"Father, do something about Zeke, please," a man who Evie guessed was Elijah said as he ran towards his father who was seated on the throne.
"What exactly do you want me to do, Elijah? Your brother is bearing the consequences of his actions," Alaska replied with a stoic face.
"But father, don't you think they are too harsh on him, my brother is young and stupid, he doesn't deserve any of this!" Elijah stated in anger.
"If only this stupid brother of yours listens to instructions then he would be passing through all this painful labor," Alaska spoke with a harsh voice.
"You speak as if Zeke is not your son," Elijah fired.
"You have to calm down Elijah, I cannot do anything, I do not even have power over the law that Ezekiel disobeyed, so let him carry his cross by himself," Alaska made known to Elijah.
Elijah stomped his feet on the floor and walked away from the throne room, he had thought that his father would be able to release Ezekiel but he should have known better.
For some unknown reason, Alaska dislikes Ezekiel and Elijah did not know why?
Was it because he is rebellious? Well not everyone can be as calm and as considerate as him.
He shoved his hand through his head as he walked along the large corridor of the palace only to bump into his mother; Alice.
Her eyes were red which was evidence of her crying for a long time. Well he couldn't blame her, his mother loved the both of them equally unlike his father.
"Father said he can't help," Elijah said, clenching and unclenching his fist.
"I know," Alice replied.
"What now? I know that Zeke is passing through pain right there and we cannot do anything," Elijah's voice cracked as he spoke.
"I can't lose Zeke, Elijah," Alice cried out.
"I will see what I can do," Elijah reassured his mother before walking away.
He went to the stable and took a horse for a ride.
It was quite a long ride before he arrived at the devil's center.
His heart broke when he saw his only siblings being flogged like an animal, his body was covered with blood as the demons kept on lashing out on him.
He was chained and had no chance for escape, his head was hung low and did not get to see the tear that fell from Elijah's eye but he quickly wiped it off.
"Greetings your majesty," they greeted simultaneously as they noticed his presence.
Ezekiel lifted his head up and Elijah's heart broke. His brother's face was filled with marks and his two eyes were swollen and black. Ezekiel smirked at him and Elijah wasn't surprised at all.
His brother was full of wonders.
Elijah moved closer to his brother but was about to touch him when one of those whipping Ezekiel stopped him.
"I am sorry your majesty but I can't let you near a criminal," he said.
"Criminal or not, he is still my blood brother," Elijah roared at him which made the man cower in fear.
Elijah took a good look at his brother and noticed something.
Flames of fire!
"Did you burn him?" Elijah turned around to see them.
"Instructions from the devil," they replied simultaneously and Elijah's blood boiled.
"Well, well, look who we have here, prince Elijah," the man made his appearance and Elijah fought the urge to beat the daylight out of him.
"I am sorry your majesty but you aren't meant to be here," the man said.
"And you seem to forget that I am Ezekiel's brother," Elijah said.
"There is no brotherhood here," Lucifer made known to Elijah.
"What do you want with my brother?" Elijah asked straightforwardly.
"I want to perish with him," Lucifer replied.
"What?! You want to perish with my brother for what reasons?" Elijah asked, trying to contain his anger.
"Reasons like the fact your father sold him to me and is legally the devil's son," Lucifer replied and Elijah saw red.
His father sold his brother! His father sold his f**king brother!!!
"Tonight, at the full moon, we would leave earth to perish in hell and there is no coming back," Lucifer said with a hilarious laughter.
Ezekiel wasn't surprised at all, he saw all of this coming but he did not know that it was this soon.
"Take me instead," Elijah offered.
"What?!" Both Ezekiel and Lucifer yelled simultaneously.
"Yes, you heard, I would go instead of my brother, please," Elijah pleaded desperately.
"No brother, you don't have to do this, I don't even have any goal in my life but you are the crown…"
"Shut up!!" Elijah yelled at Ezekiel.
"Take me, think of it as a better bargain. What can my brother give you except from trouble while I am actually worth it, I would give you anything you need, just name it," Elijah pleaded.
"Fine," Lucifer agreed immediately, he loved the offer.
"Brother you don't have to do this, please," Ezekiel pleaded, he didn't like this one bit.
"My decision is final, thank you Lucifer," Elijah appreciated and left before Ezekiel could say anything.
Once he got back to the palace, he told his mother that Ezekiel would be coming home tonight and of course she was overwhelmed by the news. Only if she knew who was at loss.
It was twelve am and Ezekiel had already been freed while some men had Elijah captive in case he tried anything funny.
"Elijah, please don't do this," Ezekiel had kept on pleading for Elijah to change his mind but he refused.
Just as the gates of hell were about to open, Alaska arrived with his men to stop Lucifer from taking Elijah.
"I sold Ezekiel and not Elijah!!" Alaska roared as he got off his horse and advanced towards Lucifer.
"I would replace Ezekiel," Elijah told him and Alaska froze on the spot.
"No, Elijah is my first son, take Ezekiel instead," Alaska commanded but Lucifer did not change his mind.
"I am sorry king Alaska but your son had a more tempting offer, so I go with Elijah," Lucifer said and dived into hell with all the demons as well as Elijah.
"No!!!!!!!!" Alaska roared, his gaze shifted to the still weak Ezekiel who had not yet comprehended what happened.
"Take him and lock him up, punish him," Alaska gave orders out of anger.
Evie's face were covered with tears as she watched Ezekiel get tortured by his own father even after Lucifer had tortured him.
Every time he yelled, Evie felt like a sword had sliced her heart into a million pieces.
No wonder he is so cold, anyone who passed through what he passed through would be as cold as him.
Alice was seen in the dungeon, taking care of Ezekiel's wounds and trying to make the atmosphere lively by cracking jokes but Ezekiel didn't even smile, his eyes looked empty, cold and so distant.
"I would see you later Zeke," Alice said as she got up and left the dungeon.
"Thank you very much mother," Ezekiel appreciated, which kind of stunned Alice because he had never done that since Alaska locked him up.
"I love you Ezekiel, you are my son and I would do anything for you," Alice promised and Ezekiel only nodded.
Alice left the dungeon to look for her husband only to bump into him and his girlfriend.
You heard her right, his girlfriend. Ever since Elijah left, Alaska turned his back on Alice and Ezekiel even to the point of removing Alice from her position as the queen and getting another woman pregnant because he did not want Ezekiel to be the crown prince.
Tears stung Alice's eyes but she wiped it off quickly, she had gotten used to it.
"Rachael, leave," Alice ordered with a dangerous tone and Rachael left with any question.
"What is it?" Alaska asked.
"You amaze me," Alice said.
"What do you want, Alice?" He asked.
"I want my son out of the dungeon, he has been there for ten years now, are you that heartless?"
