The land of dreams

Peter opened his eyes and the blazing sun greeted him, butterflies surrounded him as he stood up. As he got up he began to notice he was in a field of different varieties of the most beautiful flowers with colorful birds in the sky and creatures on the fields he had never seen before. As he observed the field he saw one of the exotic creatures walking towards him, it had a furry body and a horn on its head like that of a unicorn, it had big green eyes and two large teeth just poking out of its furry mouth. It also had a long furry tail and was about four meters wide and five feet tall and although it was scary it was quite fascinating. At first, Peter was scared but just then the creature spoke;

"Hello Peter"

"How do you know my name?" Peter asked.

"I know everyone here Peter," the creature said.

"Where is this place?"

"It's the land of dreams Peter"

"I'm I asleep?" Peter asked.

"That's the only explanation," the creature said

"The last thing I remember was that Mr. Rublert attacked....., My friends! they're in danger" Peter said panicking. "How do I wake up?" he asked.

"You can't Peter. You were put to sleep by Angel dust" said the creature. "They'll have to take you to the Angel that made the Angel dust so they can wake you up".

"Mr creature... I'm sorry for calling you that, what's your name?" Peter asked.

"Call me Mr. Greensbury," the creature said.

"Mr. Greensbury sir where are my friends now?" he asked.

"Well I can't show you, but I know where they are at the moment," Mr. Greensbury said.

"Are they safe?"

"They managed to defeat the goblin tailor and now they're headed for Krabstinole"

"Thank goodness. But is it safe for them" Peter asked? "Because Mr. Rublert said the Angels don't like associating with either humans or demons".

"Honestly speaking Peter, it isn't safe in the slightest, by now the Queen enforcers should've noticed that they're presently in the Angel realm and would've gone out to hunt them but from what I know Peter your friends are very strong".

"I hope they succeed," Peter said. "But do they know how they'll wake me up?" Peter asked.

"I'm sure they'll figure it out". Peter turned away from Mr. Greensbury to continue to take in the beautiful sight when he saw a woman in a white robe holding a basket of apples and walking into a garden.

"Are there other people too?" Peter asked.

"It's your dream Peter, there are lots of things here" Mr. Greensbury replied. He approached the woman and as he got closer he had the feeling he had met the woman before but he didn't know where.

"Do I know that woman?" Peter asked.

"Of course, you do. Anybody you see here you've seen before in the real world". He tossed fear aside and called out to the woman and when she turned and saw him she dropped her basket and ran towards him crying.

"Why's she running towards me Mr. Greensbury sir?"

"It's because she's your mother Peter, your real mother" Mr. Greensbury answered.

"My mother?" but I never knew her," Peter said.

"You're right, but it doesn't stop her from being part of your dreams Peter. She's something you've subconsciously always dreamed about, you don't notice it when you wake up because the love from Mrs. Burton covers it but the truth is you've always wanted the love of your real mother ever since you found out about her".

The woman on getting to Peter hugged him so tight as her tears dropped uncontrollably.

"Peter my child, it's so good to see you," she said. Peter just stood blank and didn't know what to say. "I understand you probably may not know me but I'm your real mother. When the demon council members came for me I couldn't run or hide from them and I didn't want to lose you either so I gave you to a friend to take to the hum..."

"I know all of that mom there's no need to explain anything to me," Peter said and hugged her tightly.

Meanwhile, Alice and the rest of the children after two days arrived at the town and quietly from the hills observed the town. It wasn't a very large place from where they were looking, the buildings were just about a few hundred and the people weren't very plenty too from where they were watching.

"How do you suppose we ask for help without them trying to kill us first?" Adrien asked.

"Well, I do have an idea," Alice said with a shady smile on her face.

"From your smile, I can tell this will probably not end well," Adrien said.

"Let's leave that for now, Alice common let's hear it," Claire said.

"We'll capture one of those merchants," said Alice pointing to the toll gate just at the entrance of the town. "Then we'll question him about finding a remedy to Angel dust".

"Oooh we're Angelnappers now," said Marie sarcastically.

"Relax Marie, it's not like we have an option, or do you have one?" Alice asked.

"No I don't," Marie said.

