Flosbris. Part 3

Knock, knock.

Ningal rushed to open the door already having a mouthful of words she wanted to shout out as soon as she saw Sheyken, but when she opened the door she was met with a very tired-looking kid with a bright smile.

'Aahhh she looks better and better every time I see her.'

Sheyken thought. Ningal swallowed her words and this time calmly let Sheyken in and set next to him when they reached the table.

"Are you ok? you look tired. What happened? Why do you seem like you detached? Are you hungry? Did your hunt go well?..."

She went into her panic mode as soon as she set down next to him.

"Haha."

She toped when Sheyken let out a little chuckle. She pouted and folded her arms.

"Well excuse me for being so concerned about my little assassin."

She had started to call him that ever since he brought back the Vatagreos.

"I'm fine. Just that so many things happened today. I just have a lot to think about and a lot of questions I have to ask you. It is late so I came to check up on you and to let you know I was ok."

Ningal ruffled his hair.

"Look at you, checking up on me. Who's the grown-up here?"

Sheyken smiled and thought of the event that occurred that day.

"Ningal, what is an Sicapugi?"

Ningal did not expect that question from him, especially since it was something used by Witches.

"Why do you ask?.... Mmmmm... anyway kids are forever curious. I am sure you heard that word from somewhere. It is a Witches weapon. It is mainly used for sacrificial purposes but it is also the main weapon a Witch uses to fight. They come in many different forms, a broom, a dagger, a hairpin, boots, or even an animal you want bound to you when you are first Initiated. It is almost like a Camorphiare but very different. You know what a Camorphiare is right?"

"Yes, I know what it is. Infect I have one."

Ningal was visibly shocked about what he said. Sheyken had figured that he could trust Ningal and he thought letting her know about what he has in his arsenal would be better than hiding it from her. She always did give him good advice.

"Can I see it?"

Sheyken took Ruby out on his palm and made Plot Armor come out. As soon as Ningal saw him she looked like a female looking at an 8-carat diamond ring. Sheyken turned him to a short sword and then a long sword, showing him off.

"I can change him like this but it will take an hour for him to revert back to a short sword again if I want or the dagger for now.

Ningal moved from her chair and went down on her knees and with both of her hands holding Sheyken's face, she kissed his forehead.

"Who are you really?"

She asked with a tear falling down her eye. Sheyken feeling the kiss of an angel was now on cloud nine. Gone was the fatigue of the day and it was replaced with a feeling of lightness, him floating above the clouds. He came back to reality when he saw Ningal's tear.

"I'm... I'm nobody. My master gave me this."

He said looking at Plot Armor. Ningal stood up and was in deep thought. Sheyken sensing that this was going to be a long conversation pulled out the black snake that he killed two years ago. Ningal just looked at the snake and set down again.

"At this point even if you said you are a god, I would believe you. She said with a sigh. I'm sure you will ask me what it is."

Sheyken looked down, embarrassed.

"It is a Greosen."

"Greosen?"

Sheyken asked, hoping to get more information. Ningal knew he wanted her to continue but was still shook after seeing his Camorphiare. She still did not know what to make of the child in front of her.

"Yes, a Greosen. I'm sure you killed it in the Benevolent woods also since it is rare. You can only find it there. There are many types of it. When it evolves, depending on what it eats and the environment it is in, it will evolve to any snake species it chooses, but that is a rare one. It has no poison glands which means it had chosen its evolutional tree from birth. It will evolve into a Noxeosen, a snake that is resistant to most venom and poisons, and its main diet being poisonous beasts, snakes being its food of choice. It is also used in some potions to deal with curses."

'This day started in a crazy way but it is getting better and better now that I am with Ningal. A Noxeosen, something I will have to hunt one day no matter what.'

Sheyken thought.

"Thank you for the explanation. I have many questions I need to ask you and tell you about what happened today. I was going to take it out for when it was a course for celebrating but I think we will need something special for our conversation. Please prepare it and we can continue our conversation tomorrow. Too many things happened today and I need to clear my head."

'I couldn't agree more. Look at this little assassin trying to talk like a man.'

Ningal thought as she took the Greosen from Sheyken.

"You should come back by midday. I have some things to do in the house and it will be done by then."

