Then he did the same as when he used Rock Throw, but this time the rocks were bigger and faster than before.

"Dodge it!" – I said.

But I underestimated the speed of the rocks and Bulbasaur couldn't dodge them in time causing both attacks to hit.

Nosepass was entangled with numerous vines while Bulbasaur was sent flying, taking a big damage from that attack.

"Are you okay, Bulbasaur?" – I asked.

"Saur!" - Bulbasaur nodded.

"And you, Nosepass?" - asked Roxanne.

"Pass!" - Nosepass nodded.

But suddenly, the vines glowed and drained life from Nosepass, then a ray of green light hit Bulbasaur recovering her wounds a bit.

"This is bad..." – Roxanne said.

Now that he was covered in vines, if Ash's Bulbasaur resisted long enough, her victory was assured.

"We won't give up, Nosepass, use Rock Tomb again!" – Roxanne exclaimed.

Again, huge boulders headed at a great speed towards Bulbasaur.

"Now, Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip against the ground!" – I said.

The only way to make up for our lack of speed was this, was to devise a way so that Nosepass couldn't launch his attack, and what is his weak point? That's right, Nosepass can move his face sideways, but I've noticed that he can't look up, so that's the way to hit an attack on him.

Bulbasaur nodded and threw a powerful Energy Ball toward Nosepass.

I underestimated the strength of Nosepass's legs, because in the blink of an eye, he was already at a considerable height and hit the Energy Ball head-on, causing a strong explosion that sent both Pokémon flying.

Due to Nosepass's proximity to Bulbasaur, the blast wave also reached her and so she was sent flying.

"Bulbasaur! Are you okay?" – I asked.

"Saur!" Bulbasaur nodded.

But she was struggling to get to her feet, as apparently the shock wave and the impact on the ground had damaged her quite a bit.

"Nosepass! How are you?" – I asked.

"Pass..." – said Nosepass.

Nosepass could barely get up, but the next moment, the vines drained what little strength Nosepass had, causing him to fall to the ground fainted and, at the same time, the vines disappeared without a trace.

"Nosepass fainted, Bulbasaur wins, and therefore the winner is Ash from Pallet Town!" – exclaimed the receptionist.

For a moment my mind went blank, have I won? Did I won my first gym battle? Have I taken my first step as a Pokémon trainer? My mind couldn't process it for a few seconds, but in the end I realized the truth, I had won and it wasn't a dream!

"We won, guys!" – I said while hugging my Pokémon.

"Congratulations, Ash!" – Celeste said.

Due to the joy of the moment, I let myself go and gave Celeste a big hug that lasted several seconds.

When she was suddenly hugged, Celeste was surprised, but she didn't try to get away, in fact, in Ash's arms she felt safe, as if nothing could hurt her, it was such a pleasant feeling that she didn't want it to end...

"Ehem, I'm sorry to interrupt your flirting session, but let me congratulate you for your victory" – Roxanne said.
