The Counter Attack

"Wait, I know you." She says her as eyes grow wide.

"You're the adopted son of resident Rose over Omnica Corporation. Last I heard you deemed a genius and just disappeared. What happened to you?" She asks.

"I started doing research for the government and developed weapons and other boring stuff. Anyhow, we have limited time to prepare for the upcoming mission.

Abigale it seems that I do need your help and I'm willing to pay you for your services..."

"I'm in." She says cutting me off.

I don't bother stressing over the details of anything as the trip to where my base of operations will take an hour and we need to leave now.

As S3bastion drives us there, I fill her in on what's about to go down and what I need her to do.

My mistake when the Omnic Crisis started showed me that I needed help.

I needed someone to keep me updated on events that were happening while I was in the field as I didn't have time or the skill to do it myself.

I planned on having her be like Oracle from Batman.

After a moderately long drive, we travel to an open spot in the desert walking up to a giant rock.

I tap on a certain area on it and punch in a 12 sequence code which causes the rock to split to reveal an elevator.

The elevator takes us to a bunker with a room with a kitchen, a bedroom that had 10 different bunk beds, a recreation room filled with different games and activities, a storage room with enough food stocked for a year, an armory and finally a room for research.

After the tour, I show her a room with a giant screen next to a computer, explaining that the base detects and deters any robotic presence within a kilometer. The base is undetectable by certain sensors and its location is only known by one other person.

I realize that the base is an introverted dream as I watch her run around like an excited puppy.

While shes exploring, I go to the armory and grab a specially crafted HK416 to include a grenade launcher attachment that shoots emp grenades.

Packing two more special weapons just in case we need it in the car, we lock the bunker after ourselves, as Abigale gets comfortable.

We made it back in time for them to gather their weapons from the police headquarters and were waiting on my arrival before moving out.

I learned that the Chief wanted to move out even though I wasn't there, but some knew that it would be a tremendous help so they were stalling until I arrived.

There were 150 total, only 35 being trained officers while 75 said they had some training with guns and the rest never touched a weapon.

There was only a limited number of police issued assault rifles which were held directly by the trained officers while everyone else held the standard Glock-22.

I was starting to think back to my earlier assumption as to this being a bad idea.

Standing at the headquarters, the Chief lays down his plan.

"There will be two groups, Group A and Group B. Group A will be the majority, responsible for distracting them while Group B will infiltrate and apprehend the target.

Our best bet is to take and maintain control of the outer perimeter of the building, reporting back any and all movement.

We can expect their strength to lie in their numbers otherwise not too much resistance.

Fight smart and from a distance and always stay with a partner.

Let's move out."

I stay with S3bastian as no one seems to think that he's an omnic and I don't want him doing anything stupid on his own the entire drive there.

As the building comes into view, we see a line of omnics blocking the road into the facility.

The Chief takes his van with his people and plows right through them.

Two omnics manage to grab onto the sides of the van while the others fall over, getting driven over by the other vans.

The omnics on the van pull their hand back and instantly get blasted off as pellets tear through the side of the van from the inside.

As the omnics tumble on the road, vans run over those as well as we pull up to the parking lot of the building.

Omnics are scattered throughout the entire front of the building as we spill out of the vans.

Shots echo through the air, as the sounds of gunfire pops off and the omnics start dropping.

Everyone follows the plan and starts to spread out, trying to cover the parking lot of the building.

Taking down omnics that get too close, we slowly push towards the door on the front of the building.

As someone nears the steps, the doors open and a wave of omnics flood through.

The frontline of our offense isn't prepared as they get grabbed.

We back up aiming at the new wave of omnics but not firing as the men who got grabbed struggle against their captors.

The men stand no chance as they are ripped apart right before our eyes by the omnics who continue to spill out the door.

The Chief snatches an assault rifle from someone next to him and opens fire on the line of omnics, whether the men are alive or not.

Bullets riddle through the bodies of the men, killing them instantly while downing two omnics as three more take their place.

The new people on the frontline glance at each other with sadness in their eyes before turning back to the omnics and opening fire.

A shout comes from behind us.

"Watch our flank!"

I turn to see a wave of about a hundred omnics walking fast towards us, cutting us off from the vans.

The back starts firing on the flanking omnics but it looks like it makes little difference as they swarm towards us.

I realize that it's not looking good and if we don't want to lose a lot of people I need to intervene.

Stepping to the back, I pull my assault rifle, aiming the grenade part up.

The grenade launches towards the third row of omnics and sets off an arc of lighting, chaining between each row of omnics.

Using this to our advantage, we open fire once again as I put my assault rifle on my back.

My hands fizzle with lightning as I channel the electricity from the battery on my back forming a ball the size of a basketball in my hand.

I fling the electric ball towards the stunned omnics and it strikes them in between the second and third row.

A blinding light appears second before thunder sounds off as robotic parts fly off in all directions, taking out around half of the approaching Omnics.

The group is impressed with the display of power and fights with newfound confidence, actually managing to push back both sides of the Omnica attack.

We push back the Omnics back to the first of the door as we also maintain 80 percent of the parking lot and area in front of the omnium.

We push into the building, clearing the lobby as the Chief shouts,

"Group B on me!"

Nine others, including me and S3bastian rush into the building with Chief.

I ignore the feeling of familiarity the lobby gives off as Chief looks at a board showing the design of the entire facility and omnium.

"Let's split up to cover more ground. Me, Bioshock and Lydia will cover the Presidents office. John, Felix and Sebastian cover the research departments."

"It's pronounced S3bastian human, get it right or be purged." S3bastian interrupts but somehow gets ignored as the Chief continues.

"You three scout out the omnium and check how many units are being produced and you three head towards the reactor, see if you can shut this place down.

Be careful and only engage as a last choice.

We'll meet back here in 30 minutes."

He explains.

Before S3bastian heads off with his group, he hands me my two special weapons as he can't use them.

"Don't do anything crazy." I warn him.

"I can't make any promises. The ride here was bumpy and might have knocked a couple of circuits loose.

I'm pretty sure my fail safe containing non violence against humans was accidentally deleted."

He says as he walks away.

I worry for John and Felix a bit before I realize that I'm in no better situation as I'm with the Chief.

Before in the meeting room he causally mentioned that sent men on a suicide mission then moments ago he sprayed down his own men who got grabbed by Omnics.

You could argue they were already dead, but that reveals a lot of his character and what that could spell for me if I'm not careful.

With the groups split up, Lydia, the female officer who I've been working with before, approaches Chief.

"I think the only way to the Presidents office is through this elevator but I don't know the code."

Thinking fast, I quickly grab a sticky note from the receptionist desk and write down the 25 number sequence and show it to them.

"Good thing for us the receptionist didn't have a good memory." I say.

Taking the note I hear Lydia mumble, "Strange that I missed this."

Putting in the sequence, the elevator takes us up to the Presidents office.

Pushing back the double doors, I see a familiar desk and chair.

When we enter, a deep sinister sounding voice echoes through the office.

"You took your time getting here."

The chair swivels to reveal an everyday Omnic, with purple glowing eyes.

Chief and Lydia aim their guns at it, but I step in front of them, stopping them.

"To who am I talking to exactly?" I ask cautiously.

"You're a smart boy, I'm sure you can work it out." The voice says.

I knew the answer when I asked, I just didn't want to accept it.

I knew he could see everything his Omnic soldiers could but to be here, it was too soon.

It was too risky for him to reveal his presence this early.

"Anubis?"

"Pleased to meet you, Shawn Rose."
