Honorary guild members

Sheyken and Falgur took their time getting to the guild as they saw the streets start being nosier and the market full of exotic fruits and jewelry so beautiful Sheyken wished to never go there with a girl for he knew he would lose all his life's fortune if he did. The amazing part was that ordinary people were selling them but with no security around whatsoever. It was a contrast to what they had just been through.

They reached a familiar street and saw the guild which was also now just like the day before, full of adventurers coming in and out with some already drinking. They went inside and passed a hooded figure who Sheyken could swear was a girl. She had that vibe about her, the vibe of being the scum he and Falgur hated. He looked at her as she vanished out the exit but quickly forgot about her as everyone in the guild had quieted down and was looking at him.

He looked at the counter and to his surprise a beautiful girl was there this time around. She was tall, well-toned, and had a friendly, welcoming face. She had brown hair and was wearing a one-piece that was green which reminded them of Sali and Sazi but this one did nothing to hide her sex appeal. She looked to be about to reach her twenties and that gave Sheyken a rush of his inner manliness to come out. All this made him fail to recognize the eyes that were on Shadow and with them, some gulped in astonishment.

"So, you are the two boys making waves already on your first day here."

A friendly voice called to them before they reached the counter which came from the lady. Falgur saw Sheyken acting unusual for the first time.

"You boys a quite something. I am Alati. Nice to meet you."

She said as she went around the counter and squatted down in front of the two boys. Her one piece was short, ending just above her knees and when she squatted down it revealed more done it should have. Sheyken's nose went red and Falgur did not miss it. It was his turn to hit him at the back of his head and he hit him harder than he should have in revenge for the kick he got. Alati thought Falgur was bullying him and felt sorry for the little boy in front of her.

She took both of his small hands.

"So, you must be Sheyken, and that little bully must be your brother Falgur."

Sheyken nodded and he went to heaven for a split second as he got a kiss on the forehead.

"Well, only good children get a kissy, kissy."

She said as she looked at Falgur and let out her tough at him. Falgur let out his back at her. Sheyken was gutted. Being treated like a kid by a hot babe was not good for his libido even as it was still growing.

"The guild's daughter is waiting for you, so you can go up."

She said as it was still quiet in the hall while some beer bottles were being crashed in the hands of the man who looked at the kid who was getting a kiss when they would fight to the death just to get one. They looked in awe as Shadow was also still glittering in their eyes.

They went up to the second floor with Alati leading the way. The man who was mending the counter the day before was nowhere to be found.

"Awe, I see even our lovely Alati has taken a liking to you boys."

Seduralto said as she saw them come in. Alati stood next to them like she was waiting for something. Seduralto laughed.

"She had her day off yesterday and as soon as she heard there were two Finis around, she wanted to meet you two. Alati, do not worry, I will ask them so you must go back to your post or they might start getting rowdy."

Alati looked rejected but slightly bowed and left. Sheyken and Falgur went to sit. Sadoralto was holding a wooden card in her hand.

"I see you have been enjoying yourselves."

She said as she put down the card in front of them.

"That's a bill from the Mystic. Do you want to tell me how two little boys and an old man who is only good at fainting can amass 3 gold coins worth of a bill in one night?"

Sheyken was shocked. They have eaten the most expensive dishes they had but, in his calculations, it should have been less than a gold coin.

He played the child card and looked down while holding his hands and rubbing him together like he did nothing wrong and was afraid to be scolded. Falgur saw the move and stole it for himself. It looked like the move was just too powerful for her as she quickly folded. She sat back and sighed.

"I just cannot deal with kids. If you were 9 years already, I would have slapped those buttocks of yours until they were nice and tender and you knew the value of money."

Falgur could not help but picture it and was now sweating.

"Sheyken."

She looked at him with a stern face.

"That is a 4th tier if not 5th tier armor. Just looking at you makes me feel envious for such a top-tier armor to be worn by a kid. One would think you are of noble blood by just looking at you now. Do you mind telling me where you got it?"

Sheyken was pleasantly shocked. He did not know the value of Shadow yet but had known he was special.

"I got it from my master."

'So, there was someone that powerful in the village. Might be why no one came from there for the past years and why they could kill so many Initiates.'

Seduralto thought.

"Do you mind telling me its qualities?"

Falgur looked at him like it was a bad idea.

"It can stack up 1 ability and has 50 percent of its wearers strength. It can also self-repair and has a controlled temperature."

Seduralto jumped up in shock.

"If that is true, that means it is not just a special grade armor but a legendary one. Who could give a child such a top-tier item?"

