Chapter 111: night terrors (2)

Ian woke up with his whole body shivering and covered in cold sweat.

He looked at his hands then hastily looked around him.

He let out a sigh of relief when he saw Tia sleeping soundly beside him.

'It was just a nightmare, it was just a nightmare.'

He repeatedly tell himself as he went to the bathroom and took a cold shower to calm his nerves.

After showering he rummage through Tia's drawers and found the pills prescribed by Kenny.

He despised taking meds, he hates the fact that he had to rely on drugs and he promised himself that he would only take it as a last resort.

But since it was just two days ago when he's last episode occured, he doesn't want Tia to worry about him.

He was about to take a pill but hesitated, he closed the lid, changing his mind.

He figured, he can't just possibly rely on meds and become drug dependent for the rest of his life.

He opted to go outside for a drive instead.

He aimlessly roam around the city, with nowhere else to go, he decide to stay at BYTE's rooftop.

It was already 3am, the whole S City was all peaceful and quiet.

The rooftop still looked the same. His "haven" was still tranquil and serene.

He looked at the spot where he saw Tia again for  the first time.

He let out a chuckle as he thought about how they crossed path again.

Atleast this time, it was him who saved her.

Cold wind blow on his face as he lit a cigarette and took a deep drag.

He was thinking about his nightmare.

He reckon it must've been due to the fact that he's been stressed about hurting Tia through foreplay that he actually dreamt about it.

His whole body felt so fatigued due to lack of sleep, but whenever he tried closing his eyes, he could still see Tia's lifeless face.

He's thinking that it's best for him to stay away from Tia.

He might really hurt her if things escalates and he lose control.

He was so immense into thinking what to do, that he didn't notice that it was already nearing dawn.

He was pulled out of his trance when his phone started ringing in his pocket.

He take out his phone and reluctantly answered the call.
