Chapter 14 Awakening (2)
It was a very delightful thing to have your partner by your side.
He never expected that his old partner would regress and awaken his memory.
Since the contract between the two was established, they had spent most of their time traveling across the various planets and worlds. The bond and trust between them had already withstood the test of time.
In fact, without building enough trust and sincerity, an intelligent life form would never agree to establish a spiritual contract with another life form.
Why? It was because a spiritual contract is a bond. It is a link that connects the souls of all its contractees. It enables them to communicate and contact each other spiritually beyond the boundary of race, language, and space.
To some extent, all the secrets of the two were transparent to each other.
To talk about a Spiritual Contract, it must be understood that, besides mutual trust, the contract must also be established voluntarily.
And to maintain the continued existence of the contract bond, mutual trust must continue to be tempered over time.
That was why Lu Yang was incredibly grateful to see his partner once again. If nothing else, his partner was his most trustworthy friend in the whole universe.
When thinking about his Spiritual Contract, Lu Yang couldn't help but sigh at the fate of humanity.

In fictional works, beasts were tamed, contracted, and summoned at the mercy of their master's wishes.
Centered on the belief in human supremacy, these works elevate humans as the masters of the universe, subduing various races.
Acts of subduing, taming, and enslaving other races were shown as a regular occurrence. In extreme cases, using beautiful words and the pretext of cutting off the roots, they would discriminate, kill, and torture other races as inferior lifeforms.
They used human logic and rationality as the benchmark for civilization.
But, this biased thinking could not withstand the test of reality.
This is because the reality was different compared to the fictional world.
Because the reality was that human was not a supreme existence nor the only intelligent lifeform.
The ingrained worldview instilled in the human mind through this fictional and biased work had put humanity almost on the brink of destruction.
Because humans were never prepared to face the universe civilization!
-
Fantasy may use reality as a reference to create its world-building.
But reality would not change to accommodate what humanity constitutes as the norm.
Even if humans take fictional worlds as a reference along with the imaginary worldview from myth and religious beliefs texts, the reality humans faced in the future still subverted them to lose the Earth.
The conclusion reached by the world leaders after the fall of the Earth was that they had been arrogant in using human standards of value when contacting outside races.
The speculative illusion born out of their expectations had ruined the other parties' good intentions and faith that they had put in humanity.
When human leaders realized the relationship had turned sour and mistrust had deepened, humanity had already been isolated from allies and friends.
Another finding years later further delved into Earth's failure.
Several years after the fall of the Earth, several case studies by famous academicians revealed several possibilities that led to the failure of Earth's civilization.
The primary conjecture was that when humans met universe civilization, their mentality was still clinging to their primitive thinking and logic.
Under the illusion and possibility of facing an imaginative enemy, trust was never truly forged between friendly allies.
Because of human's short lifespan, the lesson from human history of war and chaos was only read in textbooks and literature.
While having the right minds, humanity, despite being of the same race, was in a state of disunity when faced with foreign races.
Even when conflict occurs among humans, skin colors, languages, beliefs, and nationalities have already caused them to have prejudice, disagreement, fights, and even war with one another.
It was only expected that when dealing with different species and lifeforms, their prejudices among each other would be magnified.
As they said, people with different minds must not be their own.
Each group of humans made contact with other races with their calculations and interests.
Unfortunately, they were still trapped within their old mentality.
Language barriers hindered them from truly understanding the so-called cosmic civilization.
They mistakenly thought that many outside civilizations were primitive races. Using human value as the standard, many thought that unless there was evidence of 'advanced' technology, these races' civilization was inferior to humans.
If there were no flying vehicles and spaceships, humans thought these civilizations were still trapped in their planets and were not as advanced as them.
If there was no trace of steam, fire, and steel in their technology tree, humans classified these alien races as primitive civilizations.
If no 'traditional' social structure existed among them, they were seen as primitive creatures.
If there was no trace of the use of money, trade, and economy, these races were viewed as ancient and primitive as humans in the ice age once were.
Under this premise, thinking of taking advantage of the olive branch offered by others, humanity mistakenly thought they had gained an advantage to venture into the intergalactic era.
Unfortunately, they could not differentiate between an intelligent lifeform with equal standing, a superior being that transcended, or a lowly beast and animals they could prey on.
Finally, war broke out under the most inconspicuous and neglected reason.
One of Earth's peak influences was caught dealing with taming and domesticating newborn fire-element red griffins for supplying humans with beast contracts.