"And besides we won't torture him, we'll just threaten him and we'll probably get what we want," Alice said. After about thirty minutes some merchants began to ride away in their carts but they patiently waited for the last one who seemed to have had a problem with his horse's rein but after a while, he fixed it and was on his way. As he approached the bend that led to the traveler's path Alice used a spell that detached the horse's rein from the cart so he came down to fix it and as he stepped down from the cart Adrien and Kylian rushed over with pointed wands and guided him into the forest and luckily for them the merchant wasn't a magic user he was a nomag so he was easy to capture.

"Now we'll be asking you a couple of questions," Alice said. "And if you say something we don't want to hear I'll make your left leg go away" she threatened.

"Ok then what do you want to know?" said the merchant shakily.

"Are you familiar with the term Angel dust?" Alice asked.

"Yes, I am".

"Tell us about it," Alice said.

"It's made by special types of Angels. They're called the guardian angels; it's only sold to merchants so we use it for protection against bandits" said the merchant.

"And how many guardian angels are in that town?" Adrien asked.

"Just one. it's usually one guardian angel per town except for when there's a high-level threat" the merchant said.

"And how can the effects of the angel dust be reversed?" Alice asked.

"Just take the affected person to the guardian angel who made the angel dust and they'll be fine".

"Just like that?" Marie and Kylian asked in unison.

"Yes, just like that," the merchant said but he wasn't telling the truth.

"How do we find this guardian angel?" Alice asked.

"She's at the end of the town, her cottage won't be difficult to locate as it's the only cottage in all of krabstinole with a large rose petal attached to her roof," the merchant said. After they got their answer from the merchant they fixed his horse's rein and let him go. They went back to their hideout on the hills and when it was dark they left into the town. As they walked through the streets they were surprised because no one was outside, it was very quiet like the town was obsolete, it was indeed quite different from the nightlife in the human and demon realms. They got to a part of the street that had two roads and they immediately became confused as to which way they could take.

"Which way do we go now? That sly merchant didn't tell us there'll be something like this" Marie said.

"We should split up, Marie and I would take the road to the left and you guys take the one to the right," Kylian said.

"No that won't be a good idea, we're treading on dangerous waters as it is, I don't want us getting into more trouble," Alice said. Just then they saw a shadow on the floor and immediately they all got into offensive positions around Peter's sleeping body that Adrien had been carrying all along.

"It seems you guys are lost," the shadow said.

"Since when did shadows talk Alice?" Kylian asked shakily.

"Anything like this back at the demon realm?" Adrien asked.

"Would you guys just shut up!" Claire said angrily.

"What are you?" Alice asked.

"I am Melwise whitewing of the order of guardians and I am the guardian angel assigned to this town. Who are you?" she asked.

"Uhmm we're humans and Alice is a demon but we mean no harm" Adrien said as he tried to force out a smile. The shadow began to rise from the ground until it stood like a person and its body came into form and she was beautiful; she had golden eyes and red hair and her body was covered with a gown made out of feathers. They were all dumbfounded by her breathtaking beauty that they almost forgot the reason they were there.

"What is it you want?" Melwise asked.

"It's our friend, he had angel dust blown on his face and now he won't wake up," Alice said.

"Why do you think I'll help you?" Melwise said.

"You're an angel isn't that what you do?" Claire said.

"It seems you don't understand that your being here makes you in hostile territory and plenty of danger," Melwise said. "I'm going to have to kill you or the order will have my head".

"Common just listen we've been invaded by the demon realm and we've come to seek help. If you don't join this battle now they'll come for your world next and they'll most likely succeed" Alice said.

"Illumina" Melwise muttered stretching her hand towards Alice and a ball of light appeared over her head revealing her face. "Are you by any chance related to Sarah Burton?"

"Yes she's my mother," Alice said. "You know her?".

"Yes I do, she was a friend of mine. I gave her cover when she came here but that was thirty years ago if I can remember". Melwise said.

"That means it wasn't a coincidence the Jade relic brought us here," Alice said. "My mother knew we'd probably meet you here".

"I'd like to think so because I gave her that relic as a parting gift that would bring her directly here if she wanted to visit," Melwise said "Any way you guys follow me to my cottage, heads will not fall today" she smiled.
