As Orion rested atop the hobgoblin, a bone necklace appeared in front of him, floating.
"Is this the dungeon reward? Are dungeons also sentient beings? Guess I gotta investigate this matter later." Orion took the necklace made of bones and wore it on top of Dracula's necklace to test its effects.
"Is this an auxiliary type that boosts my strength or an attack type? I have to appraise it with an appraiser during the visit to the guild."
Orion came out of the dungeon. "You two, inform the officials the dungeon has been cleared by me, and I will provide the proof when I visit later." Instructing this to the guards, Orion left.
He hurried back home as it was morning, and his sister might come to visit him at his room at any moment. Orion entered his room through the window, changed his clothes, and went to the training hall to practice swordsmanship.
Orion entered the training hall; Evangelion said, "Brother, you are late again." Evangelion was standing there, holding her sword, wearing white training clothes. She threw the wooden sword at him. "Anyways, come, let's practice."
The pair of siblings stood at the center of the stadium. The only difference between them was several red markings on Orion's shoulders, legs, even blood from his cheek. "Huh, my sister, can't you go easy on me, your brother who isn't even awakened yet."
Evangelion said, "You are such a liar, Orion. Why do I feel like you always hold back when we fight?"
Orion responded, "Oh, dear sister of mine, I am an innocent 3-year-old boy, not a genius like you who is a D-ranker. Please spare me from such cruelty. Come on; it's almost breakfast time. I'm very hungry."
Evangelion said, "Orion, Father wanted to talk to you about something in his office. Go meet him after breakfast."
Orion asked, "Is it time? How should I convince him to postpone the awakening ceremony? It would be better for me to awaken when I am at least 10."
Orion completed his food and entered his father's office. A middle-aged man with black hair and brown eyes, Adam, sat there reading through a bunch of paperwork.
Orion asked, "Why did you call for me, Father?"
Adam said, "Orion, get ready. We are going to the capital for the awakening ceremony. We will be leaving in a week's time."
Orion replied, "Father, I want to undergo the awakening ceremony when I turn 10. Until then, I want to focus on my swordsmanship and hone it like Great Grandfather Nathan Nightshades."
Adam replied, "Orion, don't be foolish enough to believe that you can walk on his path. He was the strongest of his generation through pure swordsmanship and aura. Besides, if you awaken now, you can easily decide which path to take."
Orion said, "Father, I don't have enough interest in becoming the successor of the Nightshade family. You can provide that to my sister; I am not as talented as her. So my only wish towards you is that you can wait until I turn 10."
Adam said, "As if you can compete for the successor position with your mediocre skill and that arrogant poker face. Fine, do as you wish, but remember your words. I don't want you to collude with the branch families in the succession process."
Orion replied, "Fine, Father. I won't." Saying that, he left his office with anger and resentment towards this man. Every moment he spent in his office, he had simulated various ways of killing him. Dark and gory pictures engulfed his mind.
"Should I just poison him? No! I should show him despair, the feeling of utter powerlessness when I sit on my throne, while he will be shivering with fear and admiration for my power."
Evangelion said, "Orion, Orion." I blinked my eyes. "Are you even in this world? What did Father say? Did he scold you again? I don't know why he hates you so much."
Orion replied, "Sister, stop it. Nothing happened. I just postponed my awakening ceremony to when I become 10 years old. I want to walk on the path of Great Grandpa." Evangelion placed her hand on top of her brother's shoulder and said, "Don't worry; I fully trust you. After all, you're my dear brother."
Orion said, "Thank you, sister. Now, how about we continue the spar?"
Evangelion replied, "Hoho, let's go then. Don't beg me to stop when you are beaten into a pulp." And the spars continued, and both of them had a lot of fun. Time passed, and evening came. Both of them were sweating profusely, and there were scars all around Orion's body from the wooden blade.
Evangelion said, "Oreo, let's stop here. Putting too much strain on our bodies at such a young age stunts our growth. Besides, you are injured; go get some rest."
Orion thought, 'Hm, my sister isn't as strong as that hobgoblin I fought. Is she holding back for my sake? Hm, if it weren't for me exposing my strength, I would have given a fight for her money. Pity that won't happen any time soon.'
Orion returned from the training hall, entered his room, took a shower, changed his clothes, and transformed himself into Chad, the E-rank adventurer. He left the mansion and reached in front of the adventurer's guild.
Orion entered the guild building and went in front of Rose with his charming smile.
Rose asked, "Are you here to provide proof for dungeon clearance?"
Orion replied, "Yes, I want to appraise this item as proof," providing the bone necklace for appraisal.
Rose said, "It will take quite a while until then. You can check the bulletin for any missions."
Orion said, "By any chance, perhaps there is an E-rank Undead Dungeon?"
Rose replied, "Let me see." She shuffled through the papers and found an E-rank one and handed it to him.
Orion said, "Looks like it's time to acquire my first cheat."
