CHAPTER 20: THE DARK POWER

Harpies warn DWYER that he should not return the stolen.

DWYER amedrentado, it is not explained How come they know that he brings THE HEART OF MAGIC?

They tell him to make a wish for the stone.

Temptation enters DWYER's feelings.

In his eyes you can see the desire for power.

The harpies laughing, they let themselves be seen.

One by one it flies to perch around DWYER.

The human, comes out in moments of his trance of terror and selfishness.

He realizes he stole the stone.

Guilt invades him, his hands tremble, he drops the leather bag where he put the king's treasure.

The harpies speak to DWYER, they tell him that he was already imbued with THE HEART OF MAGIC, if he did not die, then the power of magic belongs to him.

Tempting and reliving selfish feeling, he tries to take the mind of DWYER which resists and shouts refusing to have betrayed DRAKO, the entire kingdom.

At the castle, DRAKO has met with the soldiers where they took the castle survivors, DRAKO has been looking for his friend DWYER and has not located him, asks the soldiers for help.

Many of them tell him that he found no trace of DWYER, in one of the groups, one of the soldiers declares that, Councilman DWYER left the castle about an hour before the earthquake.

A bad idea crosses DRAKO's mind.

The image of his friend is what he brings in his head, the one in the midst of a sudden movement, flies in search of the stone: THE HEART OF MAGIC.

The king, heading towards the area of the castle where the stone was kept.

Elsewhere, Councilman DWYER cries and snots like a baby, he regrets what harpies have confessed to him.

The king's castle was destroyed and almost all of his family and inhabitants have perished.

DWYER, you can't believe DRAKO's family is dead.

He feels terrible guilt.

Harpies tempt him, there's not much time for the king to find him.

Besides, he's a poor old human, soon he'll die, either because of his human nature or the king's hatred, will he be left to die holding power in his hands?

The stone is able to give him eternal life and youth, he could live eternally and travel to know the whole new world.

This idea completely defeats the sanity of DWYER who rushes to take the leather bag and touch the stone with his hands by putting it aloft.

Meanwhile, DRAKO arrives at the remains of the vault that kept the stone, he realizes that he is not there.

He knows this proves nothing, he scolds himself.

However, on site, he finds, an aluminum bottle that DWYER sometimes used to bring his spirits.

The king full of fury and indignation trampls on him and throws powerful bragged of hatred, without fury, they are of pain.

In the place of harpies, DWYER claims the power of stone as its own and it envelops it with power in a white aura, so much so that it is the power that, his skin begins to take off from his flesh, causing him an indescribable pain.

Screaming in pain.

Still, he refuses to let go of the stone.

Thousands of manticore and harpies emerge from the woods, which, as they feel power, have approached.

DWYER, surrounded by all the exiled beasts in the area, sees rejoicing in it, the white aura that surrounded it, now turns gray to dark.

The whole place is filled with dark light, enveloping those beasts.

The stone then reacts, spreading the power of DWYER's body, to thousands of beasts.

Thus reaching a balance... DWYER's skin finishes tearing and wrapped in a slight breeze that completely removes the skin.

Let it be seen that, underneath that skin, DWYER, he is a young man again, strong and powerful.

Who smiles for his triumph.

Those beasts celebrate, not the beginning of a new king, other than the defeat of the entire kingdom.

DWYER rides on a harpy that approaches him and invites him to climb on it.

He leaves with his new army of dark beasts to the opposite side of the council kingdom.

On a slightly more secluded piece of land.

The first order he gives is to rob all the humans nearby.

For they will be your people and he will be your new king.

Then harpies and manticore are thrown rejoiced in fulfilling such orders.

From many areas, humans who, while defended by the protectors of the places, are stolen, are the ones who are destroyed by the extraordinary strength acquired by harpies and manticore with the power of stone.

Staying that way, the desolate regions.

DWYER and his new subjects migrated north.

To the mountains, where he would establish his kingdom. Unknown lands, not knowing that I would find old enemies of the council kingdom.

And even some new enemies, similar to humans, pointed ears, extremely white skin, long, straight hair mostly, deep-looking eyes, wise mind, much longer-lived than any human, all of them very powerful according to their element.

With which dragons, led by ANCALAGON, have had to deal with for thousands of years.

In the council kingdom, the alert of manticore and harpy attacks, the theft of humans and mass massacres of protectors has been declared.

It's bleak ground for everyone.

Survivors barely reach a few thousand.

Only the humans sheltered in the vicinity of the kingdom were the ones who have been freed from kidnapping.

The king, deeply wounded, can no longer trust humans. He feels too many things inside his heart.

He's scared.
