If I could hit the system, I'd already beat him half to death.

 Kill him completely? No, Nova still needed his help, but teaching him a lesson was crucial.

 He didn't have a physical form of revenge, but he did have a psychological one, he hid his pure evil grin.

 He didn't want to horrify the beautiful lady on the other side of the empty seats, Ivelisse, so his face was always serene and calm, waiting for the other recruits.

 Nova had mentioned talking to the system before.

 He also realized something very important... 'The system wants me to kill humans...'

 How did he come to this conclusion? Nova didn't believe that this other condition for leveling up and killing humans, was just because, he must see a reason behind it, and there must also be a reason why the system wanted him to kill humans.

The last thing Nova currently wants is to be controlled, those systems that control their host with missions are the worst thing that would ask to happen to him, as he likes to have a free path to follow.

 After all, that's why he loved playing Legends Genesis. It was an open-world MMORPG that gave him the freedom to take whatever route they wanted, freedom at its finest.

 What Nova concluded is that in the worst-case scenario, the master and creator of the system is watching him and watching his every move, which although it annoyed him, wouldn't be as annoying as obeying the system's quests.

 Besides that, Nova also knew that he could no longer separate himself from the system, at least not currently, so he had to benefit from it.

And if he wanted to separate from it, that would slow his growth rate considerably.

 'Hey, system,' Nova voiced. 'You said at first that you're a death system... But from what you do and what I've heard, you're simply a player system.'

 At this statement from Nova, the system fell deathly silent, which even made the now serene Nova a little nervous.

 The silence lasted several seconds before his response.

 Nova just rolled his eyes. 'You killed and gained power? To be a death system, the logical thing to think is that I must kill anything to gain power, but I must meet specific requirements for that besides I didn't even gain power, but experience to level up and gain power.

 Nova couldn't stop finding fault with his logic, but the system remained silent, totally refusing to argue.

 Nova's expression soon broke into one of confusion and frustration.

 'Since when did this system of behaving like a two-year-old,' Nova thought feeling more ridiculous about the situation.

 He liked to make fun of the system because its behavior was childish, but this was too much for him.

 But suddenly, a metallic sound echoed in the room, causing him to instantly turn his vision towards the door where someone had entered.

 There, six figures came into view, a slightly chubby man, an average-looking woman, an attractive young man, an extremely tall man with tanned skin, and two masked men.
