go first?" asked Cissy from the door of the gym upon noticing them heading her way, and before Silvia could get off another flirty line.
"We're both here to challenge you but I will go first." declared Foxx with a smile, "Would you please explain the challenge so we can get started."
"Simple, first you use one of your Pokémon to attempt to out shoot mine and if you win we'll let your little lady friend here get a shot." replied Cissy, "Any questions?"
"Any particular move required to be used to knock down the targets?" asked Foxx with one hand on Joy's pokeball.
"Water Gun only." replied Cissy with a smile to which Foxx shifted his hand from Joy's pokeball to Eevee's pokeball before removing it and tossing it into play.
"An Eevee? Interesting choice." replied Cissy as she released her Seaking right next to Foxx's Eevee. She then smiled and added, "Three, Two, One, Go!"
With that Foxx just nodded to Eevee who curled her head back before firing of a chai of consecutive water gun shots that took out ten out of ten targets which caught Cissy and her Seaking off guard causing it to miss one of it's target. This made Foxx smile to which Cissy gave a quick nod.
"Congrats you've passed round one now to see if we can pass round two, but first let give you friend a shot." called Cissy and with a flick of a switch she reset the targets.
As for Foxx he recalled Eevee just as Silvia bashfully tossed out a vaporeon who quickly fired at the target missing one of the ten unfortunately for her this time Cissy's Seaking didn't miss a single target this time. To which she recalled her Seaking before saying, "Fear not there is still round two."
With that the three of them went outside of the gym and down to the beach where a race course had been set up. Now for time and unlike normal challenger who usually only went one at a time Foxx had suggested they all race and see if they both are able to beat her. Cissy was up to the challenge. This time Foxx would use Gyarados while Cissy used Blastoise. As for Silvia she once more used Vaporeon or tried her best seeing as she was a little too big to surf on the back of her pokemon.
One of the gym aids signaled the start of the race at which Foxx and his Gyarados easily took the lead as it raced forward with Blastoise and Vaporeon not far behind with their trainers all trying to hold on as best possible. Foxx knew he'd have to time the turn just right in order not to fall behind because of Gyarados' size he'd have to make a wide turn. Thus Cissy was constantly sticking to the inside of the upcoming turn.
As for Silvia she was holding on tight as Vaporeon tried to keep up with the other two. Yet she sensed that their best chance was going to be at the corner for the to larger pokemon will have to make wider and slower turns where her Vaporeon wouldnt have to. Yet something about the grin Foxx had on his face told her he had a plan that wasn't going to end very well for Cissy.
Now when the corner came Foxx had Gyarados dive into the turn causing his body to roll through the turn thus causing a back wave which along with Gyarados' tail struck Blastoise in the head fliping him and sending Cissy into the air. As for Silvia she quickly took a breath and had Vaporeon swim under the crashing Blastoise and popping back up just before the turn which they were able to make with no problem. Thus a Cissy got back on her dazed Blastoise Foxx and Silvia raced for the finish line but the were not going to win so easily as she came up behind them trying to close the gap while Blastoise fired off his hydro cannons.
Yet in the end Foxx was victorious with Silvia in second only barely followed by Cissy who was laughing and grinning as she walked towards them.
"Congratulations, Foxx you were victorious in both challenges while Silvia you found a way to achieve victory in the chaos of things while also not letting uncertainty to force you into giving up before the race had even began." complemented Cissy as with a smile as she handed both of them the Coral-Eye Badge before they had a party to celebrate their victory of which Foxx tried to spend talking with Joy in hope of getting her to no longer be made at him and to come out of her pokeball, but it was to no avail.
