"And this here is one of the three Holy Maidens of the kingdom, Luna Elegant."
Yeah, Utgard was sure there never had been a loli saint in the new world. A loli vampire, sure. But no saints.
"Oi, what is with that look, you creep?" And there definitely hadn't been RUDE loli saints in the new world.
Utgard had to make a discreet motion with his hand to tell Albedo and Gudrun not to kill the small saint for her disrespect. Going by Gazef's introduction, she was somewhat important to the kingdom and there was no reason to provoke them for now.
"Oi, answer me! Who are you?!" But maybe he should let them rough her up just a little.
"I apologize miss Holy Maiden. My name is Utgard Wotan, and I am the reason you came to a village instead of a graveyard." Utgard said with the politest smile he could manage, which looked more like a mocking smirk.
"HAAAH!" The little maiden yelled, more like shrieked, and looked ready to jump at the Jotunn if not for the hand Gazef placed on her shoulder.
"Please calm down, lady Luna. And lord Utgard, if it is as you say then you have my gratitude and this village has my deepest apologies." The head warrior said before bowing to the Jotunn and villagers on a perfect ninety degrees, shocking the villagers as the soldiers behind him did the same thing.
"P-Please raise your head, sir Gazef." The elder of the village tried to reassure the warrior, ignoring the holy maiden pouting from the side.
"Humph, if these people vouch for you like that then I guess you might not be so bad." Luna said as she turned her head, a pout on her face that made Utgard want to pinch her cheeks.
"Please let us speak inside." The elder once more came to the rescue and they followed him inside to his house to speak.

"So that's what happened." Gazef said after the elder had fully explained what happened before they came to the village, while not mentioning the fact that many villagers had died before the head warrior and female saint reached the Carne village.
"I apologize if I come off as rude but where exactly is the giant wolf that you commanded, sir Utgard?" Gazef asked, wondering how exactly a wolf that was at the size of a building could have gone.
"It went to where all summons go when they are not summoned, sir Gazef." Utgard said with an easygoing smile, literally looking down at the head warrior and the little saint beside him who looked like she barely understood anything.
"I see." Gazer said, seeing the answer for what it was. Telling him to drop it.
"Even so, I must once again thank you, sir Utgard. Please ask me anything you wish, as the head warrior of this kingdom I shall do my best in order to repay you." Gazef smiled as Luna beside him looked shocked at the man's words. However before she could chastise the head warrior of her kingdom, one of the soldiers ran into the house with a very troubled expression.
"Sir! The village has been encircled!"
"What?!" Both Gazef and Luna shouted back at the man before following his finger which was pointed at a hill, a hill where several robed men and angels were waiting.
"Angels." Gazef said with a grim face while Luna beside him looked like she bit down a particularly sour lemon.
"Then this means that those over there are Sunlight Scripture of Slane Theocracy, no other group in the world has means to summon so many angels." Luna said with her teeth grinding on each other in irritation.
Utgard knew that wasn't correct. Pleione alone had the power to summon far more angels and he himself could use a Super Tier spell, Pantheon, in order to summon less in number but far more powerful angels. But he probably should keep that to himself.
"Sir Utgard…" Gazef started talking as he looked at the redheaded giant with a serious gaze. "…would it be possible for me to hire your services?" The head warrior asked and Utgard could already feel the anger of Albedo and Gudrun from the fact that Gazef was treating him as a mere mercenary, a being that could be bought by anyone in YGGDRASIL as far as they were concerned.
"I am afraid that is not possible." Utgard said, his easygoing smile still on his face.
"Huh?! The hell?!" Luna said with a shocked face that was far too cute for their situation.
"It is unfortunate but I have no intention of leaving this village for a while. No matter what."
"So you're just gonna let them kill the villagers?!" The female saint hissed at the Jotunn who's smile never left his face.
"As I've said, I have no intention of leaving the village. Also, I do not believe these people are here for the villagers."
"He's right." Gazef nodded. "Theocracy would never send one of their Scriptures simply to kill some villagers far from the capital. They are here for something else."
"Someone else." Luna said with realization, the casters surrounding the village had came here for either Gazef or her. Or both of them.
"It seems like you are somewhat hated, sir Gazef." Utgard chuckled which was mirrored by the said warrior.
"It, unfortunately, comes with the position." Gazef said, already knowing that this was organized by the nobles of his own kingdom collaborating with the higher ups of Theocracy.
"Will you truly not help us?" Gazef asked one last time, hoping that the taller man might change his mind.
"Nope. But have no worries, I will be staying in this village and won't let even one of them die." He still had plans for the village after all.
"That's all we can ask." Surprisingly, it was Luna who said that. The little girl still didn't seem to like him very much but she seemed to be somewhat at ease at the information that he would be protecting the villagers.
Their resolves hard as diamonds, Gazef and his soldiers rode into battle with their saint in town as Utgard watched from behind with the village elder beside him.
"Elder, what can you tell me about the female saints?" Utgard asked, intending to get some information while waiting for a good moment to intervene where he would look coolest.
"They are important figures in the country due to their role in the religion of this kingdom, the Host Church." Elder started to explain.
"There are three saints in every generation who are chosen by the equipment left behind by Cherubim Virtue, the goddess of their religion who is said to be an angel. Each one of the saints embodies an aspect of the Angels. Blessing, Judgement and Retribution. The eldest female saint embodies Blessing and said to be able to heal any injury or illness, even death." He explained as he looked at Utgard at the mention of healing death.
"The second eldest female saint embodies Retribution which is the only aspect that does not use spells. Instead they use a weapon to destroy the enemies of lady Cherubim, this generation's Retribution is also known to be more… violent than the past ones."
"The Luna there is the youngest who embodies Judgement." Utgard said.
"That is right. Luna Elegant is the female saint of Judgement, the aspect that uses holy magic to punish evil doers. She is also the one who is loved most by the people of the kingdom."
"And why is that?" Utgard asked, genuinely curious why exactly people would love a little brat like that.
"Unlike the other female saints, lady Luna used to be a commoner. Much like sir Gazef was before becoming the head warrior of the kingdom." Elder explained with a small smile on his face. Which disappeared after Utgard's words.
"So that's why they are here."
"What do you mean, my lord?" Elder asked, fearful of the answer he might hear.
"There is no way this Sunlight Scripture could have known that Gazef and Luna would be here. So they must have been informed by someone who knew that they would be here and wanted them dead." Utgard explained his reasoning before finishing. "Something that might be done by corrupt nobles who are not happy about commoner going 'above' their stations." Utgard's words shocked the elder before his expression darkened.
"You are most likely correct sir. To think that the kingdom could have fallen this low…" the elder muttered as tears gathered around his eyes.
"Well, that is enough reason for me to mess up their plans then." Utgard said with a smile and before the shocked elder could say anything the Jotnar continued.
"Albedo, Gudrun; get ready for teleportation. Elder, please treat little miss Luna and sir Gazef well." Utgard said with a smile and then raised his hands.
"[Twin Magic: Mass Teleport]!" And then the trio disappeared; replaced by the shocked head warrior, female saint and several soldiers who had survived.