She said walking him to the door. As Sheyken was asking himself what she would want to do that will take time in a house that was clean as it was he put it at the back of his mind and secretly wished to get another kiss, possible on his chick this time around. He quickly left the village and set up his tent and went inside.

When Sheyken had given Flosbris the Araneu, she was surprised he had hunted it that day.

'If I waited a little longer I would have gotten it for chap-change, bit they would have cut it up buy then. Anyway, I will get it back when they have no use for him anymore.'

"Do you have any of its web?"

She asked Sheyken. He pretended to put his hand in the hunting bag while letting half of the webbing out of Ruby into it. He then held the bag upside down and the web fell down.

"Awe, I see Ningal is teaching you well..... no, she would never be this good of a teacher, you must be naturally good."

She was slowly creeping into becoming his mortal enemy in his eyes.

'Say one more thing about her, I dare you'

If Sheyken was a beast he would be growling at her by now.

"A deal is a deal."

She said taking a mana crystal from her storage ring. Sheyken took it and turned his back on her, leaving as fast as he could. He put it into Ruby when he was far away from her. She went into the house and as soon as she closed the door, the runes on the floor lit up. Placing the Araneu in the middle of the floor she took out the Sicapugi from the box and started cutting the Araneu chest open. She took out its heart and started eating eat. Thereafter she stood up and started dancing like a ballerina again while chanting a spell. When she finished, the Araneu had stood up looking like an undead creature.

"Ningal, whatever you are hiding in that house, it is time we found out."

She said with an evil smile, showing her still bloody teeth and lips from the Araneu's heart.

Sheyken had gone to sleep as soon as he went into the tent. He was mentally drained. When he woke up the sun had already risen.

"Mmmmm first time waking up after the sun has risen. Guess I was that tired."

He freshened up and thought about yesterday, also thinking about what he should tell Ningal or leave out. After some light training, he went to Ningal's place, not daring to look at the south side of the village where Flosbris's place was. When he arrived at Ningal's place she had already finished preparing the Greosen. When he set down on the tables he was met with a Greosen soup style dish that made his mouth watery. Ningal did not have a plate for herself which Sheyken did not fail to notice again. Just like the Umrulpes, the Greosen tested like heaven, the umami making his test buds go crazy, but he also felt goosebumps running all over his body like it was reacting to something. The beasts from the Benevolent woods seemed to have their own distinct test. He finish his meal and looked at Ningal with intent.

"Who is Flosbris?"

He asked with a full stomach. Ningal was not prepared to hear that name from him. She had stayed all night thinking about him and who he might be. The Camorphiare he showed her was no ordinary one and thinking about it made her lose sleep.

"How do you know that name?"

She asked trying to not show her anger like the many times she would when she heard that name.

"She approached me last night. I had a Sicapugi that I found in the Benevolent woods when I was hunting there. I had come in the village holding it and Flosbris said it belonged to her family."

Ningal was getting visibly upset.

"We went to her house and she showed me the box they use to house it and it had the same rune as the Sicapugi, so I gave it to her. She also wanted me to hunt an Araneu for her but I had already hunted it that day. I sold it to her since she offered me a mana crystal for it.

Sheyken took the mana crystal out from Ruby in front of her and put it on the table.

Ningal did not have time to get angry about what Sheyken had told her. Her mouth was wide open still looking at Sheyken's hand. She did not see it properly the night before when he took out Plot Armor but she was now sure.

'Did he just pull out a mana crystal out from nowhere? Who is this kid?'

She thought, still in awe. Since Sheyken was on a roll reviling most of his secrets to her, he stood up and took his shirt off.

'I need to get all the help I can get about what is on my back. Even though she might not know anything about it, she might point me in the right direction to start looking for answers.'

Sheyken thought while taking off his shirt. Ningal was surprised at all of this.

'Haha, how cute, he wants to show me his four pack.'

She thought as she also stood up.

"There is something on my back I would like to....."

He could not finish the sentence. He had fainted, falling headfirst onto the floor. Ningal had reacted late and could not catch his fall. Not knowing what was going on, she went closer to him to see if he was ok. As she got close, she noticed something on his back but could not make sense of what it was. She took a better position to look at it and what she saw made her heart skip a beat. She fainted right next to Sheyken.
