chapter 4 How did you know

Kelvin was sitting on his chair at his office but his thoughts were at home.

He can still remember how Marco and Mia were glaring at each other as if they can tear each other a part.

"Mia that's enough l don't know if I can finish all this food"

Mia looked him,

"but you have to eat more so that you can be strong"

and there, they lock there eyes as Kelvin could feel the caring and warmth from her.

looking at the two who were still looking at each other, Marco cleared his throat

"daddy it's true you have to eat some more"

and he added some meat's on his plate.

Kelvin looked at his plate which was now a mountain of food and didn't know if he should cry or laugh.

After the breakfast, Kelvin went to his room to get ready for work when Mia entered

"do you need some help"she asked.

Kelvin who was already done came closer to her and replied

"no l am done all ready but l want to talk to you"

Mia asked as she tries to avoid looking into his eyes.

"about Marco, you don't have to play that silly game with him,he is still a child after some time he will be okay with you"

Mia averted her eyes from the sling and looked at Kelvin

"you don't understand, that game that you are calling silly is the one that can bring me closer to him and

show him that I am not as bad as he thinks,l know he might have a reason but at least I can try."

a smile appeared on Kelvin's lips and he was going to tease her but his nagging son shouted

"daddy l will be late for school

and that's how they parted .

back to the present

Kelvin didn't know if he did the right thing to marry Mia but since she is his wife already he just hope he won't regret it.

just then there was a nock on his door,

"came in"

he said as he adjust his tie.

assistant Philip came inside and submitted the papers he had asked for

"sir this is all the information about the new project that you want to start"

"does all the department has this copy?"

Kelvin asked as he looks at them.

''yes sir they do and also l have told them to start to prepare there presentation "

"okay good work you may leave "

assistant Philip bow down as a form of respect for his boss and he was about to leave when he remembered something.

Turning around he simply said it

"aah boss ,today I got an information that your family are going to your house, actually they have just left the mansion."

hearing assistant Philip's ward's , Kelvin stood up ,"why didn't you tell me earlier"

He shouted as he ran out he can't let his family see Mia

Not yet,

and he tooked his suit before raning out side.

since he was in a hurry, he didn't call any driver, he just used his private elevator which led straight to the parking lot.

Entering his car,he started it and join the road, which he drove like a mad man because if his parents, not even his parents his grandmother finds Mia at home they will be in a big problem.

Back at home

Mia was resting at the coach since she had finished the house chores and now she was watching a movie, until the door bell rang.

Mia looked at the door and wonder who could that be since Kelvin was at work and Marco was still at School.But the person in the door was annoying as he kept on ringing the bell.

putting the remote a side she stood up and went to open the door.

And by the time she did, the person didn't let her open the door wide he entered pushing her a little.

looking at Kelvin who seems like paint she asked worried

"what happened, you look like you have ran ten kilometers.

taking some deep breath to calm his raising heart Kelvin replied

"l am okay but not for long "

"what do you mean"but before he could answer her, Mia asked again with panic

"Did you steal money from a gang and now they are coming to kill as?''

Kelvin looked at Mia and he did know If he

should laugh because of her stupid thought or cry because she was calling him thief, and why would he steal when even if he stops warking his children children will steel have something to eat,at this time Kelvin had forgot that they had meet yesterday so she doesn't know the power he has in this city and from were she was staying, he don't think she knows him.

putting his hands on her shoulder, Kelvin made her to sit down so as he could explain to her

"so Mia my assistant toldme that My family are on there way here and if they find you here it will be a big problem as my family we are not totally human.....''

and before he could finish his explain anion the door was opened and there entered his family.Both Mia and Kelvin were shocked as they look at the people who was at the door that even they didn't move away from each other and they were still holding hands.

they looked like a cheating couples, Kelvin's Mom thought, but anyway a bright smile appeared on her lips as she can see that his son was dating

"Kelvin"he called out his name, removing him from his own thoughts.

standing up "mum dad l can explain"

but Lucy Kelvin's Mom complain

"l can't believe it, my own son has been dating behind my back and here l was searching you a wife"

"mum it's not like that,l was..."Kelvin was trying to explain but his mother cut him

"keep your expectations for your self,l just want to see My daughter in law."and she walked towards Mia's side.

Mia felt like her legs have been nailed on the floor,as she didn't even move an inch while Kelvin's Mom was stroking her cheeks while admiring her long hair

"oh son,l didn't know she was your type"Lucy was still admiring Mia's beauty as she spoke again but this time was towards her husband

"honey don't you think she is beautiful"

The man who was still standing at the door return to his mind as he replied to his wife"Yes honey she is "

He replied as he looked at his son who was sweating professionally.

Not like his wife he can tell that something was off between the two as he himself was shock by the news as when lucy came back home jumping that her son was married he didn't believe her until now

Signing kelvin asked "mum how did you know"

Stoping her acting she asked not answering his question

"Is my acting that bad"

Chuckle left his mouth as he answers

"It's was so lame"standing up she said while walking out "seems like l can't hide anything from you just like how you can't"

And she left with her husband as she knew what she wanted to talk with Mia she can't because of her son.

Taking a deep breath kelvin told Mia

"Don't be scared,mum is a nice person"

Nodding her head she replied"actually l wasn't,l was just a little surprised that's all"

Looking at her he thought that she was something else like she's too kind for these world.

After confirming that everything was good he left and went back to work
