Xue Ling handed over the food in the box to the child, closed the box, and then placed it into Yu Peng's hands without a second thought.
Yu Peng insisted on holding onto her lunch box for her.
Nan Feng couldn't help but watch Xue Ling, she truly was a girl who didn't realize how fortunate she was.
Many of the restaurants in the county were closed. The three of them had to walk several streets before finding a noodle shop that was still open, and so they went in to have some noodles.
The tables in the shop were a bit greasy, so Yu Peng took out a handkerchief to wipe the seats for Xue Ling, who seemed to take it for granted that these were things Yu Peng should do.
Seeing Nan Feng's gaze, Yu Peng explained: "Xue Ling has been busy all day over there, so it's only fair that I do more."
After wiping Xue Ling's seat, Yu Peng was about to do the same for Nan Feng but was quickly stopped: "No need, Mr. Yu, I can do it myself."