Sheyken Just looked at her slightly panicked face and said nothing. Falgur was still amazed he told her.

"Sorry. What you saying is just...."

She sent back down embarrassed to have acted that way in front of kids.

'That armor has the potential to make anyone a top-tier fighter. He will have the upper hand in any battle he is in if they are of equal strength. Not to mention he also has a Camorphiare and a unique Blessing with the fact that he has no issues with killing. This might be the most dangerous kid I have ever met.'

Seduralto thought.

"Mind telling me about your Camorphiare?"

Sheyken took it out and just like everyone else, since she had not seen him taking him out of Ruby when she was testing them, the magic show Sheyken presented her with also shocked her.

"It had three forms."

Seduralto was getting her mind blown by each word and action that came out of Sheyken. He turned him to a short sword and then a long sword which was not that impressive to her even though it was rare for a Camorphiare to have other forms.

"In each form, I can imbibe one ability."

Seduralto was now sweating.

"Kid, are you a prince or what?"

Sheyken put Plot Armor back and just looked at her. Those words reminded him of Ningal.

"I do not think you should be showing off those two items in public or you are sure to have someone try and take them from you. Even your Camorphiare can be considered a rare weapon the way it is right now."

"Thank you for the concern, but do you remember the words I said to you when you were pointing a sword to my brother's throat?"

Seduralto did not know where he was going with this but she nodded.

"They were for everyone who plans to go against me unprovoked."

As he said those words, Seduralto could feel that he meant it.

'Yep, I was worried about the wrong people.'

She thought as she looked at him.

'He must have a 5th tier master if not more powerful. If that is the case, having him here is a danger to the whole town. If someone is stupid enough to go after him and something happens to him....'

"Why did you not help the women that were being killed by the old fossil?"

Falgur cut in trying to stop Sheyken from revealing his cards but also managed to cut off her thoughts. She looked at him and at that point, she had forgotten she was talking to kids. She calmed down and smiled.

"First, on behalf of the town, I would like to thank you for taking care of such Initiates who have no naming sense."

Sheyken almost laughed.

"I am sure you think badly about us, but we could not butt in unless a request had been handed over to the guild."

Falgur did not understand but Sheyken was beginning to.

"Since you are now involved in this, I shall tell you. You see, someone has been turning the criminals in this town into Initiates and letting them fend for themselves."

Falgur and Sheyken picked their ears up.

"Lastria had found a ritual that would help her reach the next step and since we think this had to be a cult who is doing this, we were monitoring her so to see who would meet her so to capture that person as the next step would have needed them to resurface."

"Why are you not telling us everything. What is the next step?"

Sheyken asked.

"You see kids. In this world, information I everything. So, if you want information, you will have to pay."

She said as she let out her hand asking for them to pay up if they wanted to know. The two just sat back and did not move. Seduralto smiled.

"That is how this world you have stepped in works. So do not feel bad about it. Better I teach you this lesson now than later."

'So, the Luminexis must be here too.'

Sheyken thought as he knew the next step but wanted to confirm what Lastria had told them.

"Well, enough about that. You did the people a good service. We were getting tired of waiting anyways and her ritual kept on demanding more of her. Now, about you two."

She said as she stood up.

"You have to get everything you need from here before we leave in a months' time. My father will tell you about the details when he arrives."

She said as she took two cards from the desk that was on her far left.

"The kids who live here are no Finis and would die by just looking at an alive beast."

The two looked at each other.

"The year is about to come to an end and we have a big celebration on the last day of the year. Since you know now that even a little information is worth money, I am sure you would like to make some."

Sheyken now knew why she smiled when he asked her that question.

"What do you think about becoming honorary guild members and hunting some beast in preparation for the celebration?"

Sheyken and Falgur had no problems with it. They where already planning on seeing what beast where around that part of the Trial Forest. They nodded their heads in acceptance. She gave them two cards that looked to have been made out of some kind of brownish crystal. It had their names already written on them with the words 'Honorary guild members' under them.

"Alati had made them as soon as she came in. I think she was not going to take no for an answer."

The boys smiled and put the cards in their pockets.

"That means you are not subjected to the rules of this guild but you are considered one of us. That does not mean you can abuse the cards or use the name of the guild in a bad manner. You can still join any guild you want since you will not be registered. So, keep the cards safe as you might need it in the desert."

She said as she set down. She then looked at Falgur who was wearing ordinary clothes and looked at Sheyken who now looked like an imported kid. She would not let them go just yet for she still had many questions she wanted to ask.
