Chapter 4

After Lexin got discharged, him and May went to work.

"Lexin!" someone shouted when they were about to enter the building. Lexin turned first and saw Kendric and his gang.

"Wrong timing man." Lexin said sighing. "Good morning, Kendric." He said trying to act cool.

"How did you arrive so late?" Kendric asked smirking. "Oh.. I just woke up late today." he replied. "Guess the cat habits are kicking in." he cracked a joke.

The entire group started laughing while May and Lexin stood there with annoyed faces.

Ignoring the group, they both walked away trying not to be noticed by them.

"What a jerk!" May exclaimed. "I have never met a friendly wolf. Or a wolf that respects other beasts." Lexin said. "True. Oh, wait. I forgot about our project. Do you think boss would approve it?" May asked stepping in the lift.

"I don't think really know actually."

"I really don't want to work till night again. It is really exhausting." May said yawning.

"You just arrived and are already sleepy?" someone asked after they stepped out from the lift. May turned around with a confused look and said, "You can say that. How was it?"

"He actually somehow liked it. It will be taken to the higher-ups. If approved by them too, it will be launched." Alden said smiling.

"HOW THE HELL ARE YOU SO CALM ABOUT THIS?!!" both May and Lexin shouted.

After they both calmed down, they started walking towards their desks. All three were sensing intense stares from everywhere.

"Lexin!!" a voice shouted.

Lexin turned in the voice's direction and smiled. "Hey, Enzo. Been a while since I saw you." he said.

"True, true. But did your boss really approve you project???" Enzo asked with sparkling eyes. "Um. Yeah. Why?" Lexin asked touching his head.

"Uhh... Why don't we speak in a corner?" he talked as he looked at all three.

"Ok, now explain." May commanded. "Um, yes. So, your boss is one of the most difficult to impress in this department. And now, you all impressed him so much that he sent a request for viewing the project to the higher-ups!! Like wowww!" he took a huge breath after speaking.

"Umm, cool. But I don't get why that is such an impressive thing." May said.

"You both are really dumb. If any of the higher-ups approve it, it will be launched. We might get a raise in our positions." Alden explained.

"Ohhh! Then what is gonna happen?" May asked. "Raise in position means... Raise in salary!" Lexin shouts.

"Wait. Really?? That is some good news!" May said laughing. "Yeah, but let's not get too hopeful. You know the higher-ups are harder to impress." Alden said and started walking back to his cubicle.

"So negative.." May said sighing. Lexin smiled and walked off to his cubicle as well.

The project first went to the Chief Executive, Mr. Bazzle, then to the CEO's secretary and finally to the both CEO's.

"Did Mr. Bazzle approve it?" Zane asked his secretary while sitting in his office.

"Yes, he liked it a lot. 'After many years, something worthy of attention has come into our hands.', were his exact words." Miss Bazzle (Daughter of Mr. Bazzle, one of Zane's trusted people) replied.

"Hmm.. Must be exceptional then." he said inspecting the piece.

"Which group made it?"

"Group 6. Alden Hobert, May Norlin and Lexin Eavenson are the members." she answered.

"I'll ask Lucas about it once I reach home."

"Ok, sir."

The news of it being approved by Chief Executive reached the group. "You look really upset. What's the matter?" May asked while returning from work.

"Oh. It's nothing." Lexin replied giving a weak smile. "Are you feeling okay?" Alden asked.

"Um, yeah. Just really tired. I have been feeling sleepy since morning." he answered. "Well, you should rest during the weekend." May suggested.

"Mm, yeah. I should do that."

"How about I stay with you for a couple days? I am worried about.." Alden said cutting himself off.

"I don't think he'll come back again." May said.

"I hope so. I thought like that before too." Lexin mumbled. "Oh, by the way, I noticed another mark on your neck. According to our doctor's examination, the bite was about a few hours old. And I also noticed bite mark when you came back without the memory chip. Did you encounter him before as well?" Alden asked. May widened her eyes and looked at Lexin.

Lexin remained quiet for a few seconds and then answered, "I didn't meet him. I met his brother, Zane."

"Hmm. It is better if I stay with you for a few days. Meeting two vampires in a day isn't normal." Alden said. "Can I stay too?" May asked. ""Sure, why not?"

And just like that, all three stayed together in Lexin's house.

"Lexin, can you do me a favor?" May asked sitting on the bed.

"Yeah, what is it?" Lexin kept his book aside. "Can you tell me what.. what the CEO's looked like? I mean personality wise. I know they are twins. I just want to know if the rumors are true about them." she said.

"Hmm.. Zane is a little humble I think. He asked me if he could drink my blood before using force. He didn't talk much. Lucas on the other side, is really strong but keeps giving comments on everything. He isn't humble at all. He also talks a lot." Lexin explained.

"I am surprised by Zane's acts. As we all know, vampires always forcefully drink our blood without saying or asking anything. Zane I believe, is a vampire but with principals." Alden said.

"I guess so." May said.

Meanwhile with Zane and Lucas-

"Hey, I am back. How are you now?" Zane asked Lucas who was in bed.

"Never been better. I think I am fine now. How was work? Did anyone ask anything about me?" asked a fully energetic Lucas.

"Only Miss Bazzle asked about you. Nobody else did. Also we got a new project to view. Mr. and Miss Bazzle have approved it. I also think it is quite excellent. I would like you to take a look at it once." Zane said pointing at the table where he kept the piece earlier.

"Okay.. I'll do that now. I was bored anyways." he said and got up.

"The members of Group 6 are Alden... May and Lexin.. Wait? Lexin's group made this?" Lucas smiled.

"You know him?"
