Chapter 11

"Who are you?" Nigun asked to the trio that appeared before him and his comrades while trying to contain his anger.

Just before the three before him had appeared, he was about to kill that fool Stronoff and the so called female saint of that heretic religion and once more prove his dedication to the Six Great Gods, the true gods of this world!

Instead they had disappeared along with the rest of their soldiers and the trio before him had appeared.

A giant of a man that Nigun was suspecting to be a half breed abomination due and two women in armors, one completely covered from head to toe with an axe and one that mostly had armor on more strategic places on might target with the exception of her head with a sword.

So the heavy armored woman was more than likely the tank while the other one was the damage dealer, as such roles have been described by their great gods.

Which left only the man who could be anything, he wasn't wearing any armor but the axe in his hand was definitely magical in nature. A mage that had trained physically perhaps.

"Good evening, gentlemen of Slane Theocracy. My name is Utgard Wotan, and I came here with a glorious proposal for you people." The giant of a man said with a smirk, that was obviously mocking them even with such distance between them, as he rested his axe on his shoulder.

"And what is this… 'proposal'?" Nigun asked, already seeing the man in front of him as a simple savage so he didn't exactly have much interest in proposals but he was the leader of the Sunlight Scripture, therefore he needed to show those under him that he was a civilized man even in front of savages. For as the Great Six Gods had once claimed, 'It is manners and diplomacy that shows us to be different than beasts'.

"Leave this place and I shall let you escape with your worthless lives." And just as he had expected, the man in front of him was nothing more than a savage. Giving out such an insolent proposal with a cocky smirk on his face. There could be only one answer to such 'proposal'!

"I refuse." Nigun said as he gave signal to his subordinates to prepare angels. "We are the Sunlight Scripture of Slane Theocracy and we shall never lower ourselves to making deals with savages like you." Nigun declared.

Utgard on the other hand, he simply smiled wider and put his hand up. Signaling to Albedo and Gudrun NOT to kill the moron in front of him.

"That is the answer I was expecting." Utgard said before he took a step. And then another, slowly walking towards the group of magic casters and angels. Shocking the subordinates while Nigun simply smiled maliciously.

"Hoo, you are approaching us. Instead of running away you are approaching the Sunlight Scripture!" Nigun laughed at the man he saw as a complete idiot, missing his widened eyes and then widened smirk.

"I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer." His words killed Nigun's joy and replaced it with ice cold fury. But smirked as he watched one of the Archangel Flames going towards the giant of a man.

To make sure that it would kill him, he casted several spells in order to 'buff' the angel's speed and the power of it's weapon while also casting several others that raised Principality of Observation's power that strengthened other angels' defensive power. Making sure that the angel would kill the insult man.

But then the angel returned faster than it should be possible and collided with another angel, the collusion turning both of the angels into magical dust.

With wide eyes he looked away from the air where an angel just was before dying and looked back to the man approaching them. His axe still resting on his shoulder but his other arm was stretched to his side with an open palm. Even as he tried to reject the reality in front of him, Nigun had no choice but to accept the reality.

The man approaching them had killed two angel by backhanding one angel towards another one.

"Come now, don't tell me that was your best shot." The man smiled at them as he kept approaching and the magic casters of Sunlight Scripture fell into disarray.

"Impossible!"

"Two angels with only one attack!"

"It has to be some sort of trick!"

"O' Six Great Gods, please protect us!"

Such were their words before one particularly brave caster held out his hand and did what his class was meant to do.

"[Magic Arrow]!" Three arrow made out of magical energy flew from the caster's magic circle and his comrades followed him in his action.

"[Shock Wave]!"

"[Acid Arrow]!"

"[Lightning]!"

"[Iceball]!"

And several other magic spells were sent toward the still walking Utgard, none of them doing any kind of damage. None of them holding enough power to go through Utgard's passive protection skills.

Seeing that the power of magic casters with him was not enough, Nigun decided another course of action.

"Attack him with all angels!" His order was laced with desperation but also hope. Hope that the messengers of higher powers would be able to kill the monster in front of him.

A false hope.

"[Black Hole]!" A black dot appeared in the middle of the horde of angels and sucked all of them inside it, leaving nothing of them behind.

"In just one attack." The members of the Sunlight Scripture weren't even shouting anymore, they just felt… defeated.

With the sole exception of Nigun who took a crystal out of his clothes and ordered the angel behind him. "Principality of Observation, attack!" He ordered, hoping that the defensive angel could buy him enough time to activate the crystal.

Utgard wasn't impressed. Principality of Observation was an angel with the passive ability to raise its comrades' defenses as long as it remained in one place. The fact that the zealot was sending it out to battle showed nothing but desperation and fear.

"[Disintegration]." With one bolt of green light from Utgard's fingertip, the protective anegl was reduced to ashes.

But Nigun didn't care, it had brought enough time for him.

"It is too late, monster! Look upon the glow of the highest tier of angel and despair! Come, Dominion Authority!" And then the light left the crystal and went towards the cloud, creating a circle where am angel even bigger than Principality of Observation floated down.

A giant creature of holy power with six pearly white wings, each one of their feathers glowing with holy light. In it's hands, it held a staff much like one that would be held within the hand of a saint. This was the highest tier of angel that Slane Theocracy possessed and given to Nigun by the Six Cardinals in order to eliminate Gazef Stronoff, but he believed that killing the monster in front of him was a much better use of the angel. He felt like it was the favor of the Six Great Gods he was given the crystal right before facing this monster!

"The highest tier of angel that is even capable of seventh tier magic, the power that can only be held by the gods themselves! You have no chance of surviving it's power! Utgard Wotan, DESPAIR!" Nigun ended his speech with manic laughter but none of his followers were feeling as confident as Nigun. After all...

Utgard was still walking towards them.

Never breaking his stride, Utgard looked upon the angel of the second sphere with boredom. And then he lifted his axe from his shoulder and swung it.

Then Dominion Authority fell, cleanly separated from the middle of it's body.

Seeing the impossible happen in front of his eyes once more, Nigun learned true despair. The angel of the highest tier was killed easily in front of him and the monster who killed it had reached them. None of the member of the Scripture ran, they wanted to but their instincts, honed through years of service, clearly told them. That there would be no meaning in it.

"Are you a demon god?" Nigun's voice was soft, he had hard time comprehending the reality around him.

"I am a Jotunn, an ancient race of powerful beings so no. I am not a demon god. But we were the race that was once called..." At that Utgard smiled down at the zealot before finishing.

"...The Natural Enemy of Gods."

Utgard's words caused Nigun to realize what kind of monster was before him. And like all weak men who believed themselves to be strong just to meet someone truly strong, he could do only one thing.

Beg.

"P-P-Please spare me! Lord Utgard, even if its only me please spare! I swear that I can be useful so please!" And so he went, begging for his life with intensity that he never felt before. Not even for the gods he prayed to.

"That is weird." Utgard said as he rubbed his chin. "I believe that you said that you shall never lower yourself to making deals with savages like me?" Utgard's voice was mocking, his gaze was steely and the mocking smile on his face was the last thing Nigun saw before waking up in hell.
