System Core Abilities: - "Skill Boost": Temporarily increases Elian's skills and abilities - "Game Reading": Gives Elian real-time analysis and predictions of the game - "Body Enhancement": Enhances Elian's physical abilities, allowing him to perform superhuman feats. Level up to gain more abilities. As Elian rises to fame and success, he must confront the darkness within himself and the true nature of the Awakening System trying to consume his humanity. Will he find a way to balance his ambition with his humanity, or will the darkness of the system consume him completely? *it’s my very first system novel since I’m not a fan of systems. you should know before you start reading that the system is very realistic and the MC would struggle with it a lot. oh and, it contains a little sci-fi. just a tiny bit, it doesn’t affect the main story. There will be romance too, like, the MC would get a life besides football.

Elian nodded his head approvingly. It was quite satisfactory, what he was seeing here.

He had totally forgotten that he had leveled up after scoring the third goal in that champions league match yesterday. He had been too excited, especially with the director calling him and telling him that Nottingham forest's offer has been rejected.

They saw his worth again, he had reminded them once again how valuable he had been to them. If Elian managed to perform in such a manner again, then he was sure to start getting offers from professional clubs from all over the world. Of course, he would filter his choice to Europe, that is if his club allowed him to leave.

His contract was expiring this season, so he had to win the U-19 champions league this season and they had to get their hands on the premier league title too.

After that, he had his eyes on the professional world of football, before the World Cup that was coming up the next year. Thankfully, England, his country club had qualified for the 2094 World Cup in Nigeria. He had to set his eyes on that too.

But what were the chances that he was going to win a World Cup at the age of 18? Only very few players had managed that.

Elian closed the tab and turned around to leave but he didn't see two guys- I call them guys because I don't want to call them men, as that would them seem a bit old. They are 18 years and are within the same bracket as Elian- who were walking behind him.

"Oh, My apologies." Elian said in his most reserved voice, bowing slightly even.

The guys didn't seem bothered by this, they simply waved him off.

"Hey man, watch where you go, so you don't fall into a pit someday, okay?"

"Sure." Elian replied, smiling.

Elian bowed again, and made to leave but one of them suddenly drew him back.

"Hey wait!" One of them called out, grabbing Elian's arm.

Elian turned, one brow raised quizzically. "Any problem?"

The stranger shook his head, while still fixing a very close gaze on Elian.

After a while he spoke. "Aren't you Slade? The Mancity player…?"

Elian nodded his head, then he remembered these two. They were footballers playing for Liverpool Fc. They were new signings so he didn't really recognize them, but he remembered their face as they were subbed into the match in the final minutes of the game, in the last match of the 2092/93 season featuring Liverpool and Manchester City's U-19 team, when Liverpool had beaten them 3-0.

Elian still remembered that match, it seemed that the referee had been a big hater of their team, because all his bookings had been against them. Elian had performed excellently well in that match, but it hadn't been enough, Noah had been out of form that day.

Everyone, including the press acknowledged that match as the only match that they had seen Noah miss so many chances and ultimately, it resulted in a loss for Manchester City.

But that aside, these two boys were here now and not in Liverpool. He wondered what they came here to do.

Elian looked them over. "Carson and Amir…I guess?"

Carson nodded. "That's right man, you still remember us? What a great memory you've got!"

Elian simply nodded, taking the compliment in good faith. But in reality, the only reason he remembered them was because he had recently seen them in an article online, they had both been involved in a scandal and their full names had been written in block letters.

But how could he tell them this? That this was the reason he even remembered that he had ever come in contact with them in the first place?

"So what's up?" What are you doing here? Elian asked, in a hurry to leave.

He couldn't just walk out on these people even though that was what he really felt like doing.

Carson shrugged. He hesitated for a while, as if trying to think of what to say. It was after he had thought for a while and he could think of nothing reasonable that Amir decided to say something.

"Nothing much, we're on something you can consider as a leave." What are you up to?

Elian paused for a while. Had he not been a fellow footballer, he wouldn't have understood this, he might have even been fooled for a moment to truly believe that they were on leave.

A footballer, on leave? When the season had just began?

It was then that he was forced to remember the other part of the article that he'd read only a few days ago.

"CARSON AND AMIR TO BE SUSPENDED FROM THEIR TEAM AGAINST THE MANCHESTER DERBY FOR GROSS CONDUCT AND INDISCIPLINE."

Elian suddenly winced. He had just had a rude reminder of the tough matches that awaited them in the next fifteen days.

They had managed to scale through the second one after losing the first one and that was on the day Elian discovered the awakening system. The second match was against PSG and they had managed to beat PSG with a stunning margin of three goals.

But it wasn't over, the going was only getting tougher. PSG hadn't even been in much of a strong form this season. But that couldn't be said for Manchester United and Liverpool.

The top three at the table was Manchester United at No 1, Liverpool at No 2 and Chelsea at No 3.

And they were facing two of those teams in the top run in their next two matches.

Elian glanced at Carlo as he started speaking again. "Do you have a moment?"

Elian shrugged. "It depends. A moment for?"

Amir stared at Elian's eyes. "A little training session?"

Elian furrowed his brows a little, not quite understanding the reason for this. "Do you have any idea what they are thinking…Meta?" Elian thought inwardly, reaching out to Meta.

Meta replied him. "No. I don't. But I'd suggest you play along with them for a while, it might not be a bad choice after all, you might just end up learning something good."

Elian nodded. But he wasn't going to show them that he wanted to go with them, he was going to ask more questions and garner even more information. Who knew if they had a bad intention for him? After all these two were very poor in discipline.

"A little training session? What do you mean?" Elian asked, pretending to understand.

Carson shrugged. "Well, we saw your game yesterday and honestly…it was just fantastic. Genius…is the word."

Elian nodded, well, if they were this honest, then he guess he couldn't refute them. Moreover they were right…he was a genius.

Meta sighed. "Don't get carried away…brat!"

Elian was startled at the loud voice that suddenly sounded in his head, he jolted, equally startling Carson and Amir.

Elian wanted to look serious at first, but when he saw the surprised look on Carson's face and the way Amir peered at him closely, as if trying to figure out if he was possessed, he had no choice but to burst into laughter, trying to lighten up the mood.

Surprisingly for him, this didn't go the way he wanted, his laughter sounded a bit weird, even to his own ears and it made Carson and Amir shudder even more, stepping back in weariness.

Seeing their reaction, Elian immediately terminated his laugh.

"Jeez, Jeez, it's okay, man. Let's just go."

Amir nodded his head as he turned around, grabbing Carson's arm.

"Is he always such a weirdo?"

"Dunno. I guess so."

"I almost thought he was possessed there for a moment."

"Yeah, me too."
