Why does it taste like sour orange?

As she was looking at the two items suddenly right next to the gift box a description was given.

~desc: ????, Gives a certain percentage chance of a skill and or item.~

'Huh, that really didn't say much did it?' she thought while looking over the text, suddenly the idea to see what the orb says caught up to her finally.

~ITEM name: The Orb of lost memories~

~Desc: Eating it will make you remember what you have forgotten or lost.~

~uses: 3/3~

So this is what I need for the quest, I am a bit hesitant about using it right now so ill use the gift box first.

As she thought that she reached out to the screen to grab the box, but her hand just passed through, bringing the hand back there was no gift box to be seen.

'So do I think about taking it out?' she questions to nobody. 'Clearly, the tutorial isn't really that great as it does not explain the basics.'

As she sighed in her mind, she focused on the gift box with the idea of bringing it out of the inventory, suddenly a small box appears on her lap.

The box was black with a red bow on top, it was no bigger than her palm, opening the lid a somewhat bright light came out with a cold breeze.

Then the box broke apart and disappeared, after that, a ding was heard and as she took to look at her status she saw that she had a new item as well.

Looking at the item, it looked like a sword covered in ice. Though that was an assumption since she couldn't really tell.

Looking at the description did not help at all either

'Mana?' She thought that was strange since there was no stat for it on the status page.

'I'll worry about this later, it's of no use to me right now anyways', turning to the status page she see a new skill added onto it.

Looking at the skills description somewhat shocked her, as she honestly did not think it would cost that much, plus now she had a new stat which she did not think she would get that fast.

'Five points per lance?! I would only be able to cast it five times' she thought with grief.

As she thought this, she had heard a *DING*. Turning her head to the mission page she saw

With nothing else to do aside from the last quest of the mission, she took out the orb. It was a small as one of those gumballs you could get at a machine in front of a store.

It was shining white and blue mixed together, putting it in her mouth it dissolved.

For some reason, it tasted like orange??
